Montego an Snagency tag-team with FINAFLEX in the corner

Today was rough. Long long day at work. Walked a TON......a railroad car is about an average of fifty feet long and let's say I walked about oooh 700 of those in loose rocks wearing steel toe work boots. So around six and a half miles give or take. No cardio for me tonight lol.

A bit sore today, mostly glutes (sumo leg press I assume). My knees are also a bit tender but nothing too bad.

Weight has gone up a couple lbs over the last four days......initially it dipped about five or six lbs from glycogen depletion but it has gone back up another two. Diet has remained consistent so it's not glycogen unless my body is starting to store some of the other macros I've been ingesting as glycogen now since carbs have been lowered during this time (doubtful).

Mechabol should be kicked in now along with finishing week three of SD, so the recomp over this last week, even though short, was rather well timed. Hence the weight drop then spike.

Aaaaand that's about it :) some update pics in the next couple days.

for the last 20+years i have worn steel toed boots at work....know what i miss about them?

absolutely nothing!!! got free red wing boots from a truck that came to the plant once a year, i ended up buying skeetchers with my own dime because red wing didn't have wide widths, damn fat feet, lol...i hated steel toed boots...almost as much as i hate being forced to wear a friggin seat belt, lol.

Three weeks complete rest on my right leg. After that I go back for another check up to see how things are progressing. No boot but I've got it bandaged up pretty good. Hopefully it's good news in three weeks.....that will be seventeen weeks out.

It will b good news , I have no doubt!!
I got injured( shoulder) 9 weeks out n had to sit out for a couple... Doc said longer, but I just listened to my body n got back in the grind a lil sooner...
Play it smart , listen to ur body, u will b just fine...
:)
U still gonna kick some a$$ Monty!!!!
U know it!!!!

Smart for a Canadian ay? Great advice for real though lol.

Hopefully this is how it goes.

I am a bit nervous that the slight tear won't repair itself though. It's VERY small but still some hgh would probably help :P

I'll still hit all my upper body stuff besides Deadlift :( and I'll have to be a bit creative on some things but I won't be sitting out. Depending on how things are going next leg day I'll try extensions and curls just to see what the pressure on that area feels like.

hgh or igf. do it

Chest action

Very awkward today to say the least lol. Never realized how much the feet come into play :P

Flat bench
4 sets of 1.5 reps of twelve

Incline bench
4 sets of 1.5 reps of twelve

Incline db
Three sets of 7-9 reps

Hammer Strength inner chest press
3 sets of 6-8 reps one drop set past failure

Seated cable flys
Fst7

Skipped triceps since I went to the gym late.

Glad to hear the second diagnosis was pretty consistent with the first. I would probably avoid the leg extensions, I flex the hell out of my tibia when doing leg extensions. Maybe if you point your toes instead of flexing the feet at the top but still. You have built some pretty good legs you will be fine with 3 weeks off. Now what you could do it is some hard flexing for your quads. You know just flex as hard as you can and hold for 30 seconds rest 30 and repeat. Might even deepen some of the separation between the quads.

229 lbs +25lb increase for this injured fatty

Don't get into specifics or anything Monte, but what is your current caloric intake per day. Just curious what you have been able to work it up to so far.

Around 3200ish. Like yourself though I don't need a huge calorie excess to bulk though.

Nice 3200ish aint bad at all. Hoping I can get there before full on prep starts. We shall see.

Took yesterday off. My dumb leg isn't aching today so I'll go in and hit back.

Gonna have to eliminate my bb rows though. Meadows rows too. Deadlift too. Sad sad day.

On a side note my chest is sore :) I forgot to mention in my last workout I did stretch pushups too. Think those did it. I used db's on the floor with a semi supinated grip. Felt awesome.

Man looks like you will be doing supported rows for a little bit. I am sure you can still crush your back only thing to really miss out will be the erectors.

Yeah. Gonna hit db rows on a bench and hyper extensions with weights. Any ideas are welcome lol

Also I'm gonna need you to go to the show lol. I'm still lost on everything going into it and unless I fly my coach in from the great white north youre all I got :)

Hmmm you should give yourself an extra month to recover and do the show in Irving on Aug 16th with me. It is a National Qualifier. I think I am going to be stuck at my sons B'Day party on July 12th. Momma looked at me crazy when I told her the show was on the 12th. Let me see if I can work something out because i wanna be there for ya too!!!!

I didn't thing about the hypers but yeah those shouldn't bother it too much. Does your gym have the HS Low Row? That is a pretty good mimicker of the bent over row movement since you do them high. HS Dorian Rows would be good too. Heavy Nautilas pull overs would be a great finisher too if your gym has one.

If I'm feeling crazy I might do both :P but the show on the twelfth is my main goal. That one is definitely gonna happen.

Let me see what I can make happen my friend! Like I said I definitely want to be there for this. Would be great if you could do both the first one will be a whirlwind and may have you out of sorts but the second one you would be experienced, more comfortable and less stressed. If I can get it so I can go to yours it will be great because it will give me a refresher on everything.

Have you contacted the show promoter? You are going to want to find out what the situation will be regarding if you can apply your tan in the backstage area if the hotel allows you to do it in your room. If anyone is allowed backstage with you and if so what do you need to do to make sure the person you want back there is allowed. Each show and forum has different rues regarding that kind of stuff. I didn't check into enough things before my show and ended up surprised on a few things. Also you will want to find out what time weigh ins are and what time your group should be doing pre-judging so you can plan your carb up to peak for pre-judging.

go with professional spray application, and you need not worry about such things..just bring your own sheets, or ask front desk if they have old ones not in service

I would advise anyone to go professional route, is sooo much better than self-application

It's nice to have them do the touch ups back stage... So much easier, lol...
:)

See I want even thinking about that kind of stuff....now I got more to worry about lol

Nothing to worry about.. That's what snags is for, lol....
U will have a written instruction package...
Don't sweat it...
:)

Might need to fly that guy into town with promises of steak and grapefruit.......

Exactly. And I found, as well as a lot of my clients, that the first show is usually the best. The nerves and "worrying" usually makes you more prepared because you are trying to think of every possible little thing needed. After a couple of shows you tend to get in a nice routine, but I always seem to miss one or two little things. Lol.

Yes , I was so depleted( a lil grouchy, ha ha..)
My main thought was to walk on that stage like I own it!!!!!
The judges can tell if one is nervous....
Confidence is key!!!!

why take a chance on color not looking right, or being unevenly applied, after you've trained so hard for so long and are getting up on stage to show your stuff? .. it just makes sense to get it done right, do not skimp and try to save couple bucks..silly
and yeah, getting touched up on-demand is a damn nice perk too

Might need to fly that guy into town with promises of steak and grapefruit.......
hmmmm, steak & grapefruit...tempting stuff, there

In all honesty, it's funny how the armpits turn green if u sweat, ha ha ha.....
That's some funny sh!t...
There was 1 guy back stage , poor bastard was sweating so bad , his whole body turned green, lol...
Thank god for touch ups, ha ha ha......

Exactly. That's all part of posing, which many don't do right. I've seen guys come in 3 or 4 places lower than they should have because they didn't know how to pose and didn't show confidence. They have a tendency to pose all scrunched and balled up, rather than expanded and poised. Makes a huge difference on how you look on stage.

Well I know I'll be dialed in physique wise with Steve guiding me that's for sure.

The posing and stage presence I've definitely got to work on. Baby steps right now. Working mostly on relaxed and mandatory poses. The routine though......Yeah gonna have to give that some thought lol.

Oh man that would have been awesome! My only show was a natty show for FAME, and they indeed told us they were quite different in how they run the show and do things. One thing they did not do was send out an instruction sheet with all of the info. We knew that we couldn't apply tan in the rooms, and found out that I never got a schedule for when the pre-judging was going to happen or anything. Found out the night before when already behind on carb up that the Advanced Guys were going first at 9:00. If I had a coach I could have easily called him and got a change up on my carb up but I didn't and ended up coming in flat because I was deathly afraid of spilling over if I added to many carbs. I lost 7 lbs that night and woke up looking like a Fitness Model.

I sure hope my first one wasn't my best or this next one is going to be a soup sandwich...

DO IT, DO IT! I'll even toss in some sweet potato fries...

So let me ask this Snags, how many coats do you have them apply? They sold me on 3 and my tan ended up running everywhere once I got under the hot lights. I plan to use Liquid Sun Rayz again but thinking I may go with only 1 or maybe 2 coats. What do you or anyone else suggest? Is one enough to do the trick or do you need at least 2 coats?

Oh yes!!!
I focused on making my poses look effortless , like I wasn't even trying, while my whole body was shaking inside, ha ha ....
Btw, I still pose in between my sets when I train, ha ha ha....
It gives me a good pump!
Practice makes perfect, lol, no shame in my game!!

You have to pose on the regular, it's just what we do. ;) I still pose every night right beofre I go to bed for 15 minutes religiously. It's probably the main thing I have learned to focus on that mind/muscle connection.

Yep Steve told me to start going that a few weeks ago. I feel like such a tool in the gym hiking up my shorts to hit poses though lol.

And I'm ghostly white so ain't nobody wanting to see dat lol.

Kleen , lmao.....
"Woke up looking like a fitness model", ha ha ha,

VVVVV

Fk em!!!!
It's all about u right now!!!!!
Tan r no tan!!
U r on a mission, in a dog eat dog world!!!!
( it's nice to have a base tan though, lulz..)

Just what Mag said. If you're worried about what people think of you in the gym right now, then you'll show that doubt plus some when you're on stage. This is where you need to be selfish and do what YOU need to do to make sure you come out on top. Don't give two sh1ts about what other people think. They don't know what it takes to be successful in this sport, and don't know what it takes to transform their bodies to the level that you're at. Keep looking down on them, while they keep looking up. ;)
