Back on tuesday I really can't remember the whole workout. I know we did the normal 15 sets of pull ups but it feels like we did almost every machine in there that day. Our back workout lasted for 2 and 1/2 hours!

I need to start takin some videos then! Quality on the camera isn't awesome but you'll get the concept. The incline on this guy is really high! I felt it a little in the shoulder but big time in upper chest I liked it. It was a little on the heavy side so just be mindful to warm up to it. I want to do the same with the cup hahaha!

marathon man you just beat your back to a pulp... Are there so many sets of pull ups because there aren't many reps ? Or are you just doing them to failure whatever that is. Honestly I do assisted pull ups to exaggerate the squeeze but also cause I can't pull up for sh*t lol

marathon man you just beat your back to a pulp... Are there so many sets of pull ups because there aren't many reps ? Or are you just doing them to failure whatever that is. Honestly I do assisted pull ups to exaggerate the squeeze but also cause I can't pull up for sh*t lol

I can't do standard pull-ups for much more than 3 sets of 10. Jason has me doing partial reps on these with straps. So you strap in, completely hang and relax everything in your body even your head. Then you go up about 3/4 range of motion and go down to just before lockout and you basically pulse till failure in this range of motion. Reps are actually still 10-15. He does so many pull-ups because he feels in general about training you have to get as much weight as possible on the muscle being worked and bigger guys such as yourself 230lbs is a lot of weight to pull up so it just destroys your back. Also he said because he is mainly working on width right now which is perfect because I am too. His leg training is very similar about 2-2 1/2 hours long it is brutal!
 
So I started working with Mike Arnold today. He is not gonna touch my training since I have Jason watching over me on that front. Big changes to the diet though. He told me take the protein down and take the carbs wayyyyy up because I was doing high protein/low carbs and once we start show prep I really wouldn't be giving him anything to work with. I have taken protein down to 24oz of chicken a day and 2 scoops of protein powder that is it. Carbs I am gonna try and get up to 500-700g a day. I am eating a box of pasta a day which is 280g of carbs, 14 rice cakes which is around 98g of carbs, 2 cups of rice around 100g of carbs and I am gonna start doing white potato with ketchup! Sounds delicious! Goal here is to put on as much mass as possible in the next 2 months and then time to show prep! I am motivated as can be right now!

Did legs with Jason on saturday and I was sending him texts talking straight up trash! Told him I was gonna make him puke. Well turns out I motivated him haha because he destroyed me. We did leg extensions, front squats, back squats, leg press, walking lunges and hack squat. I feel sore! Tonight is chest so I am gonna keep on focusing on upper chest!

How much protein is that bro? Around 200 grams of protein? Ask mike about using wazymaize to have "carb shakes" i started to do that when i was shooting for the 800g range... The other thing i starting doing was having an extra breakfast get up like 2 hrs earlier to drink a shake mixed with 2 cups of oats then eat my normal egg whites and 2 cups oats it bumped carbs to 200 easy and i kept protein 25 each meal...

Mike said I can have almost any carb I want right now so waxy maize is actually a good idea. What brand do you like? It is hard to eat this many carbs but I am trying to get the hang of it. Even more weird for me to be eating so low protein. Also a pre-breakfast breakfast sounds like a good idea!

That being said I just hopped on the scale...250.2lbs. This is my weight at night with food and water in me but hopefully that 250 becomes morning weight soon!
 
Alright guys sorry I haven't been on much this week kinda got slapped in the face completely un-expectedly this monday. I was at work monday and my boss pulled me aside and laid me off from work. Basically I am a nutrition coach so I do nutrition all day. The business isn't doing well (it is gonna die soon) and they let me go because I have a higher salary and they want to save money. They also said they need someone who is strong in marketing. He acknowledged that this was not a performance-related decision and that it is his fault the business is failing. That is what he told me....come to find out he fired me and hired his best-friend to take my position like 1 hour after he fired me. Basically I got ****ed big time! Looking back on it I guess I should have seen this coming as they have been shady with me the entire time I worked there. His friend needed a job and so I guess he decided to leave me and my wife without an income so that he can get his friend some work....very messed up.

My wife is a full-time student and she works when she can but I am the primary income. These guys lied about my salary from day one and as a result we have been paycheck-to-paycheck and I couldn't save money because I couldn't even make all my bills. I told them that I wasn't making bills a couple months ago and that he was paying me half of what was promised and he basically said...so what. It's even more messed up because these people called me to work for them not the other way around. They pulled me out of a town where I was established and making decent money by promising me 60k a year (didn't even make close to half of that). They asked me to move with a bunch of empty promises and it sucks because I can't help but blame myself for believing these guys. I kept pushing for paperwork to be signed so this was all written down but my boss dodged every single time. I had to beg to even get a paystub!

Long story short we are definitely in trouble right now. My wife and I are working together as a team on this we are not fighting and blaming each other. We know this is what makes marriages stronger and are really pulling together here. I have sent my resume out to gyms all over the state and weight loss clinics. We really don't want to live in Sarasota but we have a lease here for another 3 months which makes things even more difficult. We don't know if we pay a ton of money to break the lease and move in blind faith or if we stay here and I wait tables for 3 months just trying to make bills. My gym offered to hire me but by the time I get established in a gym our lease will be up. Tons for us to think about..sorry this is such a long post just had to get it out there.

Tough situation man... sorry to hear that... and i'm glad you and your wife are pulling together on it. By any chance is anything about your promised salary in writing or contracts? And since he hired his best friend there's favoritism conflict on interest... you might have a law suit if you wanted to persue it... i'm not realy a "legal" person but it all sounds fishy as F**K... i know you said you pushed for paper work.. just hope you got some... but if not just role with it... are there any ***'s Vitamin World's Vitamin Shops Max Muscles in your area??? With your background you are much more eligible for hire.. i managed a *** for 6 years i would have loved an employee like you.. Even if you work at the gym and part time a supplement store... almost all the stores have good commission pay and hourly minimum wage to 9 as a base... commission could be 2-5 dollars more an hour.. idk if any of that helps but hopefully it will

and nice work man!!! i use glyco maize optimum nutritions brand it's unflavored pretty cheap.

Couldn't get anything in writing I pushed and pushed it was on excuse after the other. I mean I knew I wanted to leave this job but I was just gonna leave when my lease was up and it was gonna buy me time to find a new job. Now I have to act fast! I have a vitamin shoppe nearby but they are fully staffed. Honestly I am thinking maybe a nicer restaurant like Bonefish that is somewhat expensive so the bill will be higher but also high table turnover rate. Do that for a couple months then move or something like that.

So to make my week even better from tuesday night to this morning (saturday) I have been stuck in bad with an insanely bad cold! Went lengths of 24 hours without eating lost about 10lbs. I literally couldn't stand up for more than a minute this thing was nasty. All bad bad congestion couldn't breathe still dealing with that. Needless to say I wasn't in the gym. I went and did a very light shoulder workout tonight and hopefully light legs tomorrow. As for jobs probably gonna have to wait tables for a couple months :/ It will suck during show prep!
 
Back on track except for I am still congested and breathing is a little difficult right now. I hit a light shoulder day saturday, supposed to be light leg day sunday (ended up doing v-squat 600lbs for 10 reps), then chest last night and back today. By no means impressive workouts just trying to fill back out all the weight I lost last week being sick. Weight is coming back on slowly.
 
Sorry to hear about the string of bad luck brother... that sucks man.. things will start coming up.. A good friend of mine just said to me when things seemed to be against me "just keep moving forward... things tend to work out" maybe its dumb but thats what i'm doing hopefully it'll work for you
 
I will make it through! Just gotta find some temporary work to pay the bills then make the move to orlando at the end of april. It will suck to move during show prep but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Workouts are back on track

Shoulders: DB Lateral Raises - 10lb's for like 30, 20lbs for 30, 30lbs for 20, 40lbs for 20 and 50lbs for 16 then did some partials

Rear Delt Fly Machine - 100lbs for 20, 120lbs for 20, 140lbs for 15, 150lbs for 15, 170lbs for 12

Front Raises with DB's - 15lbs for 20, 20lbs for 20, 25lbs for 15, 30lbs for 12, 35lbs for 12, 40lbs for 10

Lateral Raises on machine - half the stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 15, whole stack for 12, whole stack for 10 plus partials

Bent Over Raises with DB's - 20lbs for 15, 25lbs for 15, 30lbs for 15, 35lbs for 12, 40lbs for 10 plus partials

Barbell Shrugs - 135lbs for 15, 225lbs for 15, 315lbs for 12, 365lbs for 8

I feel like I am back on track and my weight is around 240-242lbs first thing in the morning. The increase in carbs has me fullllllllll but I am a tad bloated but the bloat seems to be getting better. I think my body just needed to adjust to the carb intake.
 
Also I have been using just ergo-blitz as a pre-workout I actually mix it with an emergen-c packet in it as well. That is it! Good pumps still love it. Cabergolean I take a big dose at night for bed time.
 
Yesterday was my birthday so I looked for jobs and went to the gym hahaha pretty much like any other day. Except a cheat meal after the gym :) Then my parents call and wanna take me out to dinner...okay well two cheat meals is fine but then here is the kicker...tomorrow is the super bowl. So I am eating healthy tonight because I wanna eat for the super bowl.

Arms:

V-Bar pushdowns - worked my way up to the whole stack and did 3 working sets with the whole stack. Think it was 7 sets total including warm-ups

Underhand push downs - This time I started at half the stack and one plate at a time moved to the whole stack. Once again I think I hit 6-7 sets on here

One Hand DB Extension - 20's for 20, 25's for 20, 30's for 20, 35's for 15, 40's for 15, 45's for 15, 50's for 12

Cable Curls - I can't remember the weights but I only did half the stack and did about 5 sets there just getting blood into the biceps to warm them

Hammer Curls - stayed light on these...35's. Really focusing on the contraction and didn't count reps just went to failure

Tricep Extension Machine - worked up to the whole stack and did 3 working sets there...once again probably about 7 sets

Bicep Curl Machine - worked up to 3/4 of the stack. Did about 7-8 sets on this. I did not do a full range of motion on these. I stayed contracted the whole time.

I am finding my bicep peak sucks. My arm size is not bad and my triceps are good but my biceps just don't seem to peak. This is why on the last machine I just stayed in that contracted position. Biceps I am trying to figure out how to shape them better so that will be the arm focus for now. About to go hit legs...just realized this is my 8th straight day in the gym and my lower back is bothering me a little today so I am gonna keep it light and just focus on a pump today.

I just don't want to waste time I should be looking for work. I am not having much luck finding work in sarasota :/ its the middle of season in florida and everyone is fully staffed. I have started applying for jobs in orlando so that we can move in a couple months.

As for bodybuilding I am getting a lot bigger for sure! Really loving the diet change. I have been using ergo blitz only still for my pre workout and it is great! I love not being on stims for my workouts I really cant stress enough how much i am loving this!

love it pre workout man!! I've been off stims for awhile it does make a difference. Been taking creatine and caber with it getting that super full feeling again
 
Definitely makes me noticeably more full! I love being off the stims too I feel wayyyyyyyy better

No doubt i feel like it forces carbs into the muscles and the two of us are eating enought carbs to need that haha... Hows the added carbs going man? I took a page out of your book and bumped the fats up quite a bit! Enjoying what i'm thinking i'm seeing so far!

Man I am in love with high carbs like this hahaha! I feel so much better all around, my workouts are way better and I have more energy. It is still weird for me to be eating so low protein but its all for a purpose. I am eating about 100g's per meal right now so it is a ton at once.

I think more fats for you is gonna work wonders. Your metabolism is so fast you need them more than most. I think your scale will be hitting that 230lb mark here soon!
 
So update time:

Job hunt seems to be going well finally! I had an interview yesterday to be a personal trainer at Lifestyle Family Fitness which is what I want to do. If nothing else I can work at brighthouse or Olive Garden as well. There should be a job here within the next week or so for me so I am excited about that! Our family has been absolutely phenomenal throughout this whole ordeal for me and my wife and giving us insane support I am grateful for that.

My show I believe I am somewhere around 20 weeks out. Not gonna lie I have been taking more cheat meals than usual. In my mind once show prep hits that is it for me. Yeah show prep will have some cheat meals but it won't be the same as it is now. My wife has never been with me through a show prep so I am relaxing now and just enjoying life before it all starts. Everyone is saying I look drastically bigger since I upped my carbs so that is good! Jason said I looked leaner as well which is even better!

Workouts are going great and my strength is still getting better. Ergo-blitz pre-workout and cabergolean before bed is a win win! It is insane how full I feel all the time I absolutely love it. Here was yesterdays workout

Chest:

Incline BB Bench - 135lbs for 20, 185lbs for 20, 225lbs for 16 (first time doing bb incline in over 2 years)
Hammer Strength Wide Chest Press - 90lbs for 15, 180lbs for 15, 270lbs for 15, 360lbs for 10 then drop set and did it all again for 10 (huge pump!)
Incline DB Fly - 20lb's for 20, 30lbs for 15, 40lbs for 15, 50lbs for 15, 60lbs for 15
Fly Machine - half stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 12, 3/4 stack for 12
Decline Cables - can't remember the weight but did 4 sets of 15 reps
Decline BB Bench - 135lbs for 20, 135lbs for 30, 185lbs for 16
Incline Press Machine - 1/4 stack for 15, 1/2 stack for 15, 3/4 stack for 10

Felt spent after all that! My workouts are getting longer and longer which i love haha. I am doing cardio 3x a week for 20 minutes right now. Pumped for show prep!

I also got offered a good restaurant job so I finally have some work coming my way! I am excited about that. On top of everything else I am like 2 weeks away from show prep and am starting to get excited.

Back:

Pulldown Machine - just used the whole stack and did sets of 10 reps on there. I did this to get warm for deadlifts

Deadlifts - took some time off from deadlifting (about 2 months) so I only went up to 315 and did sets of 10 on that. I just wanna get the feel of the exercise back before I start piling more weight on to the bar.

Pull-ups - I did 6-8 sets on pull-ups and the reps were only around 10 haha these are hard to do after deadlifts

Plate Loaded Row - worked up to 4 plates per side and did a couple sets at 12 reps each side

Cable Row - I think I only went up to 180lbs here and really focused on pausing and squeezing every rep

Hammer Strength Pull-down one arm at a time - just kept it to one plate per side and this gave me a good pump

Cable Lat Pullovers - used half the stack for 4 sets of 15 reps

I think this ended up being like 35-40 sets so I felt done haha. I am using a full range of motion right now. In show prep I will do a full range of motion until I fail and then I will be incorporating partial reps to burn out. I have taken a break from partial reps for the last couple weeks.

Glad the jobs are coming when you need them man!! it's funny how we get excited to get shredded and ready for the stage then about 2 weeks out... u kinda are like yep... i want to eat 100g of carbs a meal again :)

Got the job for sure! Thank God that was definitely needed. Looks like i'll be working about 60 hours a week so it will be busy on top of show prep but that's what it's all about!

I hear ya man. At least you have Jason to help you out with posing. If you even practice an hour a week you'll be doing more than most man..I'm sure you'll have it down. THis is your wife's first prep with you right? You'll have moments i'm sure but if you keep checking yourself it will probably be your best prep.. I imagine she'll be helping with food prep etc. That makes things so good when on a diet. :)
 
Can cabergolean be stacked with a PH like Androhard by PP, or better to be used during PCT? Ben I saw that you were taking ergoblitz throughout the day, vs the traditional way (before and/or during workouts).
