Oral glucose, problem solved. Hypoglycemia is remedied by fast-acting carbohydrates. Oral glucose comes in gel tubes and is cheap. Insulin doesn't seem all that scary to me until I consider screwing up my pancreas.
It's not really as simple as using an oral glucose to bring your sugars back up, as your body will still produce insulin to cover whatever glucose you are consuming as it doesn't realize that you are adding an outside insulin source. I had a friend who is a very high level competitor who knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to steroid and hormone injections. He had a bit higher intensity training session than normal and went hypo because of it. It took me stuffing 8 cans of Coke down his throat before he was able to think on his own. I never want to see that happen again to anyone I know.
