Leave this here to help understand squat mechanics.
Longer the femur to relative torso length, the more forward you become to keep the bar over mid-foot.
Is his squat ugly? Yup. But, those are the genetics he was dealt.
Except there's a barbell on your back and you're not laying down with your ass on a seat. But yah, other than that, same thing.
You missed the point. From a muscular activation standpoint (the hams, quads, and glutes) it is very similar. Why perform squats in a way that mimics the leg press? Either squat right or do another exercise.
Because he is a powerlifter and last time I checked how much you can leg press is irrelevant to powerlifting.
Fukin Layne douchebag Norton.... Obviously extremely smart, but a HUGE jackass. Also, does anyone really buy that he's Natty? Lmao...
I remember getting into it with him on Facebook, saying that yes, IIFYM can be utilized very well, but that I felt better energy from 'clean' carbs as opposed to say a poptart. He claimed that I was spouting bull****... Well, come a year later the idiot makes an article titled 'macro sources matter' or something like that, essentially proving that 'clean' food sources acctually are better.
hahaha that's what aragon was up in arms about with me....calories in vs calories out for fat loss assuming protein amounts are the same...I said assuming protein is equal I feel better and prefer lower carbs for everyday living, and I was a troll, an idiot, blah blah blah.....ok then, how I feel isn't as important as results in the gym I guess
some of these guys try to be too smart rather than using common sense
I know bro, Aragon is equally as arrogant. I made the argument that while poptarts and a multi may be good, whole foods and minimally processed 'clean' foods are better, and that individuality most certainly exists, and that's why different things work for different people, so it's important to be open minded and try new things. Nope. They just insisted that because they have studies, it's automatically assumed true to EVERYONE. Lmao, close minded idiots.
But dont you see, its the somewhat learned and non-ignorant guys like yourself that are not Aragons typical target. He's going for the Average Social Media Bro and Sister who is scientifically naive and easily impressioned by fad nutritional cliches.
Of course, he runs the risk of being lumped in with the very ideologies he opposes, but as with any idea expressed in a generic cookie cutter manner, individuality will be somewhat lost and so it should be (once the grasshopper has grasped the basic principles, he can go on to make changes where it suits).
That's your problem right there.hahaha that's what aragon was up in arms about with me....calories in vs calories out for fat loss assuming protein amounts are the same...I said assuming protein is equal I feel better and prefer lower carbs for everyday living, and I was a troll, an idiot, blah blah blah.....ok then, how I feel isn't as important as results in the gym I guess

Show me where he says anywhere that you should neglect whole foods for a multi for health. Seriously, link me to a time he has ever stated that and I'll change my opinion on him.I know bro, Aragon is equally as arrogant. Here's where most people get confused - he knows health is important, but the healthiness of a food has no bearing on weight loss. You can lose weight eating high carb. You can lose weight eating low carb. You can lose weight eating healthy. You can lose weight being unhealthy.
He also knows there is individuality in terms of how you feel. That's why he says BOTH low and high carb work. People always say he's wrong because they say, "but I feel better eating low carb and you're saying high carb works, but it doesn't for me".
Leave your own feelings out of it. Both work provided protein is equal.
That's your problem right there.
Calories in vs Calories out with protein standardized is all that matters from a general point of view; your issue was that you argued a fact from an anecdotal standpoint (that you (n=1) feel better following a different method). He's not saying that doesn't work - he's saying of course it will work but don't narrow it down to "low carb works for me so it is better".
It is better for you, but that doesn't make it better overall. He's making generalizations so that those who think they must avoid fat or carbs to lose weight can rest assured they don't
Your viewpoint literally falls in line with what he is saying lolNo...your missing the point
I said i prefer such a method...so if all things equal...im going with what makes me feel better...not that it was better overall
It was just an outside opinion of the agenda he was pushing at the time...so he got his panties in a bunch
Like i said...i didnt argue the science..the article was fine...but i offered a viewpoint and he takes himself so serious that he couldnt handle it
Your viewpoint literally falls in line with what he is saying lol
That's like me saying, "both a wrench and a socket will remove the bolt, provided you can access them freely" then you saying, "but a socket is better because I prefer it"
You're agreeing with what I'm saying, yet somehow making it out like im wrong

Strength loss? Simply because of Calorie restriction or because the pop tart has magical strength sucking ability?if goal is weight loss and not health and muscle retention the pop tart under your caloric requirement will lead to weight loss, strength loss, performance loss, loss of sanity...etc...
Well that makes sense. The reason that crowd tends to hate on low carbers is because a lot of internet low carbers act superior than others.funny thing Is in my case, I wasn't even arguing the science, I was just sharing the fact that if everything is equal, that I'm going with what makes me feel better
but his followers might be worse than him, they started arguing things that weren't even relevant to what I posted
either way, some of these guys see they have ppl hang on their every word and get big heads when they need to settle down

I would never advocate for it personally, or ever advise anyone to substitute a pop tart for anything of value, but I also don't buy into the idea that choosing one food over another could make you weaker (if that is what is being said).Could be calorie restriction and the fact it has very little nutritional value.

They may have mistaken you for one of those
I get that vibe from everyone on facebook pages lol.Maybe, but thats how alan comes off and they follow him
I was only sharing my experience...its all we can ever do...not preaching that anyone should ever follow what i do

I get now what you were meaning
Different people respond differently to low carbs. Some ppl like my dad for instance, just get cranky and hangry easily on low carbs
That'll go away as soon as you do. Facebook flags accounts that do not obviously belong to a real person. You'll notice that a lot of fake accounts add you on facebook only to vanish. That's the bots at work lolYep, either way after that day I was booted from FB and asked to provide proof of identification
