I have a pack of red kratom, (I’ll post a pic later) 5 capsules 12 servings.

It’s supposed to be relaxing...

How many caps should I start with and if anyone has any experience with “red” lemme know.

Thanks

Though I don’t have any experience with reds specifically - a 2-3 gram dose would likely be a good starting point. If that works (should)....no need to go higher. Use the lowest effective dose and only use it when needed. It’s rather easy to make it a daily habit that becomes difficult to break.

How often do you think is reasonable to get benefits and minimize addiction risk? Once a week? Or is it more of a "use only out of desperation, once or twice in your life." kind of thing?

I’ve heard it can become very addicting. I bought a sample pack and used all 4 strains in 1 week to see what I liked. Then I used it once the week after. Then nothing for almost 2 weeks. It all depends on you I guess. Do you have an addictive personality? Have you dabbled with any drugs in the past? I personally think once or twice a week is fine if you feel you won’t become addicted.

I was reading in another forum where several guys take one small dose of kratom every day and have yet to experience any sides and many of them get the best bloods of their life back after years. The only repeat flag seems to be *-slightly-* higher bp. Even then, its not a fitness forum so theres no tracking their diets.

Keep the dose as low as you can, take it whenever you need it, and not much more. Of course it can be habit forming, so dont make it a habit. I use it because before kratom, my choices were:

A. Be in terrible pain
B. Be addicted to OxyContin until I die

After trying and EVENTUALLY kicking option B, I did option A for a long time, but the physical pain came with its own set of hidden taxes.

Kratom gave me a more neutral option where I can pick my doses and not pay into Big Pharma's pot.

So reds are more sedating and pain relievers. I guess it can be addictive, but it is the only thing that helped me with my problems when doctors couldnt. My gf takes it couple times a week to help her sleep and she hasnt noticed any ill effects on the days she doesnt take it. Everyone is different though and if you are just taking it to take it, i would skip it.

Thanks gang...

I tried 3 caps last night, didn’t really feel anything noteworthy.

Might try the full suggested 5 caps tonight.

I guess it just looks like a lot of powder, that makes me hesitant...

If you have a scale, weigh the powder of a cap on the scale. You are going to need 3g red bali to begin to feel relaxation and pain relief. Take curcumin and/or agmatine about 30min before and will enhance the effects of kratom. Straight up Kratom Bali is good before bed, but their super red Borneo is great for pain.

I’ve been using Straight UP for about 6 weeks now, I typically dose PWO around 5pm. So basically at the most I use Kraton 1 time a day, about 5 days a week and I’ve never noticed the need for it on a off day or at some sporadic time during the day. As of now I’m fine and haven’t noticed any sides with it.

When I first started using Kratom, I could take it or leave it no problem. I had a few sponsored logs here on AM, and that’s how I started. The first one is gone now due to that company no longer being an AM sponsor- or for whatever reason. Anyway, after my first supply was gone, I didn’t even buy more again. Then another log opportunity came up a year or so later. I didn’t use it everyday during that run, and I didn’t buy a bag when that supply was gone either. No problems noted upon stopping either time because I wasn’t consistently dosing it..

Given my ease of using Kratom sporadically in the past, I probably didn’t give it enough respect when I started taking it multiple times daily starting the first week of July this summer. Now I find myself having a very difficult time stopping the habit as I develop increased anxiety, depression, insomnia, apathy, hot flashes etc. Meanwhile, the effects of Kratom are greatly diminished and just keep me at somewhat of a baseline...which really isn’t that great. I have been weaning for approximately a month and have made some progress overall, but I’m not out of the woods yet.

While there are certainly worse things to withdraw from, Kratom should be treated with some respect and I definitely learned that daily dosing for weeks/months was not in my best interest. It’s not like I decided to do it either, I just woke up one day and realized how I had become dependent on it.

Ultimately, I think the best advice is that if you don’t “need” it, don’t open yourself up to the possibility of it becoming a problem that sneaks up on you. While it’s definitely possible to use it sparingly and “as needed,” it’s also very possible for things to go the other way.

Great message big Rick! @Ricky10

...Yeah, I could see myself getting hooked, if it actually works for me. ...It ain’t a cheap habit either! (Guy I bought it from says its no more addictive than coffee,..which I’m already into, big time)

Can one overdose on this shitt ?

Haha....big Rick :ROFLMAO:

No more addictive than coffee isn’t really saying much when you think about it. Plenty of people are coffee addicts!! This is obviously different though...

Yeah, it’s fun at the start...but it’s not fun for me anymore. Many people can use it with restraint and more responsibly than I have in recent months. However, there is also a huge percentage of Kratom users that fall into my situation and much worse.

It’s not really known to be a high risk OD substance, and it doesn’t cause respiratory depression. You’d probably just puke or fall asleep- hopefully not at the same time

Pre... I’ve tried green, white and yellow. Yellow seems to be the best combo of stimulation and motivation. Yellow also seems to put me in a better mood than the other two.

Yeah man, you have to treat ALL drugs (spade is a spade) with respect. Some of us are better off avoiding it completely. Its far from a one-size-fits-all!

Preworkout dosing is definitely very popular and has been one of my favorite times. Nowadays, it’s not so much for the mood lift, it just motivates me enough to go to the gym period. Sucks!

I agree. I only take Kraton like it’s part of my workout supplements. Don’t take it with me to work or on a lazy Sunday afternoon just to be taking in. I stick with low dosages so I don’t build up a tolerance. I don’t worry about getting addicted if I stick with my plan.

From what I have read kratom has alkoloids that make you feel good or relieve pain etc, but it also has alkoloids that cancel those out. Therefore you cant really overdose because if you take too much it literally cancels itself out. It can give you wobbles or make you feel nauseous ut that kinda the worst of it as far as od is concerned. Thats why youll hear alot of ppl say "less is more" because you have a balance of the alkoloids instead of too much of all.

First time I started out at 3g and I was nauseous. Next dosage was at 1g and the effects were the same except I wasn’t nauseous. Completely agree that less is more on this stuff.

Red is my favorite pre workout. Take 1 hour before gym and a nice dose of caffeine and your an animal in the gym. I take 6 caps.

I have trouble sleeping on Kratom. I never get in to a deep sleep. I have to take it no later than 5pm

4 caps last night, maybe a little queasy...no relaxation etc. Will hold off on Kratom for now,....

Appreciate the feedback from all.

Have an upcoming 2nd cycle to contemplate and if I were to like Kratom, it ain’t really in the budget anyway.
