Hold the parents accountable and shoot them too? Guaranteed crime cut back there?

Well. Let's just execute them all then. Why bother and send the, to prison, or free them. To assume they are going to kill someone is far fetched.
You do as you wish,, I'll keep my guns loaded, thank you

That is a far fetch speculation. How often do thieves get identified and how often do they come back to kill their witness? Someone going for some cash does not make them killers by nature.
Would you be willing to take that risk with your family? I wouldn't. Do you know that he didn't kill your neighbor while he was in their house? No. Do you know he's unarmed? No.

Its a fair choice for you to make whichever way you prefer, but its not a higher moral ground to tell me that my choice is wrong. It may be technically not legally defensible, but there would be no evidence suggesting I wasn't in fear for my life. In truth I would be in fear for my and my family's lives afterwards if I didn't do that.

I'm all for that. Its far cheaper than the $40k a year it costs to put them in prison, and guarantees no repeat offenses. Its also an actual disincentive to perform crimes with a death penalty vs ones where you may just get probation for. Its a win win scenario.

i am a firm believer in the right to "bear" arms and the king of the castle laws but in this case the old man had no right to do what he did. the intruder had no weapon and was no threat. i see this all the time in the street. people think they can do what ever they want.

holding someone at gun point is kidnapping in almost every state. you do not have the right to threaten someone with death because they might have stolen 50 bucks worth of stuff.

now if the 27 was covered in blood he might have a case.

king of the castle law's are just that, you are king of your castle not the castle next door.

Down the street from me last year,, four kids broke into a house,, three were killed, shot in the back, running away,,, the fourth kid was charged with their deaths,, the home owner was only charged for the quarter ounce of weed he had on his coffee table!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!
i remember when this happened, in Arkansas they have to be past the thresh hold and have to be armed. that is if you kill them. you can shoot them in the leg or arm if they are unarmed .

On a side note, people own cats to kills bugs, snakes, and mice. My cats love to catch them outside and bring them inside to play with them till they are bored. I found a snake in my shoes while putting them on last year, and one of my cats just brought in another baby snake.

A wounded man can pull a trigger,,, takes longer to determine if they're armed than it would for them to kill you if they are,,, that law sucks,,, lol

i gave my Mama a mossberg 500a1 last year, told her to aim center of there chest and pull the trigger. laws a lot more lax on women. but im a pretty good shot, id rather take out a knee cap or two before taking a life. and yeah a wounded man can pull a trigger. for me if they have the gun visible its 2 to the chest one to the head. but if its not visible and there on the ground you can finish them off before they can draw.

IMO fair warning is when the broke in. after that all bets should be off.
