agreed, and yes OP you`re crazy:lol:i take 3mg a night and it knocks me out fast. i feel like im drugged up. im scared to think about taking 6 mg. if you have not tried it already, use 3mg and see how that goes. then move up from there. =)
3mg is enough to make me sleep like a baby. I do feel a bit groggy if I don't get at least 6 hours of sleep so I'd just pop a stim in the morning to make me feel like a lion.

Ok wtf happened? last night was the first time I ever tried melatonin 1.5mg (I crushed the mg pill in half) and this stuff kept me awake all night long. I couldn't sleep for more than an hour.
i take 1 tablet a day but seems no efect...
ok for one, .25mg-1mg is far more effective than 6mg. If you use 6mg youre not researching or learning.
Also, bottles are not the inal say in dose. This is perfect example. Some are over some are under...look at the real studies not the label.
I would strongly suggest STARTING at .25-.5mg~ yea yea you got the tabs, so do i. its called a knife. make a half cut, then another half cut, there ~.75mg doses. I LITERALLY, nibble some off the tab these days for a few reasons. Itll last waaayyy longer.
You wont chance dependance as fast OR messed up seratonin levels which could result in anger, sleepy feel, irretability, etc etc. These are neuro transmitters youre messin with. I suggest you do research.

The best sleep combo i have used to date is my current. 3-4g GABA, .5mg~ melatonin, 500mg~ L-Dopa, 1.4g Piracetam.
I used to LOVE Neurobalance with GABA and Melatonin, that was some ridiculous sleep/dreams.
If I chew them up, I can't stay awake more than 30 minutes....Melatonin is a wierd drug. It tells your body that it's dark, and to prepare for sleep. It does not actually make you tired like a sleeping pill would. I actually enjoy taking 3mg melatonin, watching some tv for about 2 hours, then crashing. I feel like a zombie when I'm trying to walk around on melatonin. LOL!

Maybe ill try a bit higher dose. Ill do some experimenting over the next few weeks and then report back or make a thread. I just get worried about seratonin levels and everything else. I understand it is a good antioxidant and yes, skin improval has been noted in others.

understandableserotonin is not something to mess w/- I used to dabble with E and other assorted things back in the day- gotta be careful with anything that alters neurochemicals (or any homeostatic process in the body)- better to start low 1st, so I completely agree....
3 mg is considered a maximun, and to some nutritionists, a high dose of melantonin. for those of you mazing this up to 6 and 9 - how long term have you been employing this for. one concern in melantonin production in the body is its role in migrain headaches.
How the F are "nutritionists" gonna know S*** if the scientists don't even know what the longterm effects high dosage are?
BTW high dose melatonin is being researched currently to fight against certain types of cancers, the results so far are very solid.
