OK not sure where to post this so if it gets move so be it.
There are a ton of you that have knowlege on just about everything so I figured I would come in here and ask some questions.
Someone very dear to me has
Invasive Ductal Carcinoma ( Breast Cancer).
She is ER+ and PR+ ( Estrogen and Progesterone positive).
That means the cancer feeds off of these hormones to survive.
Unfortunately, she is of the few who is positive
with the HER2/neu gene. It has overactive protein
receptors that make it highly aggressive. So, the summary?
35 pre-menopausal, ER+/PR+, HER2+, Breast Cancer, with
metastasis to 11 out 15 lymph nodes putting me at stage III.
I am reading up on all this and I dont totally understand this. Main thing is she is not doing chemo. The health risk and the chance of survival increase didnt mean enough to her to go forward. What can any of you tell me about alternative methods, experimental drugs, anything that I can read up on and get my hands on would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

(((((HUGZ)))) she must mean alot......I can tell you what I personally did...

In 93, i was told i had stomach cancer, i was pissed......I was mad at the world but decided to live.

I did do the chemo, radiation, and I went with my best friend to a holisitic book store. I did lots of medatating, and picturing the cancer as something I could kill, I ate all orangic foods until I had to have a J tube ( nutriants go to the Intesntines and bypass the stomach...I did that for a yr, end of the yr, cancer free, the next yr cancer free.......

Until recently, cancer free, whether or not it worked, I will look for all my info, support groups for people that have the same cancer is key as well, knowing your not alone....,,hearing the hell that others go through , helps...oddly enough.

Your in my thoughts, and feel free to email, or have her email me [email protected]

Yah she does mean a lot to me, we grew up together as kids, were best friends ended up dating and life took us away from each other for a while, but we have re-united now and this battle is the single most important thing in my life right now.
Thanks for the info I will hit you up for sure!

I don't have any specific info to help you, but encourage you to be strong and loving. Often having hope that is indestructable is better than some medicine. When does love begin? This is where it gets real. Hang in there. Please be vocal here. Support.

My mom is the same way, she has bone cancer and renal failure. She has refused treatment since day 1. It is not an easy thing to deal with as a loved one. All you can try and do is support the decision made. It is not an easy thing to do, just know if you need to talk the post is open. Feel free to email me if you have any questions

Just take it one day at a time, I find that never second guessing anything. It can drive you crazy. I have a good frind in someone (npursuit) he has been real support and ears. So if you have close friends dont feal that you cant turn to them for ears. they are thier for it

How true that is, that is something I have to fight, the "what ifs" are so hard to keep out of my head.
Yah we have a great group of friends that have showed so much love and strength for us it is amazing!

You will find out who your true friends are at this tough time. But remember MOST people aren't assholes but it comes out that way, they are infact afraid of the unknown, the thing they have no control over.

I love my signature, I teach special ed, and everyday I am seeing or hearing something that makes me laugh, or I see a child smile for the first time, or walk alone, that is my something special, along with my nephew whom I adore more than life.:)

Try going to Invalid Link Removed, lots of web sites, on there, not sure where your located, but here in little rhody, it;s$$$ but worth it, the health food store, no addiatives, or perserviatives ( spelling).......

Off to school ( 2nd to last class,) so I will look for some more info later.

may I ask what her chances are with out the chemo?
