Humans created god, it was time we started acting like him and stopped being such pussies about medical and scientific breakthroughs.

im sick of 2000 year old storybooks getting in the way of scientific progress. this can save lives people.

I was using that that reference as a Generalization really..... and if you find making human/sheep progressive, I think you need to rethink really. nothing like breeding out the human race.

didnt mean to strike a nerve DA. but wont you give it to me that every religion is going to believe in and defend its religious text just as zealously as the other? kind of makes the whole religion thing lose credibility. Defineitely shouldnt get in the way of real world issues IMO.

Bottom line, if you were sick you would want this option available to you. i dont see what "playing god" has to do with it. We arent going to be taken over by man/sheep hybrids

J, I completely respect you opinion, and I do agree that religon does get in the way for some, blinders so to say. The thing that struck me, was calling it a storybook.

My playing God comment, was more about making new beings, which yes we can grow ears on back of mice, and soon a new liver (Which will benefit both me and you Im sure :lol: ) , I just dont agree with making all new species. One of these days, I just see it back firing in mans face.

without a doubt. however i am sure (90%...ish) that the benefits we recieve from this type of research will far outway any of the consequences. It makes much more sense to give it a go than to not.

also i dont think the sheep are actually human/sheep hybrids, i believe the term chimera is used. at the bottom of the article it states that there is no cellular fusion. The sheep has purely sheep and purely human cells, not human/sheep hybrid cells.

I would like to also say, I am all for science, and pushing forward. My question really is where will it stop?

Yes, right now they might be seperate cells, but nature is much more powerfull than man, and give it time, they will adapt, and become one.
