Kaprice Goes for the FINAL 20 POUNDS!

Well, I finally (and briefly) hit 220 pounds.

5 more to go to reach my goal.

I'm feeling good and enjoying life.

And I am absolutely HOOKED on Lipodrene Elite. It does a great job of giving me clean, low-key energy and motivation -- just enough to get things done but not enough to jack me up.

It's also very effective at controlling my appetite.

Most days I have nothing but a green powder mix with water & lemon (usually around 11am) and a protein drink in milk mid afternoon. Then I eat whatever the family prepares for dinner but usually rather small portions.

I don't take Elite after dinner and thus I do still suffer from a bit of snackies around 8 or 9, but because of the way I ate earlier in the day, that hasn't derailed me.

My approach has definitely been a slow, slow process, but it's been one I've been able to enjoy without ever feeling the need to rely on iron willpower.

Right on man!!! Glad to see you're loving the Elite still!!!

Yeah, I'll do pics. You'll be disappointed in them, though, because I haven't been lifting so I have little stick arms.

Hah! No, but I'm liking my shrinking gut. When I hit 215 I'm going to see how much muscle I can gain w/o gaining weight.

Budget is tight so I put my gym membership on temporary hold. Here is my new gym:

That pyramid structure is about the height of a 2 story house. It's got metal beems and cables with rope sheaths. I spend about 20 minutes climbing up and down and all around it.

I bought those rings you see in front a couple of years ago and never used them. I do most of the rest of my workout doing various exercises with those.

3 days a week then 2 days a week, and running 2 miles on the off days.

After several weeks of, I started the running a couple weeks ago and the park gym 2 days ago. Today was my 2nd day on the pyramid.

I think I read somewhere that if you can activate adrenaline during a workout it increases the the muscle building and the fat loss. Since I'm mildly afraid of heights, the pyramid climbing does pump the adrenaline a bit.

I mostly feel like I'm playing the whole workout, even though it's exhausting. I got back over an hour ago and my arms still shake when I lift them.

I hit a low of 220 last week. Been bouncing between that and 224. That's after about 6 weeks of no workouts and not being too careful with my nighttime snacking.

I'm edging back up on the scale and I can't tell if it's due to not being as careful with my nightime snacking, or because of how long I've been away from the gym or because I just started resistance training again and muscles are retaining more fluid and glycogen. Probably a combination of all of that.

I'm REALLY enjoying working out with rings. The straps allow me to quickly and easily adjust the height, so I can do pull ups, chin ups, planks, rows, leg ups, dips, flies, triceps, and biceps -- all on the rings attached to a swing set.

I can easily adjust the amount of resistance on most exercises by changing my angle.

These workouts leave me every bit as wiped out as when I was at the gym.

This can't last -- weather will start getting nasty, but for now, I'm loving it.

I also spend 10 to 20 minutes climbing up, down, and through the ropes and bars of the 2 story pyramid. That's a nice full body, low intensity workout, too.

I've also gotten back to jogging on the off days.

Been at the jogging for about a month. The ring training for a bit over a week.

I'm pretty frustrated with my girly hands, though. I have a terribly weak grip. Always have. (That always made water skiing really hard for me. I'd constantly lose my grip when trying to get up on the skis and then once I was up, my hands would get too tired far too quickly.)

When I just hang from the rings, I can only last for about 6 seconds before the grip gives out. Of course, a weak grip makes pull ups and chin ups that much harder, too.

I'm hoping the rings workout will build up some grip strength.

I'm going to buy the Trainer version of COC Grippers, soon. But in the meantime, I'll try squeezing a couple of these a few times a day.

I did a 3 mile run/walk, yesterday.

To give an idea of how bad my endurance is:

Mile 1: 10:51
Mile 2: 12:31
Mile 3: 15:46

That last mile was probably more walk than run, but I was still pushing myself.

There was also the 1/4 mile walk to and from the park for the run.

My legs have not been threatening to pull or strain for the last several runs, so that a relief -- though I'm still not REALLY pushing the fast segments.

Today is more ring work and pyramid climbing.

Muscles are still pretty sore from Monday's ring workout.

Great work in here man, glad to see you still at it!

As far as the grip - do you do deadlifts? Deadlifts, pull ups, and the ring work you are doing will definitely build your grip. You could also get a pair of fat grips to put over the bar when you lift it.

It sounds like you are doing a lot of functional work, which will pay off I bet.

As far as the weight - I'm sure it's a little bit of everything; lack of training, lack of tuned in diet, etc. - it all contributes. It can be really hard to keep it off because it is so easy to slide just a little in a couple areas and then you're going in the wrong direction. But with practice and time, like you've been doing, the good habits help carry you more and more.

Oh, and at least you're running. I probably couldn't do that right now!

Thanks, Hit.

Yeah, the weight stayed off while I wasn't working out at all for about 2 months. Then it started creeping up. Just about 4 pounds, so far.

I was doing Deadlifts and Chin ups and Farmers Walks when I was doing the gym. Only the chin/pull ups now I'm exclusively rings.

But, I'm re-committed so, hopefully I'll get back down and then break through and reach my weight goal before winter hits.

I was reading some protein powder flavor opinions and found this, which made me laugh...

First guy: I also loved mocha but it made my piss smell like it all the time. After 11lb of it, I will pass from now on.

Second guy: It's piss, no need to smell it!

Did my 2 miles (plus .25 there and back) on Thursday. I just realized I'm slower right now than a year ago when I did the 5K. That same 5K is coming up on 10/6 and if I'm going to be this slow I may not run it.

Yesterday, I had just set up my rings to do a workout when my son called. He needed me to pick him up from school. So... no workout.

To make up for yesterday, I just did 2.5 miles walk/run (about a 15 min pace) and then did a ring workout. It was a bit embarrassing because unlike the middle of the day on weekdays, there were a few parents with their kids at the park. They got to watch me grunting and huffing and puffing as I worked the rings.

It was more challenging than I expected to do the rings after a 2.5 mile jog.

I picked up an app called Couch to 5K, which slowly gets you into shape for a 5K run. It does this through a series of walks and runs, increasing in intensity. I decided to try Week 4, Day1 since I've been doing some running for a while. I'm not quite "just off the couch". We'll see if following the app helps prep me for the race -- though the app is designed for 9 weeks and I only have 3 until the race.

I LOVE how Burn Xtreme makes me feel for an hour. Then I'm pretty miserable for the next 3 hours. (UGH!)

I get uncomfortably cold and my hands shake and I find it hard to sit at my desk and be productive.

That is the yohimbe. It can really suck if you workout like that...cold sweat type stuff.

I bought 3 or 4 bottles a few months ago based on some rave reviews but had to stop taking it because I hated how it made me feel.

But, my Lipodrene Elite, which I've loved, hasn't been giving me the same kick as it did at first (I'm near the end of my second bottle), so I was curious if maybe BX wouldn't affect me so badly now.

It does.

I took one on Saturday and it made working in the yard rather fun and easy but when the work was done, I regretted taking it.

I took one today just before my workout and it works great for the workout. I'm home before the cold sweats kick in. But, it's a terrible feeling so I don't think I'll do it very often.

If my life was such that I could take a BX, work out for an hour, come home and shower and sleep under a pile of blankets for 3 hours, BurnX would be wonderful! :)

I've been limping with my right leg today. I must have overdone it on yesterday's run (or maybe the accumulation of the last few runs). It hurts just above my Achilles heel. It's a hard area to stretch. Not sure I'll be able to run, tomorrow. And that sucks. I've been enjoying the runs (and I used to hate running). I also can't afford to take much time off if I'm going to do the 5K on Aug 6.

I did a nice Rings workout, today. The pushups and top dip hold are killer for my chest. I love it. Some jump assisted nuetral grip pull ups. Inverted rows. Lots of ROM stretches. A good day.

My favorite supplement combo right now is:

1 Libordrene Elite
1 Nootropimax
1 Nootrol

Gives a real kick in energy w/o jitters or cold sweat.
I'm able to focus on desk work for longer periods.

I've also gone back to taking a Dream N Grow before bed. It really does the job for getting me to sleep quickly and staying that way through the night.

I'm still struggling with injury prone legs, so I've been more cautious during my runs. At about the mile mark, I can feel one muscle or another in my leg starting to fatigue, which is usually a signal that it's going to "pull" if I keep going. So, I've been stopping at just a mile or so. I hate that I can't go farther because I feel that I had been building up some decent endurance. But, it's just not worth the risk of another injury.

I run M W F of one week and Tu Th the next.

On the other days, I'm at the park doing body weight exercises with my gymnastic rings. It's been doing wonders for my shoulders, chest, and abs. It's also pretty good for my triceps. The biceps aren't liking the rings much, though. It's an akward exercise and puts the wrong kind of strain on my inner elbow. Not sure how I'm going to adjust for that.

Anyway, I'm always wiped out at the end of the hour-long workout.

Only two things I don't care for are: 1) I hate having an audience while working out. The rings I set up on the swingset are just too unusual and it always draws unwanted attention -- especially from the kids who often take them over during my rest periods! 2) It's starting to get cold.

Still trying to build up to doing full pull ups

Nice to have you back!
BW exercises are great, get them to failure and you will grow.
What is the scale showing?

After doing the Ring work for a couple of weeks, I gained 5 pounds. So, I'm further away from my goal, but still feel like I'm making progress.

Your dream body avatar pic has no head -but I can sense he has an evil smirk on his face.

UGH! I just read that Hi Tech Pharm has just been banned from selling any products with DMAA.

My new favorite Supp is Lipodrene Elite which has that. This sucks!
