scales are a tool along with the mirror, using the right tool for the job is key to getting it done right. it all depends on how you define your goal...
 
Guys, thank you all for the comments, seriously. Great day at work, rested all morning and an almost 4 hour fire throughout the evening. Im beat, but still feeling pretty good. Will be back at the gym come Monday morning, and going to try and really step it up a few notches.

Try holding each rep at the top for 2 seconds and get a good stretch on the down. I actually close my eyes for some reason when I hit traps.

When I look at training programs, I have learned that there are often seemingly small distinctions that are easily overlooked and we think they are unimportant - but they are the difference between a program working or not working.

For me, I read so many Mentzer articles as a teenager and had moderate success. When I came back 15 years later and went over his protocol again, I realized I was throwing away a lot of his distinctions because I thought it didn't matter...Or maybe because I thought it was too hard.

One thing he always said was that a rep should be 4 seconds up, 2 second contracted pause, 4 seconds down. I totally overlooked this because my ego would not allow me to use a lighter weight to increase TUT. I would just rep away. And I was working hard....Just not effectively. I saw some results but as soon as I realized this distinction and accepted it, I saw more consistent progress. I also think it is a huge part of the reason I lift relatively heavy weights for my size, yet have 0 joint issues like a lot of other people on this board (knock on wood).

Well put. Like I say I wish I would have lifted smarter when I was younger. It was almost all ego driven. Big weight no matter what BS, screw form to out do the other guy.
 
Ok guys, Im working really hard in here,
Trying to get stronger and stronger, and leaner and leaner. Then this guy , lets just call him "Matt" creates this little magic pill that seems to give me energy for days and starts having me look like Im getting said leaner and leaner, you know feeling good about myself. THEN IT HAPPENS..."Matt" comes back in here, and says "hey guy, before I started this company, I could deadlift an SUV, but now I can only lift compact cars. With a pause. TUT. Strapless and belt less" . So now I feel bad about myself, and instead of lifting, Im going to crawl back in the bed and eat cheezits and gummie worms. Way to go Matt. Way. To. Go. Lol



FYI, Just Kidding. Nice numbers, before AND after. Ill get there. Oh. Woke up this morning for a lift, and I could be wrong, but I think I saw an ab. Just 1 though

LOL! Actually starting the company and a car accident sent me back. Bro I was OBSESSED with powerlifting! It was all I thought about for years, competed in a few state meets, met some amazing people that changed my life.

How the heck are you doing? I wanted to come back in and check on everyone.
 
Hey guys!!! Sorry for my lack of updates, but trust me when I say Ive been swamped at work!! Had planned on updating Sunday Night, but as soon as I got to EMS all h3ll broke lose. Had to run a wreck where a mother was texting, blew through the intersection , rolled the car and hit a a powerline pole head on. Had to cut the car and get her 2 young kids out of the car and rush them to a pediatric trauma center. The night went down hill from there.
But, Im back, had an awesome workout today but didnt get to video any of it. Was 218 this morning when I woke up and it was still dark out. I weigh more when the moon is still shining. No updates as for noodz, thatll wait till Friday, but Im throwing this one in just to excite Studhorse.
