Kabuki's "VIDEO" Log - a little crazy fun for everyone

All I can say is you're the fvckin man. Hope all is well with you and your sisters.

That was awhile back. When I first started posting on youtube…and didn’t realize how many ignorant lazy people go around posting crap on anyone’s video’s that lifts more than them. I usually just load my video’s with the comments disabled lately.

The vids are meant for those that follow the log and not random dip****s on youtube.

BW upon waking 245.6. Started to cut back on diet this weekend as I’ve been hitting 249-250 upon waking for several days running.

Overall bench strength levels are still down but I’m not worried about that as part of it is due to doing the repitition benching and doing ART therapy.

Close Grip Bench w/145 in chains
45x6x6
190x6
290x5
360x3
430x3x3
Same weight as last week where I hit it for 5 reps but I did close grip this week.

Shirt Benching

only 60-90 seconds rest before sets 2,4,&6.

Crazy workout!

BW upon waking 247.6.
First day of starting to curtail some of my carbs and bring the little bit of weight gain I’m expieriencing in check.

155x6
225x5
315x3
405x3 belt on

835x1 knee wraps on

905x1 [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egoUEgCskpU"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/nomedia]

Had a lot more in the tank but that was the number for the evening.

Next lift was unplanned but partner was doing deadlifts and I already had squat gear on so I thought I’d try some sumo deads with gear on as I’ve never mastered it (yes I just did some deads on Friday)

Not terrible but not beautiful considering I’ve done in upper 600’s with only a belt with conventional.

KABUKI, amazing as always BUTTT....

romanian deadlifts dont touch the floor, and your supposed to bend like a normal deadlift i thought...

u were doing some weird almost SLDL

ROMANIAN DEADLIFTS

call it what you want. i'm driving hips back and bring bar straight up and down instead of out front like a SLD, and also have to bring hips back in to complete lift. I'm going to floor as i have flexibility to do so.

its what i'm doing.

EDIT: my hip motion is exactly the same. only thing i'm doing different is going all the way down. i'll try stopping short next time. Other than that performance was the same.

905....where does it all end, Kabuki. Amazing.

i've got some goals....for my squat next year....not saying what they are but you can probably guess.

BW upon waking 246.2

ART therapy today
Forearms and Anterior tricep head are doing Great!
But he is having trouble getting into the dense medial head. Right now it feels like a solid 1/3 of the muscle is bound up with adhesions.

Busy day so I ended up only getting in a sandwich some juice and some eggs so far today….made sled pulling tough…especially since its only my second week of doing it.

Sled Pulling
135lbsx14minutes
60 sec forward 30 seconds reverse

i'm going to try and get some lunch time sled dragging going on at work. see if anyone in the work world is inerested in the getting the cardio and GPP benifits in a reduced timeframe...we will see.

i built my own but this is what it looks like.

What are you using for a sled. I would love to implement this in my training

i plan on building one of these when i have time...looks like fun! watch the vid

Why am I making drastic changes to my diet just prior to a competition…besides not being sane I’m confident in what I will achieve there regardless and I’m focusing on some longer range goals which will be having me compete from a leaner standpoint.

I will have to make some adjustments however as the last two days have been hell with to drastic a change in carbs. I was feeling physically ill on my way home and was planning on not training, but a piece of fruit, some natty peanut butter, and some Alice in Chains and I changed my mind.

BW upon waking 247.2

Just a reminder I’m not doing DE bench or heavy triceps until I have some more progress on the adhesions in my triceps.

Repetition Bench
45x25
135x15
225x30x23
+3 reps over last week but first set is nowhere near where I would like it to be…I think the carb depletion played a role on that today.

Front Dumbbell Raises

Have you gotten around to trying the new R4W capsules or NOS Ether powder ?

I've just used the r4w caps once. really liked it however. finishing up a bunch of r4w powder before i jump into the bottle.

Been through one bottle of NOS Ether powder so far. My stength levels always go up when on that. Will be cycling back on it before my next meet for sure.

I've been taking NOS Ether only for pre-workout now. The phosphates give me GI distress if I take it more frequently than that per day.

I think 1 scoop of R4W 6.0 is still the best. The caps work pretty well. Not a big fan of R4W 5.0.

yes. i love the 6.0. but i don't think he is making it anymore. thinking of doing a combo of r4w caps and diesel fuel in the future either 2/2 or 2/1

never had any GI distress on the Ether. That sucks.

I think my body is adjusting to the dietary changes. Felt much better today. Also endurance and recovery is up. I’m accounting the GPP work I started 2 weeks ago and the NOS Ether I started 1 week ago.

Worked out alone tonight. Decided to try sumo deadlifts with gear on again ( I know this is the 3rd deadlift session in a week…do as I say not as I do ? ) as I think I figured out a few things. Getting on gear alone was easy with the fitment I have.

PR Deadlift in gear…only +15lb over my best raw conventional pull…but it means I’m figuring something out. Also did not have chalk or wrist wraps…grip strength is really going up with ART therapy!

took me a little bit to figure out the balance.

I'm gonna have to red light you on the 675 sumo dead, haha. Your progress is amazing. I see you totalling 2500 some time in the not so distant future.

Thanks guys. I see what you mean on the 675, on the vid it doesn't look like i've pulled my hips all the way through.

i still gotta break 2k there Alex :)

Yeah, I guess putting it all together in a meet is a bit of a different story, but 1000 doesn't seem far away in the squat, seems like you have the raw power to pull 700+ with some technique modifications, and then all you gotta do is bench 800:blink: . I guess I was getting a little carried away with 2500, but 2g's should not be a problem. My predictions for your next meet, Squat:920, Bench:600, Deadlift:680, 2200 bam!

and then all you gotta do is bench 800:blink: .

LOL.

I will see 700 next year however. As the adhesions disappear in my tricep's my lockout strength should start flying up. already seeing the results with my grip strength.

the plan is to hit 600 for 6 easy singles on Monday.:head:

Congrats on your progress. Can you really do 880pounds in squat,i didnt see that video...but if you can then you are fu..in animal.

no you don't have to wear gear. you can compete raw in any federation. many federations now have a raw division as well with its own set of records. Any meets you are looking at?

A video of the 905 squat is a few posts above and on the first post in this thread that i keep updated with my PR lifts.

That's good news, because im not planing to lift with suits or wraps(yet).

I'm new in all this so i dont know much about anything,my country doesnt have powerlifting clubs, there are few weightlifting clubs, but neighbour country have 10-20clubs,and there are competition.
There is one event in march 2008.,i will try to be there.Probably from january im starting with paralel squats and deadlift,i will not fors untill then, just want to reach level of strength i had before(squat atg 395),and prepare my back for heavy weights.I will not change stance in squat, but in bench where i was doing very narrow i already change stance to about 70-75cm.So for march i should have good form, and much heavyer lifts...

They are practically giving away all the Get Diesel products with the sales @ Nutraplanet.

i saw that. those prices are freakin INSANE! Chuck has to be giving them a discount beyond normal wholesale for them to be running a sale like that.

i just stocked up a little while ago.:frustrate

No energy to train :-( . Still cutting pretty hard but body is having no response right now, which is quite unusual for me. Quite unusual. Diet was way down last 2 days and it showed in my energy levels tonight.

I only hit it for a triple last week so that was positive.

Bench with Shirt
550x1
600x1x1x1xmiss

really struggling with slow lockout due to lack of top end work. Also had skinny guy so I had to do most of lift off and shirt was not fitted 100%. Still no excuse for just plain lack o’ strength.

as always some insane weight being moved

couple things i wanna ask or point out..

1. your close grip bench on these are my normal bench width lol.

2. does your butt come off the bench? i cant tell and was wondering today while doing inc db benching if its good or bad i always try and keep it planted

3. going to bed lol

close grip is relative. Its closer than your normal grip. For me its hands inside rings versus on outside of rings.

Butt coming off bench is bad. Admittidly mine does a little, but i am limited with foot placement being inside the rack and that plays a major role on it for me.

Do you think that your energy levels could be a result of an overtaxed CNS from the deadlifts?

Or maybe all that work on your truck, Big Dogg.;)

LOL on the truck

It definetly could be deadlifting 3 times in one week even though i only did 1 of those heavy. or that 905 squat.

good point.

also hitting two sets above my previous bes on benching with chains directly prior taxed the old triceps as well.

Have to wait and see how it all pulls together at the meet.

Nothing exciting. Body is definitely ready to back down next week. Next week I just do my opening weights and start cutting back on assistance. Might go heavy on bench but that is it.

BW upon waking 247.6. That puts me at 252 after rehydration in morning and still 10lbs overwieght. :( I wanted to be 5-6 lbs over for an easy water cut.

Squats w/Chain (200lbs in chain)
55x6x6
100x6
245x6
335x3
425x3
515x3
605x1
695x1 briefs on
785x1 suit on
875x1
965x1 wraps on
Last one wasn’t clean or hit depth so it’s a MISS.

Just didn’t have it mentally as I had a weak spotter. Wasn’t planning on pushing it hard anyway just wanted to prime CNS for handling heavier weights.

Finally put together my Glute-Ham Raise this weekend and took it downstairs. Damn I could feel on the first rep that I NEED to be doing these. Also good thing I didn’t make it 2” taller. Posted vid to critique form.

Nice workout. The GHR's looked good to me. You seem like you would be a lot of fun to work out with. Strong guy, that doesn't take himself all seriously, the effort noises you make are hilarious. I still go back to the modified on the ground GHR video for a good laugh every once in a while. It's hard to find a good workout partner/spotter. My friends act like I'm asking them to wipe my ass or something when I ask them for a spot. Never seen that type of GM, looks like it might work the upper back nicely as well as glutes/hams/lower back.

interesting indeed.. trying to figureout why the band is needed at all all it does is maybe help keep balance? but doesnt appear to add any negative or harder resistance

the band makes it hard to pull the hips forward. I'm doing a hip thrust at the same time as the GM. sqeeze the cheeks at the top.

thats a nice thing about lifting at my place...i can make any noises i want to.

Need a good partner myself. Work issues have pulled out 2 of my lifters right now, and another one is injured. I have an occasional guy that shows up on squat day so i emailed him on monday to verify he would be there for tuesday's workout. Tuesday afternoon he calls me to tell me he cant make it...I answered the phone with "You can't do this, your going to be there tonight wether you lift or not".

I may have been an ass but you've got to hold your commitments. If he had told me monday he wouldn't make i might have been able to recruit another spotter.

Same **** happened right before last meet. all of a sudden no one to make it to train.

WTF is wrong with people.

thats horrible bro, move to nyc, ill be there for u everyday !

I saw that 905 squat, respect from me bro,for going under that you need to be brave like hell.
At competition what is your record?

While i was liveing in big city there was one gym,not elite just hardcore gym,you had 2racks for squat, and more 3 pairs of stalks for squats which you could move where you want.Big 15metars long podium for deadlift,8-10 bench presses, two machines for shoulder(free weight),lot of olympic weight and bars plus all machines...there was only 3bikes and few stepers...

It was full at night, but because all train the same-for strength, you didnt have to wait, from 17:00-22:00 you didnt need to think about things like spoters, and if you ask anybody to spot,it was his obligation, you couldnt see on his face that he is scared or "why me",he didnt ask anything...yeah everyone there knew how to spot, and they all have guts...

The rest of the day(it work from10:00-22:00),there was at least 10people,and 3-5 persons who worked there.

But even it was mans gym it was all the time full with chicks, mostly atletes but also there where those who were curious to see that devil place and see how real man train.

I wish i could return there,litlle clip:

looks like some good intensity and a good place to train.

although those 2 man bench press bounces kill me.

806 is the best i've done in competition. i'm just starting to compete again. shooting for a 900+ in a few weeks at next comp.

Missed both sled pulling sessions this week. So much for my consistency.

Missed Sunday because I was putting together my GHR and organizing my gym.

Missed my sled pulling last night because I was installing a new fireplace insert to make wife happy. And she was when she came home to a beautiful warm fire that night ;)

Anyway….I was not planning on doing any pulling the week of the meet. Should I start pulling again next week then to stop pulling the week after? Any input is appreciated.

Well I was pretty much doing a BBer workout today and no training partner so I thought I would take some time and do some BBer activities such as taking pictures and measurements. Hehehe. I’ll save that till the end.

BW upon waking 245.2….down a couple lbs but I was back up to 252 by training time again. I think I’ll be fine making weight from this 247-245 morning weight. That will give me 12hrs to drop only another 3-6lbs. And hopefully be around 250-255 next day for comp.

Workout was unimpressive as strength has been plataueing this last week so hopefully timing is perfect as I start deloading over next two weeks.

First time I’ve ever taken arm measurement after doing curls or flexing. Not bad considering the very little to nil curling I do. 18 1/8” while hanging and 19 7/8” flexed. The flexed measurement was done after curling and the hanging was done before curling.

My big stomach in my squat and deadlift vids throws a lot of people off. a lot of stomach muscle combined with pushing out.

Looking good, Kabuki. You're built a lot like one my training partners for strongman.

What powerlifting association/federation are competing in? 900+ at 242 has to be a record just about anywhere. I'll be excited to see your competition numbers this time.
