Marijuana and Bodybuilding

im a supporter and big fan of MJ and all of it's medicinal purposes. the only thing ive been noticing is this morning hangover that ive been getting on the nights that I burn. there has been talk of MJ interfering with REM sleep so Im wondering whether its related. anyone else get the same effect? its like you are tired even though you got a good amount of sleep, versus a night where ill sleep 5 hours but still feel more energy if i didnt burn before sleep.

I refer to this as a "weedover"
 
ahh i dont wanna drop $$$ on a vape.. 5 years or so ago i had a modified water pipe and variable temperature heat gun combo that gotvape sold. marketed heavily by B Real and mike tyson lol that thing worked amazing until i broke it. now id want to get something nicer
 
i dont know about its effects on bodybuilding as that is really dependant on the individual, i think alot of people react differently to bud. I myself hardly feel relaxed more like the opposite. I also somewhat believe that when i was 14 or around that age my excessive smoking may have gave me a small case of gyno. I have seen studies on that showing male teens that used throughout adolescense had more cases of gyno. And libido...yeah i wouldnt get horny while i was stoned, now maybe afterwards ok but this shows me it probably decreases testosterone, at least in me.

must be different for everyone because when i light up, i get horny as hell... no gyno here bro
 
Any one ever try smoking some refer, taking a yohimbine cap, and whatching some sitcoms? I wanna here someone else tell me how it worked for them before I buy yohimbine just to have a scary high. I was thinking about making my weed time a fat burnig time.

can't say i've used yohimbe but numerous other stims that i've tried make the weed have very little effect. although i am a pretty heavy smoker
 
Ya. I personally love weed with my preworkout. Yohimbine is kind of weird though in the since that its not really a stim, so much as something that intrferes with the "too much" signal on the norepinephrin feedback loop. thats why Im wondering how it would interact with stoned fun.
 
I get stoned everyday of my life you know what im sayin'? Like its a part of my daily regimen, i dont workout stoned because i just dont think that would workout to good. But ive became alot calmer since i started smoking,i look at things differently, listen to different things. Most the time im smoking Exotic too so ive kinda built a tolerance to it.
 
Lol THIS IS MY THREAD! I smoke up just to get to sleep at night but dam when u get a good clear headed high, O my god yes. Can't smoke during the day though cuz I ruin my diet.

And for some reason whenever I get baked now I feel pissed off at everyone cuz they all seem so stupid! Its weird. Its like everyone is so obviously full of ****. Lol
 
Arnold smoked weed. Clearly didnt have a negative effect on him.

I've found that, when using a pre-workout supp and I workout in the late afternoon or evening, all the stimulants aren't out of my system by bedtime and I cant sleep unless I take a hit. Since sleep is important for muscle recovery, I'd say weed is an important part of my supplement stack.

Also, if i take a hit with my pre-workout before hitting the gym, I dont get the jitters or rapid heart beat that a lot of pre-workouts cause. Just gotta be careful to take a light hit.

Lol it couldn't hurt brother. Just toke up, if anybody wants to know, i know how to make THC pills, no smoking, just pop a pill and your high for like 6 hours. Just thought it would interest yall cuz i know yall' some pill poppin' animals.

I started again after I got injured recently but I'm not going to lie I feel like the stuff holds me down, I just stopped this week because I started a new log and want to dedicate a lot to it but I am trying to stop for good.

Alright, this is how you make THC Pills err-body'.



1/8th oz herb. (I used regular mid-grade the first time)
4oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
32 Empty Gelatin Pill Sleeves.....that's it!

Now the fun part begins.

1. Put your herb in a blender for 2 minutes, till it is powder. Add a few tablespoons of water if it is super dry.

2. Move all herb into another container, use glass, it makes the process a lot easier. Then place in freezer overnight.

3. Remove from freezer, and in same container add your olive oil slowly! Add a little bit, then stir, a little bit more, stir, but stop when you have exceded saturation point (when it starts to look more like a soup than a mixture).

4. Place in microwave for two minutes. (covered! I made that mistake)

5. Remove from microwave, stir vigorously, to help break up any particulates or clumps.

6. Place back into microwave for another minute.

7. Remove, you want it to be thick...almost like a tar. If it is still runny...zap it again. But DO NOT LET IT SMOKE! If it smokes, it's burning your WEED)

8. Stir, till it is even. It should at this point be a dark amber, but NOT black!

9. Line up your empty pills, inside your filler. ( I bought 1000 empty gel caps online size 000 with a filler, for 15 dollars. If you do not have a filler, this is going to be harder. Look at step Z at the bottom of my post.)

10. Take a spoonfull of your mix, then place it over the filler. Next use a playing card(clean) to evenly smear over your empty pill containers, so they are all evenly filled. Repeat till all pills are filled, then place tops on pills.

11. Repeat process till all thc mix is used.

12. Place pills in freezer for One day.( you can do this for just a few hours if you want.)

13. Clean up....thats it!

14. The fun begins! Just like cannabutter, you have to be weary of your tollerance. I'm a medium heavy smoker, and 2 pills of this from schwag, kept me high for almost 9 hours.)

15. Take one pill your first time. It will take about an hour and a half to kick in. If you do not get your desired effect, take ONE more pill. But be sure not to drive anyplace. This will knock you on your ass. Seriously, the only time i have ever been this high, is when I smoked 2 blunts of Afghan Kush BY MYSELF.

16. Place pills back in freezer, or in the fridge. I like the fridge, because it doesn't take as long to digest.

17. That's it! They will keep for a long time, I've started makin these all the time now, instead of actually smoking. I only smoke when I want to be high for an hour or two. These pills should be used for weekend use only people. They are very strong.

18. NOW GO HAVE SOME FUN!!! YOU WILL BE AS HIGH AS ALL HELL...BUT YOU WON'T HAVE COTTONMOUTH!

Z. For those of you whom do not have a pill filler, this is what you will have to do. Take your tar mix, and add about 1oz oil. Place in microwave for 20 seconds. Mix, till smooth and workable. It should be about as thin as the oil was to begin with. Then use an eye dropped to place into your empty pills. Place caps on, and put it in the freezer (or fridge).

I know this process is kinda long, but theres many reasons why this is awesome.

1. You can keep them in an empty bottle of one of your supps and store it, therefore people think its that supplement.

2. You can pretty much pop it in public, no smoking, no FED's on your ass.

3. You stay high for soooo much longer with 1 PILL, and it's a better high compared to a WHOLE blunt.

This needs its own thread! I was becoming a real stoner. I had too quit because Im getting tested, and I have noticed a ittle endurance from better breathing, but thats it! No other upside I still wanna get high all day!

i dont recommend pot use when lifting/in everyday life. i smoked medical grade daily for 3 years, the last year which i worked out daily and usually got high right before a workout. It wasn't until i quit

i noticed how much the weed set me back. I dont see any harm in smoking here and there, even as much as 1-2 times a week. Just make sure you dont turn it into an everyday thing like i did. and DONT i repeat DONT smoke right before a workout, i didnt notice till i quit how dangerously higher my heart beat got when doing cardio.


i do strongly believe there is something with pot and weight loss though from my experience......... i guess the future will tell.

When you say there is something with pot and weight loss, can you elaborate? Are you saying you lost weight and if so fat or muscle or are you saying it prevents wt loss? Thanks.
 
Not to be a stoner who says weed is all good and no bad, but can you elaborate on the heartbeat/cardio thing? Are you saying that after years of smoking you couldnt keep your BP as low. I quit too, until this drug test I gotta take, and although I have noticed improvement, I still think Im gonna start again and try vaping next time, so Ill have gunk free lungs. Hopefully thatl fix any problems. As much as I was smoking, and holding it in for way too long (some times Id take a huge hit and hold it in until smoke didnt even come out), I think that my lungs were getting pretty dirty.

As I poseted on previous threads about this subject. I think it should b legal. Use to smoke/vape for years. Probably will also toke up when I get off this next cycle of gear. With that being said, I've posted responces about this before and people were SCREAMING for studies. soooooo........

Marijuana and low testosterone: the two go hand in hand. Yes, marijuana is a "herb". Yes, marijuana is a "natural plant". However, none of that is going to change the fact that marijuana is a one way ticket to low testosterone, erectile dysfunction and fertility problems. The political debate regarding marijuana may be interesting, but the research shows it to be debilitating and potentially deadly long term.

Marijuana assaults your precious hormones in almost every negative way possible, especially testosterone. One study after another has shown that cannabis lowers testosterone. For example one research team found that "a reanalysis of existing data established that testosterone levels are depressed both after smoking one marijuana cigarette and after intravenous infusion of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, a pharmacologically active component of marijuana". [1] The same study concluded that it would take at least 24 hours for testosterone levels to normalize after marijuana use. (NOTE: It's not just the smoke - an IV will do it.)

Another study found that not only was testosterone decreased after short term marijuana use, but leutenizing and follicle stimulating hormone were lowered as well. [2] And just to add to the endocrinological misery, the arch-villain and stress hormone cortisol was raised as well in this same study. There are also studies in animals and humans that strongly indicate that marijuana blunts growth hormone response as well.

Imo when it comes down to real world results it really doesn't make a noticable diferrence in gains, all other factors being equal. At least that's my personal observation. I get ****ty sleep without it so that would impact my gains more than mj its self

It seems like they took the little bit of research against it here and based their whole artical around that. This was an artical written by a human after all. It even goes so far as to say that study after study shows how bad the stuff is, even though every where I look claims that few human studies say it affects test, and more say that it doesnt. On top of that, I would expect smoke to lower test, as anything unhealthy generaly dose, so I dont know if I buy that a vape user with clean lungs is gonna have a testosterone problem.

These studies we done 30-40yrs ago w some of the $hittiest herb ever, 2.8%. You have better luck getting high smoking the grass in your yard.lol

I also find it entertaining that the article put out is pretty Biased. NAIHC (North American Industrial Hemp Council)
If they were using herb w 2.8% THC. The study with lowering Testosterone says smoking 2 joints with 2.8% had no effect. Thats 5.6% THC that the patients were getting.lol When I was using I was gettin that kush. minimum of 12%.

As far as the rest of the article I was TOTALLY shocked by its effects on protein synthesis

THC may reduce the synthesis of DNA, RNA and proteins and modulate the normal cell cycle.

Even if it says that "high" amounts were used, would herb w 12%-15% be considered high if the normal was 2.8%
I had no clue until now about the protein synthesis thing, deff what u dont want if ur looking to gain lean muscle

Ya that last part is a bit scary, although Ive never heard of a stoner with trouble getting fat because their fat cells had trouble produceing DNA and RNA lol

Thnx. Enlisting in the army in a couple months so I'm sure ill learn to sleep like a baby in basic lol
