I liked the first one too but didn’t expect much, it’s like the great value John wick. My bar for realism in movies has been set very low lol. We also rewatched the first fast and the furious at work literally last shift, the first one is such a guilty pleasure of mine. “Shouldn't have been Granny shifting and double clutching like you should”

LOL.

Yeah ... I understand.
I'm not sorry I watched it, but it wasn't as good as the first one.

The genre was great for me ... Former operator action, with comedy.

You know my favorite movie recently?
The Gorge.

I really enjoyed the Naked Gun movies (guilty pleasure, LOL).

But I just couldn't make myself try the new one.

Saw it and was happily entertained, I’m big on sci fi action too.

I’ll tell you what, I’m not really an animated fan besides a few (my favorite being Heavy Metal 1981) but the predator killer of killers was kinda cool. A lot of sci fi action though.

Heavy Metal was on a different level. I saw it in the Theater (extended Midnight showing).

I actually haven’t seen any of the monsters, have no clue why. Will definitely be watching this one, Ed Gein was the inspiration for Texas Chainsaw Massacre for anyone that didn’t know. I wrote a paper on Ed Gein in High school and had to write another paper on someone else because it was too much lol.

I’ve heard they werent really going for a blockbuster in sales, and this was more for the rock debuting real acting skills. That’s what I read online but that could always be an excuse why it didn’t do good financially. This movie is on my list too.

Also Psycho and Silence of the Lambs. This mini series in pretty damn good if you’re into horror stuff.

Just found out 27 seconds ago that the new Predator Badlands movie is rated PG13, it’s ruined lol. Massive fan of predator, obviously the first is the best but I kinda liked the crappy ones too lol. I feel like in the world of predator making it PG13 will white wash the gore and action too much.

Saw Predator Badlands against my better judgement, I’m not a fan. It was entertaining but it was without a doubt a Disney movie through and through. It was well done for what it is but I guess I’m partial to a darker/scarier predator portrayal.

Yeah this is why I am scared to see it haha. They killed alien, basically made it "how to train your xenomorph" **** disney

Also is everyone using a service that lets you watch everything or are you still paying for things like netflix? if you are message me, I will tell you another service that can be free or if you want an extra layer of security is 60 aud a year for EVERYTHING, it grabs torrents and streams it for you. Just not sure if I can say it here haha

If that’s your perspective you probably won’t be a fan either tbh. That’s exactly the direction thy are going. From a business standpoint I completely understand though because it broadens their audience for more revenue.

Does it rhyme with es-oh-es streaming? We have it at work and it’s actually amazing. I tried to make it cryptic lol, I’m sure we can probably say it though lol.

Oh no I get that, but it is alien and it already had a huge built fanbase, some of us have been waiting for this kind of thing for years and years only to be slapped in the face, a little bit of warning would have been nice haha

Well, I got one of those bugs that just refused to go away. I finally developed pneumonia, so I told the Doc I'd miss a day or two of work, so the first feature is one of my all time favorites.... The Fifth Element. It's free on Tubi right now.

Is the 5th element an all time favorite in a way like Evil Dead could be someone’s horror favorite? Or do you mean, legitimately?

Seriously asking.

I think it depends upon a person's perspective.
It is considered a "classic" now, Especially amongst sci-fi fans (of the lighter type, not based in science or horror). It has a top notch director, and is visually pretty awesome (especially when considering when it was released).
It has a decent story, but they did choose to add Much comedic elements, which is part of what endears it to me.

Howd you guys go with the service I recommended?

I watched the brothers sun, great series, funny and great action, recommended

Thought to add in a few titles I have seen over the previous few months which got my attention and recommend:
All on YT except where indicated.
1. Fatman. Mel Gibson as a grumpy Santa.
2. Nr.24 Norwegian resistance fighter recounts the war to a modern audience. Netflix
3. Going Postal. based on a Terry Pratchett novel set in disc world.
4. Tailgate. Dutch road rage.
5. Baby Assassins 1,2, 3. Three separate films
6. The Gardener. JCVDM
7. Time to Kill. Nick Cage from 1989. Yes, it is old and interesting. Colonial attitudes.
8. Weekend at Dunkirk. WW2. Brilliant.
9. April 9. WW2. Very well done squad action.
10. Cold Skin. Weird. just weird.

Has anyone watched After Life with Ricky Gervais? It might literally be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. Season 1 was pretty funny thing.

No but we just finished the Goliath series with Billy Bob, there are times where episodes get a little slow or "jump the sharky" but tbh I thought it was a fantastic series and each season ends really well.

Oh I did fall for the Friends and Neighbors series after the Jon Hamm meme too hold on me, lol. I thought that was pretty good.

Has anyone seen 11.22.63? It was originally on Hulu in 2016 and Netflix brought it over. It’s pretty good. There’s 8 episodes to it.

One of the few shows I’ve actually seen, my wife read the book so we watched the show together, pretty good show! Me and my wife actually went to where JFK was assassinated after we watched the show, kind of brought it all together in a cool/weird way.
