Lateral Meniscus tear, Dr said it was an arthroscopic menisectomy.

He gave me cructhes and told me to ice at (I left the hospital at 4 pm) but i forgot to ice **** god damn it.

Wish me luck guys.
I've had a slew of leg problems, broke my leg when I was 4 in 3 different places and was in bed for 6 months, I have flat feet, and I've twisted both ankles. Also I think the lateral tear came from lunging or maybe squatting. However it IS a LATERAL tear so I think lunging may have done it, I had a particular time when I tried lunging with a 40lb dumbell and I pulled my knee sideways.

I've had pain for over a year due to doctor mis diagnoses and just in general not letting me get an mri.

good luck with recovery... i tore my MCL Meniscus and fractured my Tibial plateau... have a huge plate pinned to my knee. Happened a year ago and i still cant do more than light exercises.

i recommend physical therapy for diagnosis when one is experiencing pain/problems like this.. of course i am biased because im a student, but the tests performed can pretty much narrow it down to a specific cause.

MRI, however, is the MOST reliable method of diagnosis for orthopedic problems. The surgery entails trimming the torn portion off , i believe. Im glad you got it taken care of bro, and from what i understand, recovery from meniscectomy is fairly quick and successful

Good luck
