Awesome PR!!

Crazy man. That's some heavy singling.

I get so made when I accidentally chop my video. I blame the phone, of course.

I'm usually pretty much done after my top set too. Still though, you stick with it for a couple.

Have you tried the new c4? Also killer sessions man. Making good progress.

Yep, been moochin' some off my little brother. Haven't used either the old or the new enough to give an honest review, but I've had some good sessions on the stuff.

And thanks! I've got the next 20 weeks of training written too. Looking forward to where it'll take me.

How would you compare it to straight caffeine? I was curious about it. I want something simple. Katana zones me out which is weird since nawgen drinks hit me like a ton of bricks. Both have citicholine too.

Do you tend to stick to the plan as written or change as needed as you go?

It's better than straight caffeine. It's not large enough a difference to justify the price difference though. But that's because I'm stingy.

And I rarely deviate from the plan. If something isn't working out the way I planned or I'm not making the progress I predicted, I'm open to change though. I attribute the progress I've made over the past 18 months (added roughly 200lbs to both my squat and deadlift and around 50 to my bench) to this fact. I think there's something to be said to writing a plan and sticking to it. It breeds consistency, and at the end of the day, that's what this lifting game comes down to. Now, I'm not naive to the fact that advanced trainees will organize their training much differently (i.e. more auto-regulation...among other things...this post is long enough lol) but I'm not there yet.

Ah well since I'm also stingy that would be hard for me to buy too. But I do have some store credits to use. Thanks for the feedback.

I deff agree with this. Also your progress has been pure awesome.

Thoughts:

Last day of "unnecessary" assistance volume. Time to recover a bit as I prepare to test my squat and bench in a few weeks.

A real peak/taper would look very different, but it's not like I'm doing a meet so I don't feel the need. I've been through and have written my fair share of tapers as a swimmer/coach. The same principles apply.

Stay strong AM.

Strong front squatting

Strong front squatting

Thanks, HJH.

Learning how to effectively brace has been the game changer in my squat, but #2 has been the incorporation of paused fronts and paused high bar. I'm extremely comfortable at the bottom of the lift and they've reinforced acceleration out of the hole. Not saying they're vital for everyone, but with my style of squat, they're awesome.

I feel very good at the bottom too. That makes us best friends. lol

You really think the assistance work is unnecessary?

I tried to high bar yesterday and felt very uncomfortable, oddly.

Assistance work is about context. Reread my post. In saying assistance work is unnecessary, I'm speaking in reference to my immediate goals (i.e. testing my squat and bench in 2 weeks).

And it's because you don't do it very often. You're stronger, trust me. It would just take a few sessions to be able to display that increased strength with high bar. How you approach and execute the movement (physically and mentally) is different.

Felt like crap all day. Headache, serious GI distress. Just woke up and projectile vomited a few times. Hope I wake up feeling better. I'm NEVER sick, so I'm hoping it's a 24hr bug or something.

It can't be too serious, you're never sick.

Hope you feel better later in the AM

Sounds like your pregnant man...lol

Seriously though, hope you get over it quick.hopefully it was just something you ate.

Woke up feeling normal. I think turf is right, probably ate something funky. Thanks guys!

Busy day today. Gonna have to train at night. It's essentially a deload anyway.

Glad you're feeling better! ...just wanted to say- adding 200 is freaking awesome!! Amazing progress!!

Good work man! KEEP THAT **** UP! HA!

Uneventful session. Final heavy squatting Thursday.

465 went relatively smoothly. Undecided what to attempt next Saturday. We'll see how I feel on the day.

Heavy benching and some light accessory tonight.

Stay strong AM.

My critique is it didn't look like a true 1RM lol congrats on the PR you dirty dog

Thanks! And I'm conservative, maybe too conservative. I'd rather play it safe though. With squats, I'm fast or I'm in the floor (see my front squats from a week back lol).

Hey man, you're building momentum. No rush for the 500 wrapless. It will be there before you know it ?

Any critique of my squat from earlier, HJH?

I watched it many times and I didn't see anything worth nitpicking over. You are a very good squatter, undoubtedly better than me, and I think you have an impressive ceiling with your knowledge, form and build. Keep it up!

Thanks, brother. Really appreciate the compliment!

Your beast man! Killed that squat. But I agree go for what you can get, no point in possibly missing a lift.
