M5aa solution in Prop Glycol

Is it possible to get somewhere around a 10mg/ml solution of m5aa into prop glycol? I've heard something about prop glycol not being as good as peg400 due to its polarity, but I've got a ton of prop glycol and no peg400. Any input, guys?
 
Could you just try it? 1/2 gram is only $1.50, should be a pretty cheap experiment. Leave it over night to make sure it doesn't percipitate out. If it doesn't you could always bump up the concentration.

Yeah, I guess I could. Would you recommend heating the prop first?


EDIT: Would 151 be a better solvent?
 
What does PG taste like? Not that concerned, just curious.

Also, are there any long-term negative effects to drinking PEG-400, or PG, or any of these solvents?

PG is dry but not as nasty as peg. I'd prefer it anytime I could. Diols are kidney toxic, but it would take double digit ml's over years to have any measurable adverse effects (even if then), the ph's are worse than the solvents. These are common solvents in phama. preparations oral and IV.

I've never used PEG-400, but it's supposed to be a much better solvent than prop, so try it out. The worst thing that can happen is you'd just have to add more PEG. I might've even been able to go higher concentration, but when I saw clumps, I freaked and threw in 100mL more of prop.

This is how I did it:

1-Preheat oven to 225
2-Put 100mL prop (or peg) into mason jar
3-Heat for 20 minutes
4-Throw 2 grams m5aa in (that's what I tried)
5-Heat 20 more minutes
6-Take out and put lid on tight
7-Shake like crazy
8-Take lid off and mix with hand held blender

Then, I repeated steps 5-8 about 2 more times till it went in.
 
Does anyone know if Prop Glycol is available at any retail-type stores, or if it has to be ordered online?

I just don't want to pay shipping on such a small order.
