Kaprice Goes for the FINAL 20 POUNDS!

Well, I'm crediting that exercise plus the chin ups for the recent arm growth!

We will see in the next measurement post.

Yikes! My triceps must have gotten a massive pump from my last arm workout -- I remember grabbing one tricep with my hand and remarking how thick it was. It's not that way now. It deflated! :)

That was fast!

I was out of my office all day and really dragging when I got home at 5:30p.

I was planning on taking a much needed nap, but my order of OxyMax XT was on the doorstep.

So, I took one cap and within several minutes, I wasn't feeling tired at all. I thought, "Well, I'll just have a nap, anyway", but I kept thinking of just one more thing I'd do first. Never did get to the nap.

It's 2.5 hours later, now, and I'm still feeling a nice, clean energy. I'm REALLY hoping that keeps up.

And I don't yet know how it well it will reduce my appetite. It claims to be effective at that. And, while the fat loss effect is appealing, I'm not going to rely on that. It's the energy, motivation, focus, and appetite suppressant that I'm most interested in.

The energy lasted through the evening and I felt good up until bed time -- though it's not a fair test because I didn't try to be productive. I just watched some TV shows. The real test is if I can stay productive without getting tired. We'll see.

But, it also didn't keep me awake. I was able to get right to sleep -- though I still haven't dialed in my bedtime habits. 1am. I stopped taking Dream N Grow to see if my libido would come back. It's edging back up. Good news is, I don't seem to need it, anymore. Maybe it did what it needed to do and daily doses aren't needed.

NOTE: There's no real evidence it was the DnG that killed my libido. On the one hand, it has some Kratom in it, and some takers of Kratom claim it kills their libido. On the other hand, no one on the DnG thread answered my question by saying DnG lowered their libido, so it could be the Kratom quantity is too low to affect it. So, even though my libido is slowly coming back, I can't be sure it's because I stopped DnG -- I've taken other measures to build it up, as well.

Woke at 9a.

This morning, I'll be taking Tribulus (claims to improve libido), Digestive Enzymes, and Nootrol.

I do find Tibulus gives me some (non-stim?) energy. So, I'll hold off on my next dose of OxyMax xt until closer to noon.

I was on the road, yesterday, and ate badly.

Tibulus kept me plenty energetic until noon. Time to take an OxyMax.

So far, I'm not all that impressed with OxyMax -- other than being wonderfully inexpensive.

I took a cap just before my 3 hour church block and 45 minutes in I was fighting off brain fog and a desire to nod off. I was hoping for better, longer energy from this supp.

OTOH, it does appear to be having a good effect on my appetite, and I came home with a sweaty dress-shirt, so I assume the fat burning is doing SOMETHING.

Hopefully, Lipodrene Elite will do better. I ordered it a week ago but it still hasn't shipped.

EDIT: Well THAT was embarrassing! Just after I hit the POST button, I looked to the left of my keyboard and found my untaken cap of OxyMax.

I had set it aside to take as I left the house and missed it.

So, I was tired and foggy at church because I didn't take it. AND, I was sweaty either because it was hot or I'm a sweaty pig. I can't blame OxyMax for any of that.

Haha ?

I liked OxyMax, good euphoric energy.

This is getting rather frustrating.

I took the week off from all exercising -- to give my body a chance to "reset" AND to give my calf more time to heal.

This weekend, I didn't do much, other than there was a lot of standing on my feet and a few times of running down the hall with one of my 1 year old grand kids on my shoulders.

Everything was fine but as I was cleaning in the kitchen last night, my calf started that initial warning and I found myself limping again. FOR WHAT?? The freaking DISHES???

So, I'm back to icing my calfs. UGH!

I'm really enjoying the combination of OxyMax and Nootrol. Seems to provide good energy and motivation to be productive. I just need to get better about DIRECTING that motivation to tasks that are more useful!

Icing after the first days of the appearance of symptoms is not so good.
Personally, I would use heat and compression.

Heat isn't mentioned in the article but helped me in the past. I used an infra red light. If you don't have compression stockings, use elastic bandages.

I had not heard that. I'd always thought icing (or alternating with heat) was best. So hard to know what's right.

But, I'll look into this. Thanks! And thanks for the link. That's a big help.

My order of Lipodrene Elite just arrived. I'm about to take my first dose and will report back my experience.

I'm on Day 3 and really loving how Lipodrene Elite makes me feel.

I was also selected by Hi-Tech to do an honest review (and optional log) in return for a few free bottles. SWEET!

I typically sleep in the morning until I wake up without an alarm. Since I still haven't kicked my habit of staying up too late, that's been around 9am most days, recently.

Since I get up when I feel rested, I don't feel a need for any kind of stim or appetite suppressant for 2 or 3 hours.

So, I'm taking my first Elite pill around 11 or 11:30. That's been keeping me energized and not hungry until somewhere between 3:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon. Then I take my 2nd dose, which keeps me from overeating at dinner, reduces my munchie cravings after dinner (which has been my biggest weakness) and gives me enough energy to be productive for a few more hours.

The energy is clean and non-jittery. It also works for sitting at a desk and not just while being physically active. That's critical for me and is why I stopped taking BurnX.

Soon after a dose of Elite, I feel fully rested and motivated to get to work -- though I've found if I have mental blocks about an unpleasant project, I didn't magically get excited about it. But, it's been helpful in that regard.

I normally need an early to mid afternoon nap but haven't needed one since starting on Elite.

As this log title says, my goal is to lose my "last" 20 pounds. I'd previously lost 5 of that and sort of got stuck at 230 to 232. But, I've not been trying that hard to keep my diet in check, so the fact that I haven't gained any back has been wonderful. Especially since I've taken 2 weeks off from my workouts.

But, I'm ready to kick it back into gear and really work on the next 15 pounds. Elite has given me hope I'll be able to do it.

I'd been taking OxyMax TX for about a week prior to starting on Elite and I'm liking the feel of Elite better -- though OM was quite good, too.

It takes 2-3 weeks to actually lose gains, time to swing into action, bro!

Yep. That's why I said this: "But, I'm ready to kick it back into gear and really work on the next 15 pounds."

:)

Lol. You don't lose muscle gains in 2-3 weeks. I bet 6 weeks wouldn't be long enough. I bet there are a ton of instances on this board where people take 2 weeks off and come back to be surprised they are actually stronger than before.

To be diplomatic, I agree :)

Diplomacy? I can take it ...haha...say what you think....you have shown me the light before. It just isn't easy!

Still missing a workout post from Kaprice . Going off for too long cuts motivation.

Starting on Monday. Will do 3 / week. That will make it a 2 week break.

The program is called Rebirth by Jason Ferrugia. It's designed to recuperate beat up bodies. So, not lifting very heavy and doing more functional muscle workout. I haven't completely figured it out, yet.

I've just taking pictures and measurements and working on making the pics presentable. Will post them soon.

This will be sort of the start of a new log -- or new phase. I'm finally ready to take my last 15 pounds seriously. I lost 5 pounds since the start of this log, but that was so long ago, losing just 5 pounds is embarrassing.

Still, it's 37 pounds down from my high. 15 more and I'll be at 215, which I haven't been since my late 20s. Maybe early 30s. I'm really looking forward to seeing how I look and feel there.

At that point, I'll try to stabalize for a bit and then decide where to go from there. Bulk? Cut further? We'll see.I think I might prefer to be 215 with muscles like Hairygrandpa's rather than 185 and a bean pole like Hit4Me (even though Hit still lifts double what I can do).

To be diplomatic, I agree :)

That's not being diplomatic. Diplomatic is when you disagree, offer a blistering insult, but do it in such a way no one can tell! :D

Like:

"@Kaprice 's motivation sucks, when I was fat I had that problem too." ...better? :)

My friend was about to go on a blind date and was nervous. He asked me, "I have no idea what to do or what to say. It's going to be so awkward."

I told him that if he begins the evening with a compliment it will set the tone for the date and everything should be fine.

When he got back I asked him how it went and he said, "Terrible! I tried to follow your advice, but the only thing I could think of was, 'You don't sweat much for a fat lady'".

jk / :D

Haha - funny thing is . No one in real life has ever called me a bean pole. I have been so big for so long...it took me a LOOOOONG time to accept things and be honest with myself. Without drugs, it is unlikely I will ever weigh much more than 180 @ 10% body fat. It would actually be a fairly impressive feat. I am a small guy at 5'8''.

And...it is interesting to see different phases of the journey ...I started out with a mind set like yours...slow and steady and healthy, then the crazy/aggressive/extreme side of me took over and I went all out for a while. Now.. I am back on the slow wave...mostly because life is getting in the way. Excited to see your next phase.

Haha...great way to put it.

He can't take the time to practice any new skills. If he stops lifting for 30 seconds, his muscles shrivel up and disappear.

Here's my NEW starting weight:

Invalid Link Removed

Goal is to be 215 in 2 months. Maybe 3.

I'm taking it serious again, but still not going to go crazy. Nor will I allow myself to be miserable during the process.

Here's my new starting measurements.

It seems clear to me that even though the scale went down, my 2 weeks off plus going lighter weights and higher reps had a negative impact on my fat and muscles. March 26 was included for a BIT of reference as to where I was. But I'm considering 6/3/2017 the NEW starting point for my Lipodrene Elite log.

EDIT: I wonder if it was just too many dang pics in one post. I'll try breaking them up into set of 3 to 5 in new posts below.

EDIT: Post deleted because it's no longer pertinent.

I got to bed at 2:30 last night and somehow woke and got up without an alarm at 7:30a.

Felt fine for a couple of hours and then took a Lipodrene Elite. That picked me up until about 4:30p. Took another.

It's now 8:15p and I'm dragging. But too close to bedtime for another stim. (sigh)

Actually, I just found my stash of the original style Thermo Gum from EvoMuse. It loses cohesiveness after just 2 or 3 minutes, but I'll see if that will pick me up w/o keeping awake all night.

Also, I'm giving Elite credit for getting me to bite the bullet and take measurements progress pics.

I'd been avoiding the pictures because all my lighting was taken down a couple months ago. Then the Photoshop work was tedious because my template wasn't set up for easily adding a new STARTING picture. PLUS, I had to figure out how work with a black backdrop this time.

My point is, I'd been wanting to do this for a while. Taking Elite finally gave me the push I needed: Partly because of it's energy and mood enhancers but also because they selected me to do a log so I knew I needed the starting pics and measurements.

I don't know why they keep going away. They were there then they were gone. I hit EDIT and SAVE and they were back. Then on my next post they were gone again.

I'll try the edit thing again w/o a new post. Let me know if they show up for you.

"Starting" Pictures with a placeholder for progress and ending pictures. I'll probably only do progress pictures at 5 pound milestones, not weekly. I'll probably do measurements every 2 weeks.

SOME of these pictures show some nice progress but others remind me just how far I have to go.

I was disappointed in this picture because in the mirror I SWEAR I'm showing a much nicer V chest starting to come in. Not seeing that at all here. :( BUT, the shoulder and neck and even upper pecks are startign to look nice. And better definition in my center chest, too.

Invalid Link Removed

I've mixed feelings on this one. Not near enough bulge in the biceps. BUT, we can start to make out a bit of separation between that and the triceps. Also, shoulders!

Invalid Link Removed

This relaxed gut is smaller than when I started, but still way too big.

This side view is for the sucked in gut but the two things I'm actually happy with are the shoulder and the side view of the back spare tire.

Can't see sh1t. :( You are doing it wrong! Kaprice , you have to figure it out, I thought you were a computer specialist. :)

LMAO

EDIT: GOOD GRIEF!
EDIT 2: Trying links instead of uploads.

More disappointment in the flexed arm, but the chest is reasonable, here. We do at least see a bit of a bulge of bicep then a dip then the shoulder. So it's progress. For the life of me, I couldn't find a good pose for my flexed arm.

Here's a failed attempt at showing some tricep definition. We'll get there.

My biggest disappointment. SO MUCH FAT stored back there!

Invalid Link Removed

In this next image, do you see those two bumps just to the right of the spine? One is slightly higher and bigger than the other. I'm pretty sure that's the result of a minor back pull I had this morning. I was simply unzipping a storage bag and my back twinged right about where those two bulges are. Could be I'm just selectively growing muscle, but probably the swelling/hardening where the pull was. :)

Pretty happy with the shoulders here.

Really excited to see how I'll look at 215. (weight, not time!)

DANG IT! What the heck is wrong with this forum???

EDIT: Good grief! What a PITA! There has to be an easier way to post pictures!

I see progress when comparing to pics at the beginning of your log!
It's coming slowly -but slowly is what you had planed anyway.
You could need a tan. With a white background you would be invisible. :)

Thanks. And why do you think I chose a black background? :)

So, I'm giving my system a break today. No stims. And fasting until dinner. Not even shakes.

I will take a serving (3 caps) of the non-stim fat burner, Lean Edge just before dinner. Other than that, I'm hoping the lack of food and stims will help my body reset a bit.

Bad news is I'm starting to get a cold.

Good news is I was down another 1/4 pound this morning.

I need to get tomorrow's Rebirth workout figured out today. Hopefully my cold doesn't get worse and ruin my workout.

Rebirth avoids barbell power or Olympic lifts. The goal of the program is to deload and let the body recover from long term stressful workouts. I don't know if what I've been doing counts as that, but I do feel like this is a good move for me.

The creator's claim for Rebirth is that after running ot for a while, recovery, movement efficiency, and athleticism will slowly start to improve. He claims long term super heavy lifting (such as squats and deadlifts) kill speed and vertical jump, for example.

It rotates between heavy days and light days and medium days. I don't know what "heavy" means considering it won't include the power lifts. We'll see.

The summary says the plan is to start easy and ramp up intensity slightly each week.

I see tremendous progress man, great work. Your arms are actually coming along nicely. Actually, you've made some good progress in a reasonable time frame - especially for an older guy :)

I have to admit, doing it the way you are doing, I probably would have given up. I am impressed to see your long-term progress. I know that sounds funny, but the benefit of being crazy is that you see results very soon. You have to have a lot of faith to take it slow and be that calculated. Good job.

I really appreciate that, Hit.

Getting old gives you the benefit of a lot of years of experience. I've gone through several stages of extreme efforts and while I always had some impressive results, I was miserable throughout the process AND the results didn't last long once I stopped.

I've done liquid cleanses, ultra low carb, ultra low calorie, etc. But I still ended up at 267 pounds at my worst.

So, this time I decided to try something that would be a lifestyle change. Something I could enjoy but still get results with. I'm happy with what I've been doing and my results have been okay.

I'm going to tweak some things now and see if I can do better while still enjoying life and keeping the results.

One thing I'm struggling with is that I think I've been at around 2000 to 2300 calories a day.

Multiple sources are saying calories for fat loss should be BW x 12. That puts me at 2700. I'm worried I'll start gaining if I go up that high. But, they claim it's needed to kick up the furnace.

Yeah, see, I'm a bit different. When I LIKE doing things, that's when I get extreme. I don't do things I don't want - but when I want to do them, it's all out. It's just my makeup. It's like you saying you were miserable doing it with the extreme efforts, I would be miserable feeling like I was going to be dieting for a looooong time. I'd rather go on a 1000 calorie deficit for 1 day than a 250 calorie deficit for 4 days. It's just a different mental makeup - and I think it's really an interesting thing to see how different people are motivated and by what and how.

Plus, the thing with this is - I didn't just one day wake up and do a PSMF or whatever - I started off making small changes. With each small change you master, you can do a little more and then a little more, and it builds. Next thing you know your habits are what some people might consider extreme.

As far as the 12 calories per pound of BW - it's a decent guide; but I will tell you that it isn't nearly as scientific as an actual experiment where you monitor your intake and see what happens. You have to be careful believing you're going to "rev" your metabolism by eating more. If that actually happened, you wouldn't have gotten fat in the first place....you would have just been revving your metabolism.

Here are two more pictures for progress / starting comparison.

I can't seem to get the pose that looks so great to me in the bathroom mirror, but this is close. The angled torso seems to give a reasonable view of how I'm trimming down -- and should be more pronounced when I lose 15 pounds.

Two views, one with the shorts high and the other low.
