I've been reading and researching and reading...
but I am just frusterated with all of the "information" out there.
Over the last two years I've gone from knowing nothing about nutrition and exercise to become a new way of living. And with that has become a thirst for knowledge, but it seems like everyone says something different. For example reading articles on training...some guys overload with 12 sets for each muscle group..while guys like Jason Ferruggia say
do no more than 12-15 sets a work out, period.

So far I love Usplabs...I love anabolic pump, powerfull, and recreate and I'm waiting for Prime in the mail...
but I'm tired of spending money and hours eating right, eating often, lifting....and seeing small minimal gains.

Maybe its impatience, and the obvious fact that maybe i'm not lifting heavy enough to ignite the muscles to grow, or not eating enough carbs (which i guarantee i am)

I guess where i'm trying to get to is...has anyone else just felt frusterated at any time with this lifestyle

EAT, friend, eat like Phelps :p , and lift heavy. Try dropping to heavy sets of 5, and do singles one exercise per workout.

Yes, I get incredibly frustrated with having to continually tweak things up for myself... Mainly diet in relation to skin care along with lifting, which also causes my skin to really fluctuate... Just prior to attending my sister's wedding in July, I lifted weights about 3-4 times and within 4-5 days of departing Alaska, the right side of my face (right near my eye) swelled up! I pretty much stopped eating after that and started fasting on RAW Apple Cider Vinegar- yeah, didn't work, thus I had a miserable experience in California and ended up losing about 14 lbs within two weeks... I can't even eat peanut butter, thus I eat raw Almond butter, but that doesn't seem to fare well for me either, although I still eat it for the calories...

But yeah, I get depressed looking back at some of my logs and seeing how little progress I've made over the years due to inconsistency... Along with the amount of money I've spent only to end up being back at square one... Any who, just continue to stay positive, increase your caloric intake, and continue to train hard.

When you feel you need to take a break, take one. Take a week to free your mind, do something you've never done before, meditate, relax... Anyways, I don't know enough about you to really offer any other suggestions as your post doesn't reveal much, other then you don't seem to enjoy what your doing and your struggling to make your own decisions in regards to how you should set your workout up.

Thus I suggest you go on youtube, watch some funny videos, then hit the gym and stop worrying what this guy is saying or that guy is saying in regards to how many times should bench this weight or squat this weight for x amount of repetitions in order to build muscle. Listen to your body and go from there, or just start off with a basic program (Rippetoe) and see how that works out for you.

haha actually that Rippetoe was a suggestion I was looking for. I found a good 3 day program with only complex movements. Gonna start it next week and run for a while with tons of calories, Prime, AP, and powerfull

I feel you Carpee. Physically I have seen gains, but I never get that ripped and huge look i want. Strength wise over the years I have seen the real gains though. Starting at a bench of 150 and now doing over 300 is nice.

But it lifestyle. Some people can and some people can't. I am one that can't. Out by 6 am and home at 6pm. Trying to eat right while running from meeting to meeting. Then trying to make it to the gym and do a proper workout.

I have spent a lot on supplements, and yes, some of them do work and others were a total waste of money. AP for one works for me. Combo with Dcp/Recreate and I reshaped my body a bit.

I got angry though and gave up and took hdrol for a month and then I saw physical results. Was it worth it? yes...will I do it again, more than likely yes.

As for the eating, I am sorta afraid of carbs, I don't wanna eat to much and get fat cause I do quickly. It is annoying. I have a terrible time shedding weight. Plus to eat properly and eat a lot is a lot of money.

From personal experience, I have found that the only way to actually change my body is to lift AS HEAVY AS POSSIBLE.

For example, prior to this summer, my chest sucked. I began working with a guy who asked me what I had been doing for chest, which was training HIIT style mostly. From that day on, he had me lifting as HEAVY as possible, tons on singles, tons of negatives, no more high reps. And let me tell you, my chest has absolutely exploded these past 90 days.

A lot of the above posters have been recommending singles and reps of less then 5, and if I were you, I WOULD LISTEN!!

i only max out each part once a month. be careful as you can tear ligaments, my left bi took 2 months to heal. remember to do a very good warm up and STRETCH. BIG WEIGHT = BIG MUSCLE
