minor in biology pointless?

I am an exercise science major and I have been thinking about minoring in biology. Since I need to take the majority of the courses for my major and would need an additional 3 courses for the minor would it be beneficial to have a biology minor or would it be a waste of time? I am going to probably become a physical therapist after my undergraduate program. If I do ever change majors it would be biology though.
 
you would be more diversified. i am a business management major with a minor in psychology. the more well rounded you are, i think the better off you are. i am sure there are some courses that will overlap and count for both as well.
 
Yes definitely go for the bio minor. I personally recommend switching to bio as a major and minoring in exercise science. The career prospects are brighter for a bio major. You may even wish to stay for a bio masters, in which case your projected salary could easily be 6 figures ++. This is my field so trust me, the minor is the way to go.

This fall semester is what, your first or third I am assuming? What school do you go to? Most advisors, especially at the bigger universities, are preoccupied with their research and teaching their own courses. Figure things out for your-self, it'll be much more effective. Most schools have online course catalogs. Go through these in detail.

For example, for my bachelors in chemstry there were courses listed under sections. So let's say I needed one course from section 1, section 2, and section 3. But looking through it looked something like this:

Section 1: Course A, Course B, Course C
Section 2: Course D, Course A, Course E
Section 3: Course F, Course B, Course G

So in this dumbed down example, courses A and B satisty all three sections. Therefore, you can take two courses instead of 3. Does this make sense?
 
Many schools offer free advisory services. I know I never took advantage of them, but many friends did. I was lucky in that I knew what I wanted to do after undergrad.
With a BSc in Exercise Science, you can go into med school after if that's your thing. The bio minor might help a little, although some physiology/anatomy might be more relevant. Best thing would be to talk it over with an advisor IMO, or with some upper years.
 
In my experience the advisers weren't as helpful as you might expect. I say go to your school's website and grab the course catalog and any other relevant documents. It isn't that hard to figure it out with the right documents in front of you and it is usually all online these days.
