Lost/Stolen Packages claim process?

Has anyone had to deal with the claim process?

I had a package that said it was delivered by UPS to my house during the day. Thats what the tracking said. But when I got home there was nothing there.

I contacted the shipper and they said contact UPS. That was done now a trace has been sent on it. I guess they just follow the route of the package or something.

So now I'm stuck waiting to see what happens an payment for $250 it is due on the 4th by Visa.

I really don't wanna pay for something I have no idea where it is.

Has anyone had this problem.

I think I'd check with Visa. They may well have some sort of policy on things like this. Just a thought.

that sucks.. I have never dealt with that but redwolf is right..
Call you credit card company..Most have some sort of policy for things such as your situation.

Yeah I had this happen to me w/a $180 part for my car. What was even more peculiar was UPS "SWORE" that someone had signed for the part. Now noone signed for the part so I started to begin the investigation process when I found the car part (without the box) in the front yard. I am sure that the UPS driver left the box on the front porch WITHOUT A SIGNATURE and the dog carried it off, chewed the box up and left the steel part in the yard. UPS told me that the company who sent me the part had to request the investigation; that I couldnt request the investigation

Ive had this happen before too. I contacted UPS and had the trace put on it, turns out the driver delivered it to a house 2 streets over. Luckily the people at the house were very nice and didnt mess with my package.

Your credit card company should give you a refund for goods not recieved. If you dont end up getting the package, call your credit card company and explain that you paid for goods that you did not recieve, you'll get your money refunded.

*side note - thats why ALL online purchases should be made with a credit card that has this kind of policy*

I've had this happen twice and the company solved the problem ASAP. This is also I reason I make a habit of working with quality companies. That 1 time you are stuck in this spot dealing with a shady company makes you regret dealing with them.

So UPS is a shady company? LOL, just kidding, the reality is that no matter what company you are ordering from, shipping of the product is done by a shipping company which we are at the mercy of......we cooperate with UPS trace investigations and give them all the info we have....but can you explain to me how the the company that you dealt with "solved the problem ASAP" since they were not the ones actually making the delivery? Just curious because I have dealt with UPS in the past and there is only so much we can do.

I have honestly only had a package stolen once, and when it was confirmed to be lost, a replacement was sent the same day. That company will never lose my business.
