This is unusual but I got real pissed today.

Last minute (1 hour prior to workout) I found out none of my training partners would make it. Not happy one bit as I was supposed to suit up for squatting tonight. So I changed my plans to do my squat workout next week and Deadlift today. I was not entirely happy with this plan as I deadlifted heavy 5 days ago and I usually wait 14-21 days. But I figured since my new Okie bar was due to arrive today that would keep me motivated and lifting heavy.

Then I got tied up coaching some people about some stupid “he said, she said” crap for about 1.5 hours. So I got home at the time I normally start training, no training partner…and they didn’t make the damn delivery on my Okie dead bar!!!

Flat fuming PISSSED by this point!

I was worked up and ready to cut all my current partners from the training regimen.

The anger definetelty affected my lifts. I couldn’t focus, form sucked, couldn’t even pick between sumo or conventional on warming up and kept switching. I only got two good pulls (640 & 660) in after playing some mellow music and trying to get my head straight.

Then I put on my suit and missed every single attempt by shooting my legs to quick. I couldn’t lock it out at the top which makes not sense to me as this is not a weak point…must have been the heavy band resisted pulling on Friday. Needless to say this put me in an EVEN WORSE MOOD! I’m doing better raw than suited WTF. Maybe it was the mood not allowing me to concentrate enough and keep things dialed with suit on. Even so with where I had the bar there was no excuse.

Did I mention I was flat fuming pissed!

Warmup then
285x 12-15 sets of 3. Approx 15-20 seconds rest. Lost track of sets and rest times as we were moving to fast and trash talking.

Definitely beat after 3 weeks of doing these, a 630 bench on Monday, and close to 700 pulls last night.

Short and sweet. Got to save my energy. Tomorrow morning I wake up and along with 7 other people we are doing 150 mile relay walk/race. No sleep, lots of walking, lots of chaffing for the next 2 days. Not exactly sure how I got myself talked into this one.

Ok. We just got back. In 29hours the 8 of us walked 135 miles. Somewhere in there I got 2 hours of sleep on a wood plank floored gazebo in a park.

I was very happy with how I did. Just remember I did not train for this and have not done any cardio activity for 5 years…maybe longer, and weigh 250lbs. Due to these reasons I was given some shorter legs totaling only 14.5 miles.

However I do have quite the competitive spirit if you hadn’t noticed :) I ended up hitting and averaging the 12’s for minutes per mile. Apparently this is pretty good for someone my size in what the call the ‘Clydesdale’ category and that is for those experienced with these relay races. Actually not a bad number in any regards for these things from what I understand.

I don’t have the teams placing yet, but it looks like we did pretty good.

Unfortunately having big balls and big legs and interference fits didn’t work out to good. I kept em nice and lubed up the whole time but by my last leg my balls were on fire! Don’t think I’ll be walking much more this weekend.

thanks man...didn't know i had it in me either. i don't function well with lack of sleep(were talking anything under 8 hours normally kills me). and i was very worried about lack of cardio or walking training.

but damn....those damn balls are still keeping me from walking to much right now. got em coated in neosporin now.

cut it short as wife was yelling down the stairs I was taking to long. BSing with old training partner who came over to help out for the evening.

All in all for being in my condition the squats felt easy. I would like to take them just a bit deeper next time and really need the squat bar for heavy lifts as the bar whip was bad on the 755 and got me distracted.

the power bar (bench) and the deadlift bar came in last Friday. But the squat bar didn't ship till Friday. I should have it some time this week.

Noticed forearms knotting up on me the night before after a little demolition work on the house. Normally I would make it in to acupuncturist and get them juiced but my schedule is to tight right now. This has me worried as it took 9 months to break them up last time I let them go to far (before I started taking better care of myself). So I kept everything light tonight as well as started self administered deep tissue massage, ice compression therapy, heat, light stretching, and some electrical stimulation with the tens unit.

This was a bench off were we were competing for speed on each round, and any technique flaw caused an automatic loss that round. I was beat 7 to 5.

sorry PL terminology. Raw means with no supportive gear. as you'll see in the 690 attemps i had a squat suit on. The 660 was done with only a belt.
 
Yea, i understand all that good stuff, but i didn't read the last line of your first paragraph...i just jumped to the lifts...my bad.
 
buki just curious ho do you determine the winner in your speed bench comp.

one point for each round. fastest speed wins the round. Any default on form causes an automatic loss as well via not touch, not locking, missing groove with bar to high or low, crooked bar path etc.

makes the speed bench day a little more entertaining and really makes you not slack off on driving for speed and maintaining form.
 
I’m getting a bit worn down the last 2 weeks. It might just be mental as well with all the activity around the house remodel I’m also working on…but probably not. Going to have to start cutting stuff out over the next 3 weeks to allow myself to catch up from the fatigue accumulation and get ready for the competition.
