looking for a sleep aid

KILLAMAC, if none of the above work, try Phenibut. Nutraplanet sells it in bulk powder. Many people use this as a sleep aid/for relaxing.

Additionally, make sure you are not consuming caffeine within 6 hours of going to sleep. Even if I have one diet coke at 6PM, I cannot fall asleep till 1AM and it's usually a pretty crappy sleep.

That's incredible :jaw:

I could drink an energy drink 2 hours before bed and fall asleep no prob. with my sleep stack.

I guess it depends how exhausted you are, what you are using as a sleep aid, and how well it works for that individual.

This is a prefect example of how everything effects us all differently !

tranquil sleep....it's good stuff...i only need half a dose to get that relaxed feeling. at that time i close my eyes and i'm out...really vivid dreams if i take the full dose...also used i-gh-1 by lg sciences and got the deepest sleep of my life on that

Yes, it's a powerful antihistamine with potent anticholinergic effects. This is why it's often used as a sedative/hypnotic or anxiolytic. Doses as low as 6.25mg are effective for sleep. I would start very low with this and adjust as needed. I wouldn't dose above 18.75mg. From my own experiences once you hit 25mg the side effects become much more pronounced.

Nyquil is the most popular OTC product that utilizes this, but you can buy the Unisom "sleep tabs" to avoid acetaminophen content. This is probably one of the best sleep inducers I've ever used and I like it better than my ambien in many instances. The only drawback is the anticholinergic effect can leave you feeling "hungover" in ways during the morning hours.

Don't these type of drugs inhibit nocturnal growth hormone release? If I'm not mistaken drugs with an anticholinergic effect will suppress GH release just like drugs with a cholinergic effect will increase GH. Can someone confirm this???

Picked up some Unisom sleepgels because they were cheaper than the tablets. Gonna take one tonight and I'll post how things go. Am also going to try X-dreams, should arrive next week sometime.

somnidren is #1
ibe x-dream is #2
i have used bolth and bolth work vary will.5 htp makes my drozy in the morning even after 8 hours.zma is so so

Insomnia has always been an issue for me. I used to take melatonin until I got serious about working out, and had to give it up. Since then, I have tried my share of sleep supps, some good, some bad. Xdreams works good make you want to sleep, but sucks at keeping me asleep. Somnidren works slightly better. However, for these, as well as any other sleep supp to work, you have to mindful of the stims you take, and when you take them. Stims can be anything from nicotine, caffeine, most pre-work out supps, ect. Most stims are active in the body for up to 8 hours, and depending on your body's sensitivity, can stay in your body and effect you for up to 12 hours.

Another suggestion to also keep in mind, is that for those having sleeping issues, don't use your bed for anything other than sleep and sex. Don't read, watch tv, etc in your bad. It is also important to get your body into a pattern to reset your clock. This means try to go to bed and wake up at as close to the same time as your can. This will help reset your hormones that trigger sleep. Hope this helps.

me too i have sleep problems nowadays maybe it's because of my workout routine. i usually have this ZMA and it helped me a lot...

dude, phenibut hands down is the best sleep aid you can get w/o a prescription, period. Diphenhydramine is fine if you wanna wake up all groggy and ****. With the phenibut it stays in your system for a long time and you actually wake up feeling refreshed, highly recommend it, I take SNS because it comes in convenient capsules, others prefer NP's bulk powder.

Go with Melatonin man. Go with like 3 to 5 mg. Its only like 9 bucks.

Melatonin is cheap and effective, but has some nasty side effects that are often over looked...and this is coming from someone that has had a long love affair with it.

Melatonin comes 3 mg. 5 mg. and 10 mg. The more you take, the more it reduces your natural testosterone. This is very bad news for those who are serious about building muscles.

Secondly, when you stop taking it, headaches are a very common side effect associated with melatonin withdrawl.

Tryptophan and valerian root together would be a killer stack to sleep with no side effects. For those who don't know, tryptophan is the compound in turkey that makes you sleepy. Both are really cheap and can be purchased at most drug stores.

Well, took 1 cap of the Unisom sleepgels. They contain 50 mg diphenhydramine. About 45 mins to fall asleep. Woke up once to take a leak. No problem getting back to sleep. Got about 9-10 hours of sleep. So they work but it isn't really the best sleep. Also I woke up with a killer headache.
