Meeting with endocrinologist tomorrow

Meeting with my endo tomorrow....prolactin has come up slightly elevated on 2 separate tests now (19 and 20 vs. Less than 18 reference range). I am still waiting on an MRI of my pituitary. Have all the bad symptoms from prolactin including low libido and weak erections. Is it unreasonable for me to ask him to let me try out some caber while waiting for the mri? I want to get cracking on this asap in the new year....
 
You are already seeing a doctor who is taking the necessary steps to address your issue. No need to self-medicate. Let your doctor handle it.

Don't do anything to mess up the tests
 
Finished the meeting...he says everything is normal...wants to run an MRI of the pituitary....doesn't want to prescribe caber or bromocriptine until that is done...probably won't prescribe anything unless a tumor is showing
 
I agree with everyone here. You really should rely on your doctors with this one bud.
 
Yeah well its looking like I won't get anything from this doc which is fine I guess. After the MRI rules out a tumor I will probably just start looking to use a combo of natural test boosters and dopamine enhancers to see if that works.
 
FWIW, I have a small pituitary tumor that caused elevated PRL levels in addition to some other problems. My doctor did end up prescribing caber for me and it made all the difference (as far as the symptoms you described are concerned). I'd wait to see what they find out on the MRI. Based on what I learned and was told, unless it's huge/in a bad place/growing, they won't do anything to remove it anyway, as that's a bigger risk. But if PRL is elevated and it's been shown to stay elevated, there's nothing wrong with getting the prescription for caber.
