I'm not anti Jew or anti Mel Gibson. However I have to say I find this story funny as hell. Talk about being caught redhanded... I never saw reason to think he was antisemitical (is that a word?) But if this isn't a smoking gun I don't know what is.

I think he's finished in hollywood.

I think he's a regular, generally nice guy who was raised by an ******* and bears that burden, among others, of hatred perhaps without even knowing it. Kind of tragic in a way to see an otherwise congenial guy with a ****load of talent let something so blatantly stupid drag him down, meaning his alcoholism and whatever degree of anti semitism he carries.
 
He definitely stepped in a pile of doo doo. I don't think he is finished...he has enough money to weather the storm of boycotts et cetera and he already has a bit of a rogue standing in Hollywood, but it will definitely cut off some opportunities for him.

Letting a racial slur slip out is one thing, but going on a tirade about how Jews started all the world wars and ruined everything seems to indicate a much deeper core of actual beliefs.
 
People have a short term memory. If R. Kelly can piss on little girls and still sell albums then Mel Gibson is fine. Maybe this might be the avenue he needed forced on him to learn a few things and change his perspective.

It would be anti-judaic. Anti-semetic is a misnomer...a very common one, and I normally wouldn't bring it up, but you asked :) The semites include a larger population than just the Jews.

I don't think he's done AT ALL. No christian on the planet will stop supporting the man who made "The Passion of the Christ", and especially not in the US. Remeber the following that man had with the release of the movie? This isn't the first time the world was convinced he hates jews. It didnt' hurt him then, and it won't hurt him now.

A shame though cause it should. Anyone that holds hate for a whole sect/race/religion should be affected.

Maybe Gibson was pissed off about Iraq and Lebanon. I mean, it's one thing to blurt out something like 'i hate all the ****ing jews' and another to say 'the ****ing jews are behind all the wars' when Israel just started a war with Lebanon and the neocons (many of who are jews) pushed for the on-going war with Iraq, oppose a cease-fite in Lebanon and some of them want to widen those conflicts to Iran and Syria.

I still think it's wrong what he said, but I wouldn't have taken it personally if he had accused the ****ing whites of starting all the wars. (i'm white)
 
He was drunk!!! There have been many times I have talked mad **** while drinking and wake up the next morning and regret it. It's almost like waking up with a fat chick. People need to stop taking **** to heart.
