Montego an Snagency tag-team with FINAFLEX in the corner

Woke up this morning at 198. Puuurfect. Considering the foods I was eating to carb up yesterday and then my little sandwich, fries and steak last night I'm happily satisfied this morning.

One thing I am VERY glad to see is that when I woke up today, is that I DID NOT look better then I did yesterday. Snags nailed the timing. Unlike a lot of guys who come in and compete then pig out and actually look better then next day I hit my peak perfectly.

There are a couple things we talked about on the phone that might have helped a tad bit, but we took the route with the best chance of success without the big-time risk of being completely off. Next show we will have even more info about how I react to dial things in even better.

One thing.....I woke up in a puddle of sweat this morning. Like a HUGE one lol. I guess this is from rehydration along with the left over tan in my pores even though I scrubbed for like twenty minutes last night.

Rest day......NOT

Got in the gym and put that little cheat if mine to good use. Nice light shoulder/calves/leg day. Got the blood flowing and stretched back out.

no rest for the wicked eh..good for you monte, looking sharp day-after buddy!

had me a pretty good weight session myself today, upper body hypertrophy, was pretty damn swole..
highlights included lugging up the 150# DBs for sets of 3 flat bench - the three reps part was rather easy..the hard part was getting them up into position lol......felt pretty damn beastly tho, throwing them things down when I was done ahahaa..strength was thru the roof, everything was fairly light

got my issue of ESPN body mag today - was dreading getting the prince fielder cover - alas, I got venus Williams

I guess that's an improvement

in other news: new phase has begun, a pre-phase before the bigger phase....stay tuned for more info....

Monte 5th in your first comp is an awesome start to your competition career! You brought an impressive package and should be proud of yourself.

You're the reason all the dbells are loose at my gym :nono2:

And the lazy-ass staff that won't take the time to tighten the dang things up, of course :banghead:

hey man, they're encapsulated & coated thick rubber DBs, made for just tossing on the rubber floor ;)
what I'm supposed to do, set those things down gently?
things are hard enough to get up by myself, I ain't trying to wear myself out even more with that put-down-gently nonsense

Wouldn't know, I'm not strong enough to use them :)

But those big rubber ones are awesome - they really are perfect to toss, no joke. At my dirthole gym they have the old metal ones & like every dbell under 160 in that place is loose. Dumb show-off kids think they're so hard because they're pressing 90s or something. Cool, look how average you are - just wanna smack em!

The old cast iron plate style dumbbell's are referred to as pro style dumbbells. And if those 150's are actually rubber coated, then I wouldn't be dropping them too hard, as the rubber will tear and chunks will fall out eventually. Now if they are urethane encased, then I'd feel a bit more comfortable dropping them from a safe distance, as they are a lot more durable. But it's not like I sell dumbbells for a living or anything. ;)

We've got the nice fat grip urethane bells. I wish we went to 150s. Lucky. My best is 6 with 130's. I struggled to even get them up to my chest to press them it was ridiculous. I fully understand letting them bitches drop. I don't like doing it but hey failure on those is a lot harder to control than 80's that you repped 30x.

I just wanted to say that Monte did awesome at the show. His posing was on point, he had a nice relaxed smile. His conditioning was top notch, I mean really impressive. There were a few guys there that were just simply beasts. Some guys about 5'8 but the top of the weight class just looked insane up there. Lots of guys showed up in really good condition. The only thing Monte needed was just a bit more size on his frame. However he looked like a class act up there on stage. His posing was right there with everyone's except one or two guys who were very good, but they stood out above everyone not just him.

I have some pretty good shots on my camera but it is at home so I need to pull them off and will send them to Monte or post them up for him somewhere. I even took pics of some of the other guys so I can show you what they looked like in comparison I figured you would want to see that too.

Montana, it was a joy being able to help you out. I think you did a great job and put what you needed to into it. You should be proud of yourself the rest of us definitely are!

These were the first call out, just look at the size on these guys. All are around 5'8 by my best guess.

Again, I've never competed, but all-in-all you looked way better than the rest, Monty. Some were larger, but you just looked like you had a more rounded overall package.

Kudos to you too, Snags. You're good at what you do.

He's not good.

He's fuking amazing. Period. Best shape I've ever been in. Never thought I would even be close to this in my life....just wait though. It's about to get real.

monte's conditioning shined for sure - and what's even more amazing, you guys that don't know where he was at just 3-4 short yrs ago, he has come an insanely long way, I mean epic proportions (i will let him share, if he cares to)..
kinda scary when he says now "it's about to get real"....

kleen - nice pics man, cool of you to be there
yeah there was some big ol' boys there for sure - that show has got to be one of the biggest regional shows in the country

Yeah, I know you will add on some serious mass in the next year can not wait to see how it looks on you.

Yeah it was a huge show, I was really shocked at the turn out. The first call outs in LHW were all beasts, some of them not insanely conditioned but all big thick mc'nasty's. You had him in great condition though. Not that there was any doubt, but yeah he demolished a lot of the guys for conditioning. Not just in the novice class either.

The guy who won novice heavy. The second from the left. He won the novice overall two weeks prior in another show so he shouldn't have been in the novice category. He won the novice overall in this show too and was first call out in heavy weight open.

The black guy was first call out in heavy weight open as well.

The guy beside me in green placed ahead of me somehow. Don't understand that.

And in the lhw open I placed tenth. Sucks.

Yeah. Think I touched on this quite a few times.

In 2009 I weighed 300lbs with a 46" waist. Had knee surgery and ate blue bell ice cream every night for six months straight.

NEVER again. Since Sunday I've been more driven then ever. Intensity is off the charts. Focus is on one goal. All I have been thinking about is this off season. The next year is going to be the hardest and most grueling time of my life hopefully. It's going to suck but if all goes as planned I won't even look like the same person come this time next year. Like I said. It's gonna get real.

I never wanted to ask but I wondered that for a bit.. Insane transformation man.

Wow really cleaned up nicely Steve. Not a surprise so much as an observation. We all know you can manipulate diet pretty amazingly.

thanks gents
training going really well - PHAT has been pretty fun and prosperous I think....dietary maneuvers are really dialed in right now, got a really good feel for this ebb & flow thing I got going on, in the zone nicely - assuming good health and continued on-point hormonal manipulation, I do believe I can add some quality poundage for the stage next yr indeed

so not to touch too much on that hormonal aspect, but - the plan in the near future is an eq/test combo, long duration..
in the meantime, I've put together a nice little oral/sublingual/transdermal plan that should get me thru the next 6 weeks
highlights include a sublingual run of Synerbolics 3-MHD (msten/hexadrone/dmz) that I will be running a separate log on in their forum section, and then bridging that into a combo run with Dermatr3n from Olympus Labs....this will be my first experience with a sublingual PH/DS, and also my first foray with a transdermal (aside from Dermacrine) ... looking forward to the continuation of my education & experience!

6oz turkey burger + 5oz turkey breast
jasmine rice + black beans
oriental stir-fry veggies
~675cals, 60g carbs/16g fat

total cals today coming in ~4850

Geez. Don't know how you squeeze in 4800 cals. and keep them all clean. Can't imagine what your grocery bill looks like! Yikes!!

well to be fair, ~500 or so of those cals include postWO shake, which does include dextrose...
but yeah, aside from that I keep things very clean lean and micronutrient dense the great majority of time
as for the grocery bill - yeah lol (sigh), it does run me a lil more to eat consistent quality but I find it well worth it
I try to shop smart and stock up on things when they are on sale :)

A good way to do it. In your current situation you can set your entire environment up to cater to your bodybuilding lifestyle. No wife and working from home alleviates a lot of the extraneous bullsh!t. That being said you have more drive than most to actually take advantage of that as to where many would simply choose to relax or take it easy.
