needle size for delt injections question.

what is a good needle size for delt injections. 1cc 2x per week.... oil based solution.

i was thinking about getting 23g x 1' but i think that i read somewhere that its too difficult to draw out the oil from the vial with such a small needle size.

should i get some 18g neeedles just to draw the oil and then stick myself with the 23g or can a both draw and stick with the 23g?

hope this makes sense... as you can tell i've never pinned before.

1 inch 23g is just fine. That is what i use. I pull the oil out with a 23g; change needles and put another 23 on. either 1 inch or 1.5 depending on where im usin it.

I go 1" 25g for delts, but draw with 20-23g.

Yeah, i always buy a box of 18-20 guage (pin only) just to use to draw with. Also keeps the 25g needle from dulling a little before injecting.

IMO

Buy 3ml syringes with a 20 or 18g needle

Draw out the oil then switch to a 25g 1" needle.

Don't buy the syringe with the 25g needle or you will have to switch 2 times.

Wise this one is.

I draw with 23s, it doesn't take that much longer. Bigger guages tend to break the rubber up, not good if you dont' like abcesses.

I've used 23g 1.5" in the delt before, but I prefer 1" for delts. Something about sticking a needle 1.5" in my delt just doesn't feel right...lol

I've used 25g 5/8", 1" and 1.5" for delts. all worked - 1" is ideal though

as others have said 1 inch is good for delts but you can use just about any size. it doesnt really hurt more going down deep tho....

well, i just pinned for my first time ever...

went real smooth, my left shoulder is a little bit sore, but no biggie.

i used 23g 1 inch to both draw and pin,
it feels so weird to have finally popped my cherry so to speak. :D

Congratulations.. Just remember that the less you move your delt and the needle while you're injecting, the less sore it will be. The last thing you want is sore delts when you have chest or shoulder days coming up at the gym. I find the best way to do delts is to let your arm rest on a table beside you so there is no chance of the muscle contracting involuntarily. How long did it finally take you to go through with the first injection?

i actually injected last night, and then went to work chest about an hour later. my shoulder was fine, and today no soreness at all.

i'm not sure what you mean. how long did it physically take me to get all the liquid injected in to the muscle, or how much hesitation was there prior to the pin?

Yeah, how long did the whole process take you to finally get it over with? Most people spend like 20 minutes on their first injection. 2 minutes getting everything ready and then 18 minutes with the needle an inch from their leg lol.

draw with a 22g, pin with either a 23-25...23s arent too bad in the delt. if you are giving it to yourself i would reccommend the 23. takes a lot less time to get the oil out. 25s take a while

no hesitation, i've been waiting a year to pin. there was no way i was going to wait any longer once it was all ready to go.

I draw with a 20g then switch out to a fresh 1" 25g needle. I don't worry too much about the rubber top because I mainly use 10ml vials, so it only gets poked a few times before it is gone. I like to stand up when I do my delt shots so I can look in the mirror to make sure I am hitting it high enough, otherwise the oil just goes down to my arm.
