So, this is a bit different for me, as I don't normally write log's about any of my training or supplementation, but snagencyV2.0 and the FINAFLEX crew were gracious enough to send me a tub of their Muscle Fiber, so long as I promised to log it for them, and I am a man of my word. So here it goes. I would first like to thank Snags and FINAFLEX for being so generous and allowing me to try this product, as I have been wanting to test it out since they came out with it.

I guess I should share a bit of my background. I've been in multiple facets of the fitness industry for 18+ years. From personal trainer, competitor, facility manager, marketing manager, supplement shop owner, and now equipment sales for the past 5 years. I have won a few shows over the years and now have a few clients doing well in shows as well.

Over the past 17 or so years of my training, I was pretty fortunate to never have any serious illness, injuries, or health issues to hinder my training. It seems that time has caught up to me and I have had some serious health issues and injuries over the past 6 months or so. I am currently in the worst shape I have been in since I first started training. This is a main reason why I wanted to try Muscle Fiber. I've been able to overcome many of the problems I have ran into, except I am having issues with a bit of bloating and distended stomach now. I'm hoping from what I have read in a few of the other logs for MF, that this may help alleviate some of this issue.

My supplement regiment right now is very minimal, as my training intensity isn't very high right now, so I'm just taking my daily staples; a daily multi vit, my joint formula, my EFA's, and creatine pre and post workout. If I'm dragging ass, I'll take some caffeine and effies before my workout to help out a bit. I have a feeling that MF is going to be added and kept in this list of daily staples if it does what everyone has stated it's done for them.

So onto the product itself. I took my first serving this morning. I decided to take it in just straight water for the first go, to see it's true taste and mixing characteristics. I added one scoop into about 6 ounces of water. It mixed very well. No residue or grit. It did have a very mild bitter sense to it, but I get that any time I take glutamine in water, so nothing new. I'm just about to head to bed, so I'm going to throw it in my nighttime shake and see how it is, and I'll toss it in my oatmeal and protein powder tomorrow morning to get a sense of how it is in food. I doubt I'll even notice it, but I'll report back tomorrow with what I find.

I don't think I'll be updating this log on a daily basis, as this isn't a product where I'll probably notice differences from day to day. I'll try to for the first few days as it gets into my system, but after that, it'll most likely be a couple times a week just to give updates.

Thanks all for reading, and I can't wait to see what benefits MF will have for me!

Thanks man. I appreciate the compliments. Now quit making me blush! :08:

Thank you kind sir. Fitness has been in my blood since high school. I won my first show in grade 12, and since then I have never looked back. With as much as I have experienced in this industry though, I still feel like there is so much more that can be learnt and accomplished!

So I added my MF to my shake last night, and then to my oatmeal this morning. Like I expected, I couldn't even tell it was in there. It seems to be a very easy supplement to incorporate into ones daily routine. For this first week, I plan on dosing it twice a day. Once in the morning and once before bed, as that seems to be the sweet spot for this product from the other logs I've read. I'll see how that works, and then may add a third dose the following week mid day sometime to see if that makes any difference.

As far as noticeable effects after the first couple days, I did notice today that my stomach was mildly less distended. I'm hoping that I notice it disappearing more and more as days continue. I was rather surprised though that my BM cycle was changed today. Normally I'm very routine with them. Once in the morning right when I wake up, and once right after I shut the store down, right at 6. Today though, I couldn't for the life of me go this morning. It wasn't until about 1 or so this afternoon, that I was able to, and that has been it so far. I'm hoping this is just a very rare abnormal day for me. I'll keep a watch on it over the next few days and see if it levels itself out again.

Just a quick update. I woke up this morning and was still unable to have a BM. Figured I wouldn't stress about it, and just see how things play out. After all, this is a trial on this product to see how it performs, so I'll just sit back and see what happens.

I'm happy to say that my stomach has not been as bloated during the day like it was prior to using MF. Because of the bloat, I was struggling before to consume the calories I'm normally used to eating. It frustrated me to no end, as I'm OCD when it comes to my food. I was always finding I was about 1500 calories or so shy of my target calories. Today I was able to increase my calories by about 600 without feeling like my stomach was about to tear. So, that made me smile. I will try and stay here for a few days and see if I can maybe add in a few hundred more calories beginning of next week.

And come 6:00 tonight, it looked like I was back on my BM schedule. Right as soon as I shut the store down and locked the doors, I had to take my regularly schedule pit stop before I started training. Hopefully the past day and a half was just a stop interruption, and I am back to the norm.

Wow. Thanks guys for following along. I didn't really think there would be anybody who would care to read my boring babble. You're all giving me that ol' warm n fuzzy feel in'. Lol.

So it's been a couple days since I have updated. Friday was a bit disappointing for me. I was back to feeling bloated and distended again. It may have something to do with my food intake that day. I had a very late night on Thursday and was unable to cook my food for the next day, so I ended up making a couple turkey sub sandwiches to fill in the calories that I would be low on. I very rarely eat breads, so that may have been a part of the issue.

Saturday morning I woke up and my stomach seemed to have subsided some. I wanted to test MF today on what would happen with cheat meals. I supply all of the provincial body building shows around here with their pump up room equipment and my good friend was putting his on yesterday up in Edmonton(about an hour and a half north from me). So I decided to take one of my clients, who I am training for a figure show next year, up to watch what she is going to be getting into. I figured this was as good of day as any to have a cheat meal or two. I never eat out or eat pre-prepared or processed foods, but i figured since I would be out of town, I could justify it. Lol. Had my normal breakfast. Oatmeal with protein powder(with my MF), and egg whites. For lunch, I didn't go too crazy. Had some sushi, which was a nice treat, and then a late "dinner" after the show was some IHOP. Munched on some protein bars and protein shakes in between meals while watch the contest. I didn't want to get the bloated sensation again, so I tried to keep my cheat dinner to a minimal with the bread starches. I did have one waffle, some eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns and an orange juice. Don't know why, but I've always loved breakfast foods as my cheats. Everything seemed fine. No bloat this time and this morning, things moved through nicely. So, all and all, I'm happy.

Tomorrow I'm going to start dosing 3x a day and see how that goes and if it changes results.

On a side note, one of the big highlights on Saturday, was getting to meet the big bad Wolf.

Absolutely great guy. Very friendly and personable. Since the Olympia he has won The Arnold Classic Europe, the Prague Pro, and came in 2nd at the San Marino Pro last weekend, so he was in great shape for this quest posing.

Somehow I missed this... Late as usual but in!

I'm not a big bread eater either. Sounds like your diet is similar to mine. My bm's have reduced to 2 times a day from several small ones while on Muscle Fiber. It took a few weeks for them to get timed when I "wanted" them(both in the am). Hopefully it does the same for you.
Looks like it was a great show!

So I've been taking 3 servings a day this past week and I think it's my sweet spot for MF. My digestive schedule has regulated itself again. I'm back to once in the morning, and once after work. I might try 4 servings a day just to finish out this trial and see if it makes and kind of noticeable difference, but I'm quite happy at 3 a day.

In regards to recovery time, it's been a long time since I was on a regular scheduling of glutamine. I got the odd dose here or there if one of my proteins or meal replacements had it sprinkled in there, but that was about it. I have noticed, mainly on my leg training, that my recovery has improved some. The onset soreness is far less than what it was before starting MF. I can now actually sit down normally on the toilet and get back up, rather than needing a crane to get me on and off again. That must be why you guys added the glutamine to it, huh? ;)

I was sporadic with it over the weekend and noticed that I gradually went from two back to my struggling 1 (BM). I upped mine to three yesterday, and i can tell today that things re "smoothing" back out again...

Yeah, I find the more consistent I am with dosing and timing the more regulated I stay.

So, I started taking MF 4 times a day on workout days(1 morning, 1 pre workout, 1 post workout, 1 bedtime), and 3 times on non workout days(1 morning, 1 around 5pm, and 1 at bedtime). Haven't noticed any improvement nor negative effects from doing so. I will stay with this until the tub runs out, then most likely stay at 3 servings a day from here on out. This will definitely be a staple in my supplement regiment. It's gotta be now, I just ordered 5 of the bundle deals from NP. :D

I'm kind of feeling like an idiot right now though. I normally research any product I take 110% before starting. I guess I got too caught up on the reviews of the decreased bloat, that I jumped the gun and just wanted to get on board to see if it would help my distended stomach. Over the past couple weeks, I've been just chasing the powder with water or just throwing it in water and slamming it. I kept noticing what I wanted to say was a bit of a bitterness or mild sweet taste to it. It is kind of tough to describe, but is there. Nothing horrendous by any means, but I can notice it. I finally looked at the supplement facts on the back again, and completely missed that it uses fructooligosaccharide as the prebiotic fiber. This makes complete sense now, since fructooligosaccharides are actually non-digestable fructose molecules which are also commonly used as a natural artificial sweetener. Being a diabetic, I always monitor my blood sugars any time I start a new supplement to see if it will effect them, and my sugars have been absolutely rock solid while using MF, so that's definitely a plus. I just can't believe that I missed the fact that MF was using FOS for fiber. I'm kind of embarrassed.

Juniorab, My business partner is Very Diabetic, he does not lift or exercise, he eats very well but still has trouble with high blood sugar. Do you think the FinaFlex Muscle Fiber would benefit him ??? Thank you!

hmm surprising to me as well, tbh..
no worries tho, happens to the best of us - and of course this type of oversight is more common among canadians, so you got that going for you in your defense...

As far as Muscle Fiber being beneficial in regards to a diabetic's blood sugars, no, it won't help control blood sugars any, as it doesn't effect insulin or sugars. Most likely he doesn't have the right math formula for insulin dosage to carb intake. Is he insulin dependant or no?

Lol. I think it is more reflective of me being so upset with where my physique was at, that I fell into that hole of looking for a quick fix. Was pretty distraught with here I was. Something I'm just not used to. Kinda hit me hard. Lol. Oh well. Up and up we go.

Yes he is insulin dependent, 5 injections a day. He is 40 years old discovered diabetic when 12. He eats better than any other diabetic I know and has a heck of a time keeping his sugar stable, has the Doctors stumped ?..

Does he know how to adjust his insulin to carb ratio?

He has an app for that
Hmm. Never seen an app for it. The insulin sensitivity ratio can change from person to person, so it's not really a universal formula. Myself, depending on my training and diet regiment, I can fluctuate anywhere from 4:1 to a 9:1 ratio. So when I'm at a 9:1 ratio, for every 9 grams of carbs I eat, I take 1 unit of insulin. The last time I dieted down, my metabolism and insulin sensitivity was so high, that I was only taking 1-2 units of insulin with every meal. He may just not have the proper ratio figured out for himself.

So it's been a couple weeks since I had my last serving of MF. I wanted to wait until my recent package came in to give everyone a true idea of what I thought about MF:

So, since I took my last serving, I have noticed my stomach has been slightly more bloated again. My BM schedule went off track again as well. Hopefully now that I have a decent supply, I will be able to get back on track again.

This is definitely something that will be staying as a staple of my daily essential supplements. It mixes very easily in almost anything, from water, to shakes, to food. As I stated earlier, I did notice when taking it in just water, it does have a very slight sweetness(almost a bitterness) taste to it due to the FOS. Nothing horrible, by any means, but it is there. Once my body got regulated to it, it did keep me regular on a consistent schedule. Since I haven't been on a regular supply of glutamine in years, I did notice the benefits on my recovery. The one "negative" I guess that I found(and from others logs too), is that the scoop that comes with it is a bit small for the contains. Not a big deal, but thought I would mention it.

This is not a product that will make you go "OMG! This is the most amazing product on the planet!!!", but I'm pretty sure that wasn't FINAFLEX's goal. I think they wanted this to be a solid daily supplement to keep the body running healthy, and I think they nailed exactly what they were going for.

All in all, I'm very happy that Snags and FINAFLEX gave me a chance to try this out. As shown in the pic, I definitely don't have any issues with spending the cash on MF to keep it in my supplement lineup.

Thanks Turff. I guess you could call it my "personal" gym. It's a store that I own. I sell fitness equipment for a living. I just have it set up to use as my gym. Lol. I train my clients and myself in my stores after hours.

Thanks Rocket. Yeah, at that price, it's stupid not to load up. TBH, I'm thinking I should order another 4-6 bundles, just cause.

That's why I called it personal and not home. I knew you trained people but didn't know you sold equipment too. That's awesome!!
Yeah, I've been selling equipment for the past 5 years. Sell to anyone from the stay at home mom looking for a simple set of dumbbells and a spin bike all the way to $500,000 gym's. I do a tonne of business with the oilfield companies up in a town called Fort McMurray. It's basically the Texas of the prairies. Major oil money. Each camp up there usually puts a $200,000-$250,000 gym in their camps for their employees since the camps are way out in the boonies. And there are hundreds of camps up there. I'll take that money any day.
