Muscle Milk lite + Coffee pre-workout?

EasyEJL

Never enough
I tried one day a pot of cold day old coffee and MM lite pre-workout, and it was a nice taste, sustained carbs, caffeine for energy, the whole shebang. What I was wondering is if there would be hydrolizing effects or other problems if I used hot or warm coffee? I'm just trying to figure out how cool I should get it first :)

You can do that but MM already make a ready to drink shake called Mocha Joe that has 200mg of caffeine in it.

Its more a question about harming the whey :) Cause for instance, on staying ultra low carb, I could do the same with just plain whey powder, or any of the flavored no carb whey mixes. Just I happened to try and enjoy it with the MM lite vanilla already.

I don't see how it would hurt But I am not a chemist. I don't see how heat could harm the whey or add carbs. Your not cooking it just heating it up a little.

Probably I should have made the post title "What temperature harms the BCAAs and protein in whey". Coffee hits around 190ish degrees when its first made, and I think thats enough to blow away some of the amino acids. I used to work in a pharmaceutical R&D lab, but that was quite a long time back.

this is from a source that is promoting another whey supplement so you be the judge...

"The best parts of whey proteins, immunoglobulins and serum albumen, denature at 60 Celsius. Mandated pasteurization temperatures require that milk be pasteurized at 72 Celsius for 20 seconds."

im pretty sure 60 C = 140 F and 72 C = 162 F. your coffee shouldnt maintain the 190 degree temp after the coffee maker is turned off and will cool down to below 140 F pretty quickly. IMO, its not much to worry about. the stomach denatures these aminos anyways. changing the structure of the protein doesnt make it useless.

Thats perfect, thanks. I keep a digital thermometer in the kitchen anyhow for meat cooking, so I can make sure I get below the 140 before I add whey. Like I need any caffeine on top of NO Shotgun and V12, but

It takes dynamite to get me up
Too much of everything is just enough
One more thing I just got to say
I need a miracle every day

Thanks again!
