Older pics, but only minor changes since they were taken. I'm thinking I'll make it through this quarantine ok.
Wow if I had all that I would cancel my LA Fitness membership! Your fortunate to have all that extra space. Due to space limitations I just have adjustable dumbbells that go to 200 pounds, an adjustable bench, a calf block, and a Nordicktrack Incline trainer that i
broke my bank for because it goes to a 40 percent incline.

I mean, it's only a 2 car garage and a shed that I built when I bought the house.

My goal is to have my own home gym similar to that when I own a house with shelf full of supps, mainly pre workouts plus a glass fridge full of RTD's and such. Maybe a vintage arcade game machine , as well.
Sounds like a plan. I got married instead.

So I think I am good. Tons of sales on gym equipment and I am getting paranoid my gym will eventually shut so I bought a barbell + 300 pounds so I think I am good. I have a ppullup bar, heavy resistance band, and bench too plus 420 total pounds of weight now. I can gain on this at my level. Already had the pullup bar so all of this costed me around 350 . Not bad

I am finally going to have my OWN HOME gym. Unfortunately I am renting but I can fit all of it in my car and travel. I don't have that much to where its a problem. Once I am established, I plan on getting a leg press , another bench/rack cardio equipment, etc. That won't be for a while though, lol. Don't have that much money

Probably going to cancel my gym membership after this. Only needed a pandemic to finally get the home gym I've been wanting. Thanks corona lol Just need a bunch more 45lb plates so I can do heavy deads again.

Anyone else cancelling their gym membership after this?

I'm not sure , but I definitely am not relying on corporate businesses , gyms , etc. This has really made me aware that it's good to always be prepared and plan ahead for the future. DIY is always the best

You guys think it is possible to achieve the same level of muscularity with just adjustable dumbbells that max at a total 200 pounds combined and an adjustable bench as one could achieve at a gym?

The same level of peak/optimal muscularity in the long-term, over years? Not quite. For practical purposes in terms of progress made for non-elite athletes/physique competitors/bodybuilders over a few months? Yes. With perhaps the exception of legs, which will be harder to work without the ability to do squats and/or deadlifts, although there are still ways to hit legs.

In other words, unless you’re a pretty high-level athlete with a ton of muscle mass, you should be able to make very solid progress with what you mentioned. Will it be 100% optimal? Maybe not, but what is really?

Edit: chest will be easy enough, with variations of flat/incline and maybe decline presses and flyes, depending on your bench, and push-up variations. Pullovers too.

Shoulders should be very easy, between raises (front, lateral, rear), presses (military press, Arnold Press, etc.). You can also buy a standard barbell (the same diameter as your dumbbells) and then you’ll have up to a 200lb barbell you can use for cleans, shoulder presses, shrugs, etc.

Arms I don’t really even need to mention TBH, super easy with dumbbells, and maybe a bar like I mentioned before.

For back you have rows. 1-arm dumbbell Ross on a bench (one hand and one knee on a flat bench), bent over DB rows (unsupported or with your chest supported on an incline bench, pullovers, and barbell rows of you buy a barbell. I also highly recommend buying a pull-up bar, perhaps one that you can use in a doorway, that way you can also do pull-ups and chin-ups.

Legs you can do split squats holding dumbbells, lunges holding dumbbells, squats holding a single heavy dumbbell in front of you (or cleaning up a barbell and doing front squats), RDLs holding dumbbells or a barbell, and those things where you’re on your knees and use your hamstrings to lower and raise your upper body to the floor (do only controlled negatives and push yourself up if they’re too difficult).

Calves can be a bit difficult, but I guess you can do 1-leg stuff since you have limited weight. Find a block of wood or a raised doorway or a step and you can do one-leg raises, maybe holding a weight while you do them?

I'd say until your doing 20+reps on any given exercise with those 200lbs your going to make progress

Nice! How do you like those dumbbells?
Well, the good news is that I can hang them from my barbell to increase weight at home. The downside is that because it's essentially a 4 sided cage around the handle, I can't really do certain movements like overhead triceps extensions or DB pullovers. Overall though I like them for the space saving and relatively quick change out of the weight.

Looks like you have everything you need, and the few movements you can't do with those dumbells a bare plate would work. Keep training and staying safe !!

Interesting. Can you not hold the outside-support-bar-things for those exercises?

Sort of, it's a bit awkward. And the more you stack on the outside in terms of adding weight plates, the less room you have to fit your hands in and grab the outside bars. But again, all in all it was definitely a worthwhile purchase for me as I've been using now for a few years.

For squats, literally balancing the barbell on two big trash cans . Surprisingly works just fine

Did 8 sets of back squat warm up, 6,4,6, 10, 15, 12, dropset
4 sets of front squat 10,6,10,10
4 sets of barbell walking lunges

leg ext 4 sets
leg curl 4 sets

romanian deadlift 4 sets

bulgarian split squat 3 sets
bodyweight walking lunges
calves
