Hey everyone. I am about to start week 4 of a ckd. I picked up some ketostix earlier this week and they have been negative every time I test. WTF?
I had a mini vacation last weekend for the superbowl and I ate a modest amount of non-diet foods (beer, pie, etc) but I have been eating properly since Monday. It is now Saturday night and I still can't get those stupid sticks to turn purple (skipping carb up this week).
My diet consists of eggs, cheese, fatty meat, EVOO, some veggies, some pecans, guacamole 1-3x/week, and minimal carb protein powders. I lifted 4x last week with 3x 15-20 min HIIT. I have heard that citric acid from diet drinks can screw you up but I have abstained from these for two days.
I do drink a lot of water so my pee is very dilute. I guess that this could lead to a false negative but I don't have any metallic taste or any other real reason to believe that I am in keto.
Am I doing something wrong or should I just not worry about the sticks?
