Hey everyone, I'm wanting to gain some weight. But I have a high metabolism and I eat just about everything. (from mcdonalds to candybars) So I'm not really eating healthy. I'm needing a good diet to follow and a good workout. I'm new to the body lifting deal so please bare with me.

I am...
6'1"
160 lbs

Wanting to be 220+ but no bigger than 275

Can you guys please get me started?

Ya need to eat a pound of meat every day, and a pound of veggies, potatoes etc. If you can drink milk, drink as much of it as you can. Get a good Creatine, whey, glutamine powder and use that every day. Try to eat every 2 hours or so. JMO

Well the meat and milk deal is no problem, I love them both. But would it be ok to eat stuff like, rice, fish, pasta's, shrimp, & boneless chicken? Cuz thats stuff that I really enjoy. How often should I drink the shakes?

I also forgot to mention I work the Owl shift. (from 10pm-6am) I started taking not around 6pm today of what I was eating and everything was over 500 calories, averaged 25g of protein, and 20g of carbs. Thought this information would be of some use to you guys.

if you go to dailyburn.com there is a good method of calculating your caloric food intake along with your macronutrients (protein, carbs, fat). all that stuff you mentioned is great!! eat as much brown rice, fish, whole wheat pasta, and chicken you can. just make sure its whole food and not some POS sodium filled box dinner from the frozen dinner aisle at the grocery store.

creatine, multivitamin, and protein would be good for you now. shoot for around 200-220g of protein a day maybe around 300-350g carbs and 70 or so grams of good fats coming from nuts, olive oil, and fish.

At least a gram of protein for every pound of body weight. 1 shake a day, dont need a blender just mix it with a spoon in juice or water Lef has it on sale right now. I work that shift too. The creatine whey and glutamine help with stamina taken before work and work outs.

im working that exact shift right know i feel yah on that try premaking food to take to work it helps alot the only places open at this time is fastfood and thats sucks.

Eat it all......If fat starts to pile up, start eating cleaner.

I used fitday to calculate macros, it works nicely for me.

I think AM has a diet tracker as well.

Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!
