Keto

I follow a CKD but strict Keto 6 days a week 1 carb/cheat day. Most people in here think you need insulin to build muscle, which is untrue! You won't gain weight very fast compared to a high carb but you will gain minimal fat and good quality muscle. Now for a training point of view once again people will say you need to carbs to perform which is sort of true, you can probably get a couple of extra reps in on high carb due to glycogen storage but I've never really had this problem and haven't lost any strength or endurance but I may just be a good responder! Yes you can bulk on it, it will be a lean dry bulk with minimal fat gain and almost no water weight but it's much slower weight progress than a high carb

How many do you guys use keto? is there anyone who is using this for bulking too?

I've done 6-8 week keto diets while cutting, but I've never tried bulking on keto. I think its possible if you ran a CKD diet, but it isn't optimal in my opinion. At the end of the day, your body prefers to use glucose for energy. Muscle glycogen is the primary driver for strength and performance output, so is it possible to bulk on keto? Sure. But you would probably feel better and see better results by introducing carbs on a bulk.

Any reason you're considering keto for bulking?

CKD stands for cycling keto diet? Like 7/14 days straight then carb load?

From people on keto I've heard that once get used to it their gym performance don't suffer and have the benefits of a leaner bulk as ketons don't store that good like fat (which carbs does).

I might consider it for next bulk first of all because I like fats more than carbs and if it allows me a leaner bulk even if slower this sound a better choice

For me personally I think it depends on your body type I personally feel and perform better on full time keto. When I occasionally endulge on carbs I feel like crap. With exception now of using ol assass1nate it seems to help with this. Also waiting on an order of slintensity to see how well it works. Otherwise I say give it a whirl, you may love it who knows.

Me personally for CKD I do 6 days strict 1 day loading but would normally have a pizza and some icecream in the evening for a cheat because I like food haha

When you're fat adapted you really won't feel the difference between carbs and ketones, well I don't! I actually have more energy during the day due to not have blood sugar crashes ect!

I'm a bigger advocate of fats too, a nice rib eye steak, avacardos, almond butter.... can't go wrong haha

Correct. And from what I've seen and read, gym performance increases the longer you are on keto. If you choose to do a CKD, I would allow your body at least 3-4 weeks of strict keto to adapt to producing ketones before you implement refeeds.

How do you guys reach your fiber intake during keto? For my size is suggested 20-30g but this brings you out the 20g carb limit

You only count net carbs bro so if something has 10g carbs 5 of which are dietary fibre, then you have 5 net carbs. Fibre is not absorbed like carbs.

I still count fibre as calories just not as carbs :) hope this helps

I've been doing keto for awhile now and recently paired it with "IF" and I feel great and still get stronger in the gym. I'm on a cut tho. With that said I don't limit my carbs to much when it comes to veggies. I just eat a lot of bok Choy, squash, zucchini, Romanian, spinach and broccoli. If I go over the 20g that day I consider it a wash with the nutritional value.
