Jim: Performance is King Log.

Damn, dude. That's fiercely heavy. Keep pluggin!

Fingals fingers: 2 in 21 sec for 4th place.

Sitting in 4th place currently (I think)

300, 325 # for the fingers, hand slipped on the 350 and I just couldn't get it when I tried again.

2nd in keg toss. 2 in 11 seconds

2nd in wheelbarrow load and carry at 45sec.

Sitting in 3rd place heading into the stones.

Nice job buddy

Congrats, Jim! We better see trophy pics and event vids!

If you saw how he struggled w the 225 lb stone in training, it makes him spanking the 225 stone today all that more awesome...

The guy I shared third with weighed ~245 but they let him compete lightweight because there was no novice class (was his 1st meet as well)

And yes, they did give the top 3 in each weight class swords.

So, for the world's manliest day, strongman competition, swords, and steak.

Me and Travis Ortmayer (dudes a freak of nature) real cool guy.

Got his phone number so I can go train with him and learn stuff.

Just watched. Awesome work man. Looked like a lot of fun too. Congrats!

Yeah, it was a great time (in hindsight).

Those farmers are the bane of my existence. The handles were real thick, and my left hand just couldn't hold it. After it gave the first-time it would slip right out every time I tried to pick it up again.

Yea, no way to hook grip your way out of that. Thats a lot of weight. I'd expect you never need to take more than one trip from the car on grocery day now :D

And gotta say, like napalm eluded to, strong determination on that stone.

I thought about it afterwards, and was like "damn, I shoulda hooked gripped it". The other competitors said I should gorilla grip it (hand turned up with the handle resting on my palm).

The 250 was sooooo close to my lap, and I woulda got it had I lapped it. I tried 3 times and got it to my knees each time but just not quite enough.

That 3rd finger pissed me off too.

I was so close, and my right hand just slipped right off it.

By then, the shoulders and tris were just too gassed to hold it.

Watched the video finally. Fu(king AWESOME. Your effort was balls out from open to close of each event and the comp as a whole. You looked SO close on so many things. You could have had 4 kegs if the trajectory were on point for those first two 30lb tosses. That third finger was so close, too! You almost had it. So proud of you for nailing down that 225. Great ****ing day, man. Great. That looked like a ton of fun, too. I'm jelly.

Thanks man. If there's one thing I'm good at its trying hard.

I might woulda been better off throwing them sideways like I did Saturday. Hindsight and whatnot.

Next up: 250.

Tried to upload the 250 attempt but the file was corrupted or some ****.

And..... Dessert:

Jim, that's ****ing impressive dude. You should definetly be proud. Agreed with Herder, looks like a helluva fun time

It's not a 600# squat, but it's definitely some hard ****.

It was fun. (again, in hindsight)

My wife stopped the video before my manly victory yell once I finished the wheelbarrow and set the fastest time. (until the guy that won went and smoked me with a 34 second time).

She also missed the loud **** I screamed after missing the 250 stone.

Pretty sure I'm heading to Lowe's this week to make some Atlas Stones.

Probably a 240 for me and some 70-120 for the wife.

We shall see.

Also, hips are tight. Upper back is sore, obliques and serratus are sore, forearms are sore, and the hands are sore.

Traps are bruised and cut, forearms are as well.

But outside of that I feel great, all signs of a successful day.

But ego shouldn't be bruised. All is well.

Sounds like Strongman training to me!

That stone lift definitely helped aassure that.

Boom.

Changing gyms next week. I'm signed up for another 3 month's with the one I'm at now, but met a guy at the competition who runs a warehouse facility. Went down and talked to him today and he said $25 a month to workout there (I had talked to him about it at the comp, he generally just had classes and no membership but I talked him into it). No AC or BS machines, just racks plates, DBs, GHR, Strongman Equipment, and a Reverse Hyper.

Time to get serious.
