Myprotein Whey Flavors

Not open for further replies.
Still working through my banana split, I cut back on the liquid and it's not so bland any more (guess this was obvious). Still liking the apple crumble flavor a lot, especially stirred into greek yogurt or oatmeal. I get a bunch of emails from these guys but man, they have some nice sales running almost all the time. I'll definitely be back for more.

Apple Crumble in oatmeal with some cinnamon is so delicious. That was my breakfast for a whole month haha.

Just went hard with this Black Friday Sale....

5.5lbs of:

Chocolate Mint
Vanilla Raspberry
Natural Bananna

+11lbs of Unflavored

I'll report back on flavoring as I work thru these. I really wanted to go with some more exotic flavors but I chickened out haha.

Boss, I don't believe any of those were recommended ITT though lulz.

Well, perhaps I'm in for a bad time lol...

I read reviews other than on this board as well. They can't be that bad right? Riiight? Haha

Also, I grabbed the 11lbs of unflavored to "water them down" if they were that bad.

I don't need them to be great, just drinkable. Last couple times I grabbed Cutler protein made by BPS during the BOGO sales. Those all sucked except for smores.

We'll know soon enough.

Side note...even after spending close to $200 they still refused to include any samples so I could figure out what I liked before buying next time.

I don't know if the US store has samples. The UK store does.

Their official response was "we don't offer free samples."

But I think you may be right anyway. Hopefully the flavors won't be god awful.

You went a little ballsy on the flavors too. Lmk how choc mint is. Been eyeing it for a while.

I don't go to them for samples. I go to them for their prices. A lot of places don't offer samples, it's really just a courtesy that few retailers/etailers offer.

lol, and I dropped some more "exotic" ones too before buying. I originally had maple pecan, chocholate carmel, toffee and latte. The latte was SUPER cheap if you went for 11lbs, but I remembered when I had 5 lbs of Syntha 6 of latte/coffee flavor and it was awesome for about 2/3 tub then I thought it was sick tasting.

I'll for sure let you know about the choch mint. I've tried a LOT of protein so I can give a pretty accurate review on taste.

True. I wasn't expecting them to. Just thought being a first time customer dropping a lot of $ on "unknown" flavors that they may have made an exception. It didn't cost me anything to ask : )

Latte is fantastic. Especially if you make protein coffee with it. My only complaint is my pee smells just like the protein.

Choc caramel is good. Double choc is good. Very good. I had the English toffee and it was meh. Very subtle and bland but drinkable. Maple pecan I have no idea.

Chocolate caramel is on point. I really liked that. Toffee was good but it got old quick.

I have some peanut cookie and chocolate brownie on the way :)

Mate, easy solution. I've seen people on YouTube complain about their bags "tasting off/as if expired" and they were sent brand new product of equal size.

If these flavors are piss, do the above and pick new ones going by the suggestions on here and previous pages.

Or just return all this ish and get ready to drop coin on Select this Monday like the rest of the board.

Haven't tried select yet but I see no reason for me to spend that much when myprotein is just as effective. I don't think taste justifies the premium

I know I'll take heat for this, but I've had two diff samples of select, and I wasn't a big fan of either.

(Blondie and Snickerdoodle)

They were NOT bad, pretty good actually, and I'm sure high quality.

What they were not, was absolutely delicious.

I've had much better tasting tbh. Nothing against PES. Great co, great reps, great products.

I'd rather just get through the protein. It's just wasteful to throw it out and a pain in the a ss to ship back, because you don't like the taste. When I was a youngster, we didn't have the luxury of all these flavors. We got our Weider protein powder mixed it up in a blender with some raw eggs and drank it down no matter how it tasted. Select is alright, but way too expensive and the flavors aren't as good as hyped up to be. I'd rather just get a great deal for tons of quality protein with tons of different flavors to try....Flavors aren't "piss", some people just like to complain if it's the not the best tasting protein they ever had. I admit I complained a bit about the flavor of the Lemon Cheesecake, but I'm not proud of it. I should have just shut up and drank it, but sometimes I'm a complainer. That's a fault of mine that I need to work on.

Has anyone tried any of the following flavors?
Stracciatella
Chocolate Brownie
Sticky toffee pudding
Salted Caramel
Chocolate Coconut

Those have caught my interest the most so far.

Repped for honesty.

I've tried ordering from Myprotein several different times and have had issues getting payment to go through, so I can't speak for the product itself. And now that I keep seeing the specials they're running it even more frustrating. You are correct regarding flavor though. It's like my Dad used to like pointing out, "It's not what you like that makes you fat, it's what you get."

Toffee was meh. Bland and subtle. Very drinkable, but nothing exciting. The taste was almost gone with 12 oz of milk.

I save my charitable acts for the needy, not for supplement companies. If they offer that return option to customers and I'm not happy with a product, it's going back Jeff....

I thought Sticky Toffee Pudding was pretty good, I enjoyed my 2.2 pounder. But it did have a very mild flavor, similar to what Woody said about the Toffee.

I have some Chocolate Brownie on the way as we speak, so I'll be sure to update you with how it is. I feel that most of their chocolate based flavors have a stronger flavor than the others. The Toffee flavors are more of a vanilla type base, and the flavor wasn't as strong. I loved Chocolate Smooth and Chocolate Caramel, so I have high hopes for Chocolate Brownie

I had a sample of chocolate brownie. It wasn't anything to get excited about. The flavor was very mild. Reminded me of the way a boxed brownie mix powder tastes.

Just checked it out, put two of the 5.5 pounders of Impact whey in my cart for a total of 11 pounds of protein. With the code its 64.42, didn't check how much shipping is. I think if you spend so much you get free shipping anyway.

I picked up cinnamon roll and peanut cookie. I will report back once I get them.

Please do man.

Interested in peanut cookie.

Alright AM! My new flavors came in yesterday, so I've had the chance to try both. Here are some quick notes for both flavors:

Chocolate Brownie: very good taste, I was impressed. It has a nice chocolately flavor and that sweet brownie accent that makes it taste great. I tried this mixed in 6oz of unsweetened almond milk, consistency and taste were very good. Recommended for sure.

Peanut Cookie: I was surprisingly unimpressed with this flavor. I was expecting a delicious sweet peanut cookie flavor, but that isn't really what you get. Its a very light taste, but there is a bitter/burnt note in the taste that makes it unpleasant. I mixed a scoop with about 6oz of unsweetened almond milk, and I wasn't very happy to be honest. It doesn't have the sweet finish like most whey protein flavors, its more like a bitter roasted peanut flavor. Very thrown off, wasn't expecting this. What a let down!

**I went further and mixed half a scoop of Chocolate Brownie and Peanut Cookie together. This combo was AMAZING. You get the sweet chocolate taste and a nutty pb note, very tasty.

The Peanut Cookie by itself honestly isn't very good. Definitely not a 'one scoop post workout' type of flavor. But mixed with some chocolate flavored protein the taste is incredible. If you're interested in the Peanut Cookie, make sure you have some other (preferably chocolate) flavored protein on hand to mix with it. This combo is delicious.

Overall MyProtein Ranking (from the flavors I've tried)

1. Chocolate Caramel - simply delicious. Not an overpowering taste, but sweet and balanced
2. Chocolate Brownie - great flavor with a sweet brownie accent
3. Chocolate Smooth - basic delicious chocolate flavor, tastes like chocolate milk!
4. Sticky Toffee Pudding - a little light on flavor, but still very tasty
5. Peanut Cookie - slightly bitter taste, but great for mixing in with other flavors
6. Cookies and Cream - very light taste, and I thought it was very bland. got tired of it very quickly, glad I only had 2.2 pounds to get through

I think their chocolate based flavors are the best so far. They have a stronger flavor and they taste great. I have also tried the Milk Smooth Vanilla, which has a very bland taste and is incredibly chalky. Let me know if you have questions! Hope this helps some of you with your future purchases.

Mix two scoops of Vanilla Smooth with 20 oz milk, shake it up, and let it sit in the fridge for 30-45 minutes. Then reshake it. I don't know why, but after sitting for a little it's delicious and no longer chalky. Also, if you mix protein into liquid or liquid into protein (can't remember which) it's more chalkier.

Agreed that overall the vanilla is bland.

Would you say the brownie is more like a batter flavor? Bc I would marry that.

Edit: Latte, IMO, is one of the easiest to drink. And double chocolate. Of any protein for that matter

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that out with the Milk Smooth.

As for the brownie, I would compare it more to a baked brownie taste rather than brownie batter. Not as powerful of a taste as a brownie obviously, but the taste is on point.

I've ordered from myprotein several times. English Toffee, imo, had way more of a presence of flavor than Sticky Toffee Pudding. Mocha is also a decent flavor, but it does have a weird smell/aftertaste.... almost reminds me of skunk when I think about it (sorry, I know that's an odd observation). Smore's also had a sweet flavor, but it was very subtle and a little light. Any of the ones I have mentioned go very well with oatmeal and/or almond milk.

The ship has arrived!

Just opened my very first bag.....

CHOCOLATE MINT

Mixability: 5/5

I use a cup, water and a spoon to stir. No clumps after like 30sec stirring in something like 5-6oz water.

Smell: 5/5

Smells just like Andes chocolate mints!

Taste: 4/5

In 4-5oz water per scoop tastes mostly minty with chocolate as a secondary flavoring....delicious!

6-8oz/scoop, tastes less like chocolate and even more like mint, though the flavor with this much liquid seems watered down but not bad.

Overall:

I've tried a lot of proteins and I'd say this flavor is on par with, if not better, than ON whey (prob the closest comparison).

Overall I'm damn satisfied. Fingers crossed on the other flavors I ordered. Will keep everyone posted.

AND ROUND #2:

Just opened up my Vanilla Raspberry....

*drumroll*

Texture: 5/5 same as the choch mint.

Consistency: thin

Smell: 2/5

Not the best. I could smell the raspberry and what seemed like a bad vanilla (artificial vanilla or somthing).

Taste: 4/5

I was surprised at the taste after smelling the powder. Dominant flavor is raspberry with vanilla secondary. Tastes like what I would call a "raspberry cream" if I had to name it. Not a powerful flavoring by any means, but I'm perfectly fine with that.

If you use more than 4oz of water per scoop it gets watered down real easily and taste suffers. Try two scoops with 6-8 o of water and you'll be golden.

Aftertaste: 3/5

I thought it was worth mentioning that this flavor didn't have the best aftertaste after a few min passed post consumption. Nothing terrible, but not the best either.

Overall:

I'm happy with the choice and I don't think I'll get "sick" of it any time soon.

So since you compared the smell to Andes mint.... Is the taste similar? I do enjoy an Andes mint or two... Hundred

It is similar.

The less water I use in it, the more concentrated the flavor, and the more it tastes like the candy.

I'm really liking it. Very pleasantly surprised. The vanilla raspberry is good, but this one is better.

Have you tried either with any sort of milk?

Not yet. I may at some point but I typically just use water. I'll let you know
