Some Jazz (Miles Davis' electric stuff)
Punk (Mission of Burma, SHAM 69, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains(esp. Banned in DC), Minor Threat, GBH, Minutemen)
LCD Soundsystem
Dopplereffekt
Kraftwerk (yes...really!)

I'm not a metal fan, but some the really weird Miles stuff sounds like what's going on inside a schizophrenic's mind and is pretty rhythmic.

Banned in DC:head::aargh:

Metal, metal, and more metal.

Instrumental guitar music (Andy Timmons, Satriani, Vai, etc) and Electronic when I'm doing cardio.

DISTURBED!!!!

I hate hearing hip hop when working out. Well..I don't like it anyways whenever the case may be.

Being a musician, I will and do listen to pretty much all forms of music. Jazz is my personal favorite but a music mix for me will range from Leann Rimes to Chick Corea with a lot of deviations in between. One of my favorite workout Jams was the soundtrack from the broadway musical
Les Mis.

:bruce3:

Rap hands down, it's a mixture of hard base along with smooth flow and lyrics that make the workout that much more enjoyable. Not a huge fan but I am a fan of DMX that always gets me pumped up along with some Onxy. I also like Tupac, Crooked I, Nas, Jayz, Maino, and old Snoop Dogg.

Before training Classical music, during training Rock music (Whitesnake, Bon Jovi etc) and after training Classical music.

yeah devil driver is awesome. it has to be extreme. and i hate breakdowns! so no metalcore

ALL of Decapitated's stuff (really like nihility and organic hallucinosis)
Bury your dead-self titled
Devil Driver-Fury of our maker's hand
Black Dahlia Murder-Unhallowed and Nocturnal (vocals are annoying on noctournal tho)
Napalm Death- THe Silence is deafening
Gojira

Dark Tranquillity-Lost to Apathy is awesome and so is the cd Fiction

:head:

Lux Aeterna, Ecstasy of Gold, Last of the Mohicans theme...stuff like that. No, I am not a Buckethead fan.

Add some explosions in the sky, sohno durado, and a bunch of others and I agree. I definintly listen to "your hand in mine" on my way to the gym. Reminds of my high school football days..I miss them.

Also, rap songs with rock remixes are badass typically.

I listen to country a lot, I guess im weird according to the poll.

new york hardcore and beatdown hardcore
bulldoze
madball
fatality
punchyourface
skarhead
merauder
vietnom
billyclub sandwich
everybody gets hurt
36 DEADLY fists ( not to be confused with that terrible CRAZY fists band)
i could make this list 100+ bands long, but these are the first to pop into my head.

i picked other, because this didnt fit into any of the categories.

I don't usually listen to music during a workout, I like to focus on my surroundings, not music. I'm easily pumped up on my own. However, if I had to choose, I'd say rap with cocky lyrics. It puts me in a great mindset when I'm listening to someone talk about how they're better than someone else, it makes me want to be better than everyone else at what I'm doing.

Got to go with punk (Bad Religion, Pennywise, Millincolin), or hardcore metal ( As I Lay Dying, Slipknot). The metal only really in the gym, but the punk anytime.

DISTURBED!!! (Land of Confussion, Stricken, The Sickness, Stupified) They all get me up for the gym. Also DROWNING POOL (Bodies).
