This video is pretty freakin' cool!

Look how brave the little baby rhino is - he's trying his hardest to fight off the hyena pack, even though he's only a few weeks old.

The narrator says the Lion was just heading for a carcass, but he seemed to go out of his way to mess up those hyenas...

I'm at work...I can't watch it. Does the lion then eat the baby rhino?

I would think he'd be naturally inclined to make a quick snack out of the rhino.
:hot:

Nope - he attacks the hyena that's trying to eat the baby Rhino, and sets the rhino free, who then rejoins his mother.

Its a night-vision vid, the mother rhino is trying her best to defend the calf, but they hyenas can see in the dark, rhino's have piss poor eyesight, even in daylight.

My thoughts, lions do not like hyenas and hyenas do not like lions.

Enjoy this clip with music: :D

That was great, I really hate hyenas for some reason. I think the mother rhino gave the lion daps before they headed out.

I saw the original program where those first video clips came from. It's, IMO, the best peice of animal cinemaphotography ever where the male lion comes back for revenge. That last hyena he's mauling is the alpha female of the pack. He broke her back in that attack and left her for dead..totally messing up the hyena's pack hyerachy.

It blows the silly PETA-hippy argument that animals "only kill for food" away. They murder when it's convenient to them as well..it's just not as physically easy.

Yeah, looking at animal sociology shows you we're not very far off...the more intelligent they get, the more brutal they can get toward one another. Elephants, Hippos,Lions, Whales - all can do some pretty evil **** and are highly intelligent animals.
