Good luck bro!

Well, I had my first sparring session in a few weeks and, other than not quite being in fighting shape, it went very well. I worked my combinations, takedowns, and submissions during the sessions and I was able to submit a few of my training partners in the process. My new gear should arrive tomorrow and I will really be able to use my kicks during training, which has been my major point of emphasis during this fight prep.

Hows that shin doin? Fare ok?

Morning observations:
1. I have zero pain in my shin
2. I have finally gotten rid of the pinched nerve underneath my right scapula
3. I am extremely sore from yesterday's WO
4. The AX gives me fantastic sleep; I am refreshed with 7 hours, opposed to my usual 9
5. My weight is down to 174, so I am 7 lbs away from my goal

Just out of curiosity, how many days are you going to take to cut to 155 from 167 before your next fight? Also, your strength is very impressive for your bodyweight, all of that training and being able to do bodyweight dips +80lbs for reps is solid.

Cutting weight is a five day process, but I don't restrict water until the night before weigh-ins. Here is breakdown of my program (assuming weigh-ins are on a Friday);
Mon-Wed: Double water and sodium intake
Thur: Normal water until 8 PM; no salt and minimal carbs (50g or so) after 12 PM; begin Potassium supplementation
Fri:Drink a cup of green tea with extra Potassium and then sauna.

1/22-Legs
Squats-3x185x6 (30 sec rest)
SLDL-3x205x6 (30 sec rest)
Unilateral LP-3x4, 45sx10
Reverse Lunges-95x10

Well, I have picked up some sort of bug, but it's not too bad. I think it was just a 24 hour thing, but the lack of sleep from last night is killing me, so I skipped out on practice tonight.

1/24-Chest, Back
Flat BP-5x125x5 (15 sec rest)
Pull-Ups-3xBWx6
Incline DB Press-70x8, 75x7
DB Rows-3x100x15
Trunk Rotations/Cable Crossovers-2x80x12/2x60x12

I did various bag drills for about 30 minutes, but nothing at 100% intensity. I am still not feeling great, which is very annoying, but I am feeling better. Hopefully, I will be ready to go on Monday so I can keep working on my striking.

1/26-Delts, Triceps
CG BP-185x6
Clean and Press-155x8, 165x5 (PR)
Overhead BB Extensions/Side Laterals-3x75x10/3x35x10
Pressdowns/Side-Bends-3x170x12/3xBWx15
Cable Front Raises-20x10/30x10

15 minutes Bag Drills
20 min elliptical

Comments-great strength and focus; cardio was effected from URI, but manageable; weight is cruising around 174; aggression is high from the Activate Xtreme

Today, I decided to cut back on my volume for chest and back, primarily because my triceps were still fried from Saturday. Also, think it is time for a minor training shift towards more dynamic lifts.

1/28-Chest, Back, Biceps
Flat BP-2x185x5
BB Rows-225x12, 245x12
Incline DB Press-70x8
Pull-Ups-3xBWx6
Hammer Curls-3x50x6
Facepulls-100x15, 2x110x15

Bag Drills
1 mile run
Sparring

Comments-high aggression, focus, sweat; cardio was solid; no pain during sparring even when going 80-90% power on left shin; felt great, even though I was exhausted

1/30-Sparring/cardio

Cardio was solid; ran 2 miles in 15 minutes or so, even though the weather was not cardio friendly. Sparring went very well. Since, I finally some good gear, I have been able to expand my repertoire of strikes, particularly my kicks. I have mini-CC thighs, so this was a natural transition for me. Weight is holding steady in the mid-170's, but I have started t reduce my kcals this week. One very interesting note that I want to add is the very violent and lucid dreams I have had the past week. I did not have this happen the previous time that I took the ActivateX, but sleep is still very restful.

Additionally, I am going to put this log on hiatus as I test out the XF/DCP stack, but I will put a link in the two to combine them.
