The study done on KSM66It doesn't seem to change anything for me. I notice benefits regardless of when I dose it as long as I consistently do it every day
The study done on KSM66
A prospective, randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled study of safety and efficacy of a high-concentration full-spectrum extract of*ashwagandharoot in reducing stress and anxiety in adults.
"Subjects were instructed to consume one capsule two times a day after food with a glass of plain water, for 60 days."

they took after food which means they didnt had "empty" stomach.
I felt no difference either ok emtpy or full stomach
Dumb question but is KSM-66 going to be bad if taken pre-workout since it helps you stay calm and reduce stress etc?
I plan to split the dosing first thing in the AM then deciding on when to do my second dose in the PM (either before training or my last meal of the day ~2 hours before sleeping)
Some people get sedative effect from ashwagandha. But my question is, why dose it pre workout?
I'd say that the reduction in stress and anxiety is the biggest and most noticeable benefit for me; especially when I'm under a lot of stress or worried about something. Research supports other benefits, but those are harder to notice and more subtle, and it's hard for me to say if other effects (mood enhancement, nootropic effects, etc) are per se benefits or secondary to reductions in stress and anxiety (does it really matter; how many of us aren't stressed, haha), but that's why research on ashwagandha is nice, although all of the other benefits are icing on the cake really, as the stress/anxiety reducing effects are enough to justify use for me.What benefits are you guys "feeling" with this?
Haha, I know what you mean. I just finished a bit more than 2 weeks off, and that's enough of a break for me, haha. Starting it back up before classes start again.I mean, I'm gonna basically repeat what everyone else said. Stuff just doesn't bother me at all when I'm on KSM-66. I hate cycling off of it (I know people say you don't have to, but I do)
Ashwagandha and rhodiola are two of my favorite supplements. Between the two of them there's so many benefits and improvements in overall quality of life; the benefits in regards to athletic performance are just really nice icing on the cake.I wish I started supplementing with this and rhodiola years ago. Still glad I found out it's one of the legit supplements. Better late than never.
the way I can brush stuff off way easier and be in a better overall mood can't be placebo. Placebo tends to wear off aftet a few days or a week but these effects are consistent.

I typically use a rhodiola extract standardized for 3% salidroside (a few different sources) at about 150mg, typically once daily, sometimes twice daily. I also like SHR-5, which most of the studies use, at 1 cap (180mg) once (or occasionally twice) daily. The bulk powder is much cheaper though, and seems to work just as well, as SHR-5 contains aground 3% salidrosides as well.Who's rhodiola do y'all use and what dose?

Rhodiola and ashwagandha go well together IMO. I also like taking caffeine with ashwagandha, as the energy you get from the caffeine can help with any overly-calming effects of ashwagandha.Obviously not one of the two you addressed but I've always liked Gaia Herbs Rhodiola Rosea the most (1 capsule, 2Xday). I don't recall ever having tried it with ashwagandha though...which is surprising because I actually have both on hand right now. Can't believe I didn't think to try stacking the two; especially since I've been contemplating dropping the ashwagandha because it's been very sedating/demotivating the last few weeks. Might give the two a try and see if it counters the negative effects of ashwagandha.
edit: just wanted to add that the Gaia rhodiola is 120 mg and standardized to 5% rosavins and 1.8% salidrosides (had to email them to ask the salidroside percentage because it's not listed on the bottle).

Have you tried taking theanine with your caffeine?Taking it with caffeine is what I've been doing lately but really need to get off the caffeine as even small amounts cause bad anxiety and heart palpitations (even with the ashwagandha). Know of any place where I can get smaller doses of the ksm-66 extract? I'd like to try less than the 300 mg I have now and would rather not have to spend the time dumping half of the contents from one capsule into an empty one. The best alternative I can find so far is CVS now sells the ksm-66 extract as a tablet...which I could then split (not sure of the dose though; it's not listed on their website).
Sensoril does also have promising studies on it. I haven't seen anything comparing the two, and I've never used Sensoril, so I can't compare them myself. Sensoril is a root and leaf extract, while KSM (and most ashwagandha extracts) are root only extracts. So are most in agreement KSM-66 > sensoril? A couple reviews people prefer sensoril. Was looking at Nutrigold brand, has 300mg KSM and 200mg whole root.

I've never used sensoril, but KSM-66 has noticeable benefits for me. Using the swanson brand which is super cheap. I'd be curious to see what other have to say, but for now I'm sticking to KSM, it works great!
Jarrow is cheaper than Swanson.
180 capsules at 300mg each for 2x the price of Swanson which is 90 caps at 250mg each
Can you PM me where you get yours?

The same place you get your Swanson brand![]()
LOL.....as a KSM-66 addict, I cannot believe I didn't notice this.
hmm, want to let me in on this?
Swanson brand looks kind of iffy. I'm definitely going to get Jarrow's KSM next

Just mixed reviews. I read a review saying that someone got bottles of stuff that had a new expiration sticker over the old ones lol. I don't know NOW and Jarrow brand seem more reputable. But that's just my opinion.Iffy in what way?

I understand that. I'm saying I just've known Jarrow to be a good brand that I've trusted for a while. Just personal preference.Huh?
Swanson KSM66 is exactly same as other KSM66 products. KSM66 is KSM66. The only things that can be different is price and dose in each cap

I am using swanson KSM66 and I really love it. First days (week) it gave me very strong sedative effect with just two caps (500mg)but my body got used to it..increased to 750mg (3 caps daily at once) and got the same sedative effect until my body got used to it. Working good
I'd also like to add I use Swanson KSM-66, and I've used it many times and I'm still alive and loving the effects of it. Haha.
I really enjoy KSM66![]()
It's cheap and has 100000000 benefits. So glad I read kisaj's post awhile back about all the various adaptogens he takes.
Haven't tried them with Relora; I'll have to look into that. For those looking for an extra relaxation boost, try rhodiola/KSM/relora with a cup of coffee. Real nice synergy there and you'd need to get punched in the face to be bothered.
