How many beers deep are you now? I'd be ashamed if your self quoting with less than a bakers dozen worth of brew in you..
Hahah. You're competing at 198, right? Better up the test, growth, and beer dosages. Mohawks increase your beer capacity. Fact.

Yeah, I don't know if I trust the scale. I'm feeling awfully skinny. I will re-weigh in a week.
smoker145 said:Same. I'm 176 one day, 184 the next, 182 today.... Wtf
Yeah it's normal. That's why I don't weigh myself daily, drives me nuts.
smoker145 said:Yea I'm gonna have to do a weekly weigh in soon thou. Gotta start my cut
I disagree with your decision. You should be getting bigger.
Cutting is for ***s. Unless you're hitting a national or world record and are 220+

Most def. I'm thinking he just wants the best total:bodyweight ratio, when he should be wanting the largest total possible.
Smoker, you, like me, are still in the infantile stage of this sh1t. GROW.
smoker145 said:I know it's stupid, but the possibility of getting a trophy is on my mind. I know I should be saying " who gives a ****" but I still think about it
Yeah we def think differently. Trophies don't mean dick to me compared to a big total. That's much more gratifying.
smoker145 said:The main reason for me competing is to have followed a program, a put a purpose on my working out. And to do a sport again. It's been too long since I've done something competitive.
The trophy is just a little tantalizing thought.

Which I ****ed up lol
I'm in the same boat as you with the exception of that last sentence. Material things aren't sh1t. I don't need a piece of hardware to feel accomplished. I need to know in my mind I punished myself every day to reach my goal and my total is the absolute best I could have done.
It's your first meet dude. IMO, you're wasting valuable time cutting when you could be growing and adding poundage. You're a grown man and will make your decision according to how you feel, but I know I'm going to be slamming cheeseburgers all day. 455/355/545, I ain't getting there on celery.
smoker145 said:I'm very envious of your total. Ill get there some day. I've learned a lot on my road to my first meet, and will now be more ready for my next one. I can't wait to step up and get a number for a lift. It might be ****, but that's my number.
The trophy isn't even about me, it's about proving someone wrong. My dad is a rough guy, and he has always thought I'm wasting my time and money with working out. It would just be nice to slam damn the trophy and be like " boom, bish..."
That's not my total. That's my goal and I'm going to have to put on weight to get there. I do this because I enjoy it, not to prove anyone wrong. I've never had a dad, so I don't know what it's like to have your paps belittle your goals. Do what you want, it's your decision. I just want to get stronger and have a respectable total.
smoker145 said:My bad, not sure how I missed that. And I love this **** man. I still remember when I hated going to the gym and could not go for weeks and not care. How times change.
Bottom line is, I'm just gonna happy to accomplish something that I did
Word. Nothing more empowering than smashing a PR. The biggest reason people stop going to the gym is because they don't know what the hell they're doing and spin their wheels. People on here put me on the right track and I'm damn sure thankful. We might have different goals, but I'm happy you're doing a meet. Maybe it will be your driving force to eat MORE.
smoker145 said:I'm convinced if I never got help from rob and then the others that followed, I would have gotten injured, or have been no better off in stregnth gains and remained stagnant, still thinking " what am I doing wrong"
CountryLiftin said:You gota eat to compete!!!! Get some. Nothing wrong with cuttin a little when it comes meet time, just not for extended periods of time.
I've found the powerlifting community one of the most giving. Everyone wants to help each other out and see each other improve. Much different than other sports I've competed in.

Hey I'm all for getting stronger but there's no point to getting above 15% body fat.
When I was 210 I was at 17% and tying my shoes was not comfortable because I was constantly bloated from eating.
I got a lot stronger but life was harder from tying shoes to going up stairs
