Kratom strains

Just wanted to give another update on cbd oil (hope this isn't distracting too much from discussions on kratom). I have a very overactive "fight or flight" response. CBD seems to have a huge effect on this (way better than lithium or anything that acts through gaba). I've just been very calm and relaxed since I started it. Normally, anything more than 4 ounces of coffee (or equivalent stimulant content) would have me very jittery, angry, heart pounding ,etc. Well, since my family is out of town for a few days (don't want to be around others if there's a negative response), I decided to test how effective cbd is for me. Yesterday afternoon and this morning I tried 8 ounces of coffee to truly test this stuff. Nothing. No jitteriness, no anger, no heart pounding...it's crazy. I still got a small mood boost from the caffeine but cbd seems to completely negate the usual over-reaction...and at only 15 mg before bed. While expensive, it's definitely a staple for me at this point.

I can guarantee that I will never enjoy the taste either. Over a year later and I still nearly puke when it gets stuck in my mouth.

That said, I'm thinking I'll order another couple ounces here soon. I'll have my girlfriend lock it in the safe and hide the key because I have no self control. lol

What's the most euphoric strains you guys are noticing recently? I know the Green Indo is popular from Mile High I think? Atleast kisaj is enjoying it.

I like the PR bali. For a more euphoric feel myself.

MileHighKratom is running a sale on the cbd . add mace 15 and also get an additional 15% off on top of the sale.

I have to see what other labs we have . let me check.

I am absolutely loving this yellow vietnam strain from MHK. So far it has been the best strain for helping with my depression and social anxiety. Better boost of energy than green malay (or indo) and no real sedation later in the day. Great stuff.

What does everyone think of their white borneo? Would it be too stimulating for someone with anxiety issues? Some energy is nice as my depression tends to make me feel sluggish and unmotivated (which kratom does a great job of getting rid of).

Sorry guys, I've been going hard with clients in both my occupations and haven't had much time to post, I'll do bulk replies by the page.

I'm still toying with the white/yellow to get a strong feel for them. The fact that theyre more palatable to me is huge. Ugh... I mixed some green Indio in warm water last night and barely managed it. It does mix much better in warm water vs cold bit I struggled to down it. AND whoever mentioned applesauce... might have been my boy saywutrly, absolutely disgusting. I mixed it together and when looking at the pastey green slurry I had to choke down, I threw it away, no way I could manage that.

The "copious amounts of cinnamon" part is imperative. It is exactly how you describe it without cinnamon - very repulsive. The applesauce/cinnamon combo was actually a way I used to cover up mushroom flavor back in high school (dry, crush, stir) which is why it isn't a typical kratom masker.

I've found orange juice to work really well at masking the taste of the green malay I have (green indo and red thai on the way). As someone mentioned earlier, it does seem to require something acidic to mask the taste (or at least make it palatable).

Grapefruit juice also works well and lowers your effective dose due to enzyme inhibition - I think I forgot this one.

So I've grown to h a t e the taste/texture of kratom. I've found the reds and greens are the most difficult to ingest, while the yellow and white go down easier. Ime the greens and red provide a stronger experience as well. Maeng Da, all around, is my favorite strain. Red vein is nice and from what I can tell is identical to Maeng da, but requires a few extra grams to match the experience of the Maeng da.

I hate to bitch cause I have a tough stomach and generally can chug/pound anything but this stuff does not agree with me. Gotta pay to play I suppose, it's never stopped me from ingesting the stuff...

So how many of you have had the Kratom withdrawals yet when you run out? You all know it's an opioid right?

Neither do I .

I only get edgy because all my pain comes back. I was in a wicked car accident at 13 that destroyed my back. Once I get used to being in pain again, I'm fine. I see none of the prototypical opiate withdrawal effects; cold sweats, shakes, false fever, etc.

Yeah, that does seem to work. I've tried it and using an equivalent dose of kratom with orange juice and grapefruit juice, I've noticed much more sedation (but greater increase in mood) when using grapefruit juice. That seems to match my results when using higher kratom doses (1-2 grams is energizing and 3+ grams sedating but with a larger increase in mood) with just orange juice.

Just a heads-up to everyone that you can get 30% off your order at Mile High Kratom by using the code spring30 (saw this on another forum). Just ordered 16 ounces of Green Malay and 4 ounces of White Borneo (figured I'd stock up for a while with such a large savings).

Took a dose of kratom for a concert. It was incredible. Hard to believe this stuff is legal and does not seem to have any major sides

Don't be fooled. There are sides (withdrawals and addiction is a very real thing with this plant)

I have nothing wrong with someone who shares differing viewpoints. I have a serious issue, though, if they're a jackoff about it.

EDIT: Sorry, man. I thought you were the other guy who was in here a few days ago causing problems.

Yeah, but you're a decent person about it. And the deaf ears part is because not all of us get withdrawals. I'm not sure if it's because I've done much stronger stuff, but it's a common theme with this thing that not everyone gets withdrawals. You give anyone buprenorphine or something, they are going to be sick as an effing dog in a couple days when they're coming down. Kratom can be taken for weeks by many folks without visible withdrawal symptoms. As stated previously, my only symptom is being irritable when falling back into chronic pain from a car accident.

It's not the fact that kratom can't be taken without symptoms. It's the fact that along with it being potentially physically addictive I find the average person who takes kratom is/already has been addicted to something else. Within the mechanism behind kratom it could potentially make a addict's situation worse and even cause an adverse fork in the road on the path that is recovery.

Of course, magnify that with how addictive/ocd many people are in the fitness lifestyle and it could be a recipe for disaster.

Also, another reason why it's being watched by the FDA. Parents are giving kratom to kids as an alternative to pain medication when they have the flu or w/e. When that doesn't work they end up giving them nyquil or something to let them sleep. Because of the way kratom works, it could lead to potential addiction to non addictive substances(nyquil) when taken together. This happened in new york I believe. The same situation can be mirrored with nicotine and smokers. What ever make the individual feel buzzed gets that reward center all kinds of lit up. Give that to a kid because you don't want" big pharma" to win and it becomes child abuse, especially because of how vulnerable kids are to developing personality disorders when going through the prepubescent period in their life. Ever seen the show my strange addiction? A big portion of those individuals are exposed to pot, smoking, booze and drugs young thus building the disorder that makes them eat dry wall. Not to say this will happen to EVERY kid but...its a crap shoot.

You can be physically/mentally addicted to anything. I have family members who would not pay rent, take their kids to the doctor, and/or willingly risk their kids lives for a 1/2lb of pot, which is not physically addictive.

This wall of text comes from a place of compassion. Please, do your research, please use responsibility and please...don't combined kratom with other addictive substances if you know you have a problem. It's all fun and games until you trade your tren for a little bit of kratom.

For those who don't have addiction problems, Carry on.

Noticed this as well.

There is a whole subreddit of hundreds of people trying to kick their kratom dependency. *Most* were former addicts of heroin, Percocet and other "hard" drugs. They don't realize they transferred there addiction to another addictive plant.

I *use* to consume kratom. Coming off was harder than me stopping xanax (former addict with benzos).

All I'm saying is use this plant with respect and sparingly.

Curious what issues those that became addicted to kratom experienced. Having dabbled in a lot of things but never feeling like I have ever had a dependency on it, I don't know the feeling- is it mental or physical?

As pyrobatt said, people can become addicted to anything. I personally know many folks who actually used kratom to *quit* heroin and other strong opiates by using it to wean off. Invariably, some folks will become addicted to the other compound. How many folks buy an e-cig thinking they will quit smoking and end up using it to replace rather than quit their addiction? I guess that just proves the point - I was also able to use an e-cig to kick a nearly decade-long smoking habit and have now avoided both for almost 6 years.

Benzos absolutely cause a physical addiction and are hellacious to kick. Even if you no longer need the anxiolytic effects, just the pure physical addiction is dreadful. I can't imagine comparing that to kratom, but as stated, these effects seem to vary widely.

Some folks report standard opiate withdrawal symptoms. Many folks are able to use it without these effects, however, which is what we're currently discussing.

That said, I'd like to apologize for being so defensive right away. I'm used to that on the whole kratom thing, but y'all are capable of sharing viewpoints constructively. Thank you!

Both.

Outside of the constant cravings and building a habitual dosing (before work, before church, before going out ~ because I felt like I couldn't be as socially sharp or enjoy the environment without it) I had night sweats, brain fog, lethargy and constipation when stopping.

The night sweats and lethargy were the worst. Lasted weeks, literal weeks; No exaggeration.

Good post man. I dislike when parents subject their children to their anti pharma crusades and put them in harms way.

Kinda like anti vaxxers

Whoever they were, they had to be told by the administrator to keep things civil. Let's remember his advice, eh?

Lol just hearing or seeing anything about these people just makes me lose faith in all of humanity all over again.
I think that this is something we can all agree on lol. I don't agree with everything about Big Pharma, but it's a no-brainer why we don't have polio, measles, mumps, etc outbreaks in the US any longer.

Anybody know which opioid receptors Kratom affects? I'm curious if agmatine would be helpful in reducing the tolerance issues and also attenuating withdrawal symptoms for those that have experienced withdrawals when stopping.

Quick question, first couple times I took Maeng da it gave me a lot of energy at three grams. I've only been taking it once or twice a week but three grams doesn't seem to give any energy anymore. Do I need to up the dose or anyone k ow what's up??

If you take it consistently then tolerance will definitely start to increase.

Once or twice a week definitely should not build any tolerance, and 3 grams is very little. I take Kratom 2-3 times a week switching between strains, but have taken Maeng da 3-4 days in a row with no issue. I do take 5-6 grams though.

I would use a little vitamin C with your dose or agmatine. Those two things actually enhance Kratom effects a bit. Try that before increasing the dose. Also, NAC seems to help as well.

Switching between strains (red, green, yellow, white) often will help if you are building tolerance but, at only 2 doses of 3g a week I wouldn't think that would be an issue.

I will give that a shot! Is the vitamin c why I've seen grapefruit juice recommended? Also picked up a variety pack this weekend so I can vary the strands I'm taking a bit more. I just am not sure how many strands are good for energy and social situations like maeng da.

Are you taking it on an empty stomach?

Are you still taking it the same time of day. An under the same conditions?

Since more people see this thread, just wanted to post that kratom is 25% off at Mile High with coupon code REMEMBER25. I'll probably add more green malay to my stockpile.

Thanks! What Is your favorite thing about green Malay? Seems to be the highest recommended strain I haven't tried.

Helps a lot with decreasing my anxiety and depression. Whites work better for depression but make my anxiety really bad. Reds help more with anxiety but doesn't help with depression. Green malay is a perfect balance between the two for me.

Green Malay also seems to be the longest lasting strain.
