Recently im my bodybuilding learnings ive come to the conclusion, after trying them for many years and spending too many hours researching No products that none of them have an effect on muscle growth. There is no research to back it up..and the 7 lbs i did gain while taking no2 the first time in 1 1/2 months was due to being a beginning , my first time bulking, and placebo.-IMHO Probally all serious bodybuilders, and people whove been in this industry a while will agree with me.

:study: ? =)search pubmed you won't find a thing

i do think No products may have an effect on libido, ejaculation, but not on skeletal muscle.

i have bought some arginine alpha-ketogluterate recently and will use it but this is the last and final time ill ever use arginine type no stuff.

lastly to my knowledge the reason for me posting this thread is to make sure anyone knows if arginine alpha-ketogluterate has any side effects. Ive taking No2 and other no boosters before and might have gotten a lil light headed but no major side effects. if you have any information please share.Thats my point, No products do not work whatsoever for musclegrowth

I've never used arginine alpha ketogluterate but this is what I come on on research.
* Side effects: May occur with daily intake of 15 grams or more, and include nausea, abdominal cramping and diarrhea. Sensitive individuals may experience side effects at lower doses.
* Indications: Do not use arginine supplements if you suffer from the rare genetic disorder argininemia. Consult your physician before using arginine if you have any medical conditions, or are taking any of the following medications: nitroglycerin, Viagra, cyclosporine, ibuprofen, organic nitrates, or the herbal supplement yohimbe. Arginine may cause herpes or cold sore outbreaks in prone individuals. Individuals using arginine supplements on a long term basis should consider taking an amino acid complex to ensure proper amino acid balance.

I think I'll disagree with you on this one...I like arginine, and I know I'm getting something from it....

L-arginine is a protein amino acid present in the proteins of all life forms. It is classified as a semi-essential or conditionally essential amino acid. This means that under normal circumstances the body can synthesize sufficient L-arginine to meet physiological demands. There are, however, conditions where the body cannot. L-arginine is essential for young children and for those with certain rare genetic disorders in which synthesis of the amino acid is impaired. Some stress conditions that put an increased demand on the body for the synthesis of L-arginine include trauma (including surgical trauma), sepsis and burns. Under these conditions, L-arginine becomes essential, and it is then very important to ensure adequate dietary intake of the amino acid to meet the increased physiological demands created by these situations.

L-arginine, even when it is not an essential amino acid as defined above, is a vital one. In addition to participating in protein synthesis, it plays a number of other roles in the body. These include the detoxification of ammonia formed during the nitrogen catabolism of amino acids via the formation of urea. In addition, L-arginine is a precursor in the formation of nitric oxide, creatine, polyamines, L-glutamate, L-proline, agmatin (a possible neurotransmitter in the brain) and the arginine-containing tetrapeptide tuftsin, believed to be an immunomodulator. L-arginine is a glycogenic amino acid; it can be converted to D-glucose and glycogen if needed by the body or it can be catabolized to produce biological energy.

L-arginine, when administered in high doses, stimulates pituitary release of growth hormone and prolactin and pancreatic release of glucagon and insulin. Intravenous L-arginine may be used as an aid in the evaluation of problems with growth and stature that may be due to growth hormone deficiency. Intravenous arginine hydrochloride may be used as a fourth-line agent in the treatment of severe metabolic alkalosis. L-arginine is also used as an immunonutrient in enteral and parenteral nutrition to help improve the immune status in those suffering from sepsis, burns and trauma.

L-arginine is predominately synthesized in the kidney. It is a key intermediate in the Krebs-Henseleit urea cycle. L-ornithine and L-citrulline are precursors in the synthesis of L-arginine, and L-arginine is converted to urea and L-ornithine via the enzyme arginase. The portion of L-arginine that is not converted to urea enters the circulation, and is distributed to the various tissues and metabolized as discussed above. A much smaller amount of L-arginine is produced in the liver.

The typical dietary intake of L-arginine is 3.5 to 5 grams daily. Most dietary L-arginine comes from plant and animal proteins. Small amounts of free L-arginine are found in vegetable juices and fermented foods, such as miso and yogurt. Soy protein and other plant proteins are richer in L-arginine than are animal proteins, which are richer in lysine. It is thought that the possible hypocholesterolemic effect of soy protein is due, at least in part, to the higher L-arginine content in this protein.

L-arginine is a basic amino acid with the molecular formula C6H14N4O2 and with a molecular weight of 174.20 daltons. It has 3 pKs: pK1=2.18, pK2=9.09 and pK3=13.2. Therefore, it carries a positive charge at physiological pH. The stereoisomer of L-arginine, D-arginine, does not have any biological activity, as far as we know. L-arginine is also known as 2-amino-5-guanidinovaleric acid and (S)-2-amino-5-[(aminoiminomethyl)amino] pentaenoic acid. Its one-letter abbreviation is R. It is also abbreviated as Arg. The terms L-arginine and arginine are frequently used interchangeably. The structural formula of L-arginine is as follows:

L-Arginine

I have read a review on abcbodybuilding.com saying it's crap, but I kept trying them, because I loved the feeling, and it made me feel better.

same here. but after you move onto the move 'hardcore' stuff.. the L-Arginine pump is barely noticable.. it's too bad too. Walmart actually has some cheap legit L-Arginine and I'm sure CNW carries it in bulk. It's somewhat like the old Creatine Mono. for me, fuller muscles and leaverage for compound lifts

Every NO product that I have used in the past has been pure garbage. If only I could have the money I wasted on those products to actually purchase something worthwhile, or at least some grub! :D

Actually, the most effective NO product was the cheapest one. It had chromium picolinate, Vanadyl, and arginine, and this is the only one that actually worked pretty well. I am more into the test boosters these days. I am able to manage my acne a lot better than 1 year before..

I just noticed a decent pump but can't honestly attribute serious growth to NO boosters. Like DEO said, if you try AAS then NO boosters seem like a joke

At 18 you shouldnt need any test boosters.
I had the opportunity to test restore, and I like it. X Factor is not considered a test booster, but it works very well, and also raises test. So I guess that even if I don't need them, I like the little extra kick it can have.

ingested arginine cannot be asborbed by the human digestive tract in amounts large enough to effect levels of no2. the only way your body can asborb that much arginine is with an injection.

the reason you experience a slight pump and vascularity is because the amoutn of arginine that you are able to absorb (very little) increases your insulin sensitivity.

mostly argineine just makes you **** because you cant digest it.

every no2 product is **** based on the simple premise that is cannot be digested in amounts necessary to affect no2.

To argue the benefits of Nitric Oxide or L-arginine in relation to wether or not they are of benefit to us is nonsense.

NO production in the body creates vasodilation wich enables an increase in bloodlow and oxygen to the extremities. Not only does this increase overall stamina and energy, but this also allows for increased circulation and absorbtion of any nutrient (or bodybuilding supp.) in the bloodstream.

L-arginine is a glycogenic amino acid and is a precursor in the formation of nitric oxide, creatine, polyamines, L-glutamate, L-proline, agmatin and tuftsin. It has also been found to inhibit the oxidation of LDL.

L-arginine, when administered in high doses, stimulates pituitary release of growth hormone and prolactin and pancreatic release of glucagon and insulin.

Wether or not you find a product that works or is worth buying, does not change the science behind the benefits of NO production.

REGUARDLESS of opinion, NO production occurs in the body via L-arginine, with or without supplementation.

Enhancement of NO production however, is possible through oral administration or injection of L-arginine, and has been proven. L-arginine produces peak plasma levels approximately one to two hours after oral administration.

Further enhancement of NO production is possible via L-norvaline. An analog of the branch chain amino acid L-valine, L-norvaline has been proven to greatly inhibit a naturally occuring enzyme called arginase. Arginase is a major inhibitor of NO production. Studies involving mice have shown an increase of 55-60% in NO levels and overall vasdilatory function with the addition of L-norvaline.

Another thing to remember about maximizing NO production is that supplementing L-glutamine pre workout should be avoided. L-glutamine helps protect against amonia toxicity by transporting amonia from peripheral tissues to visceral organs. Amonia is a suicide inhibitor of NO.

Delivery methods of the active ingredient are also a factor that should be considered. I find greater results when multiple delivery methods are COMBINED such as micronizing, attaching an ester, nannofying, ect.,

Finding a product that really works may be an issue for some, so take some of these things into consideration as they WILL indeed play a role in how effective the results will be.
