Jim: Performance is King Log.

As far as certs go, look at ASCM and NSCA. Those, IMO, carry the most weight and actually TEACH you some things rather than just being a piece of paper.

I have the NSCA-CPT, the test was kind of a bitch. I'm scared of the CSCS test.

When you doin cscs?

I don't know, I've just been "looking into it" since about January. There's one here in Denver on 8/3, so maybe I'll be ready by then.

That would be a hell of a lot of fun. I'd love to, but there are so many great gyms here I'd never even get in the game.

If you follow my log at all, you'll see I do a lot of **** (hire coaches, get certs, buy books) "just because". I really don't have a NEED for a CSCS, but why not? I'm a voracious consumer of knowledge, mostly shyt I might never use. ;)

That's my philosophy. Always learning. It means a lot to me because I actually have a passion for this stuff and can see working in the industry till I'm old n gray. Do what you love and get paid for it

I looked at the CSCS and it just doesn't come local (from what I saw) and the closest location is Dallas (which is not close at all).

So I was looking at that one that I posted.

You can take it online at a proctor location as well.

Unrelated note: ridiculous toothache the past couple of days. It feels like it's the one I got the root canal on, had the crown done a month or two back. Its been killing me the past few days.

I have one wisdom tooth coming in and last week it was rubbing my inner mouth but quit thank the Lord.

I made an appointment with the clinic that did the crown. They wanted me to go tomorrow morning (and I want to go tomorrow morning), but I have the ACAP workshop going on this week and if I miss an hour I have to retake the whole week long course, which I don't want to do. Gonna have to talk to the SFC in charge tomorrow and see if I can get out and go Friday. If not, Monday morning :yikes:

It's pretty bad, I've taken a lot of painkillers today and they are barely taking the edge off of it.

Today was RE Lower. Wasn't able to take a pre workout because I didn't know how it would react to the painkillers I was taking (ibuprofen and ultram) so I just opted to not risk it.

RE Lower 11JUN13

Pre: Hard d*** and bubblegum.
Intra: Gator + MBCAA

Warmup: Foam Roll Hammies/ITB/Vastus Medialis, Shoulder Mobility with Band. HBOS: 45x10, 95x10, 135x10

High Bar Oly Squat: 185x15, 225x10, 225x12 Note: Lower back was TIGHT after these, my hip flexors weren't quite loose enough (because of the shortened warmup) and they spinal erectors had to FIGHT to keep me upright.

Walking Lunges: BWx8, BWx12, BWx15 per leg

Lying Leg Curl (opted for this instead of GM because of the lower back): 60x5, 90x5, 100x5, 110x5, 120x5 (30 sec rest between sets)

Standing Cable Crunch: 120x8, 140x8, 150x8

Notes: Dead. Covered in sweat and just plain exhausted. Got home and drank my Oxy Elite Protein shake, and now my tooth is killing me again.

God, I hate everything related to dentistry. That friggin tooth doesn't even have any nerves left in it, so how the hell did it even find a way to start hurting in the first place!

Same **** happened to my mom recently with the tooth. She ended up having to get it pulled. Pretty jerked off stuff.

Still have to look that up PF, hopefully I remember today.

Yesterday, I went out to the field around 5 and did some agility stuff. It was nice and hot outside, worked up a good sweat, worked on my tan, and got faster (hopefully). Anyways, this is what I done did.

13JUN13 Agility

Pre: Not ****
Intra: Gatorade + MBCAA

Dynamic Track Warm-up

Ladder Drill
2 x Both Feet per Rung
2 x 1 Foot per Rung
4 x Side-in-out
4 x lateral

Cone Drills
4 x Pro Agility (I really need to work on my change of direction)
2 x T-Drill (Gotta break down and turn around, slipped a couple of times)
2 x Nebraska Drill (Did much better at these lol)

Had planned to do some sprints afterwards (because it looked easier on paper than it turned out to be), but I was decently winded afterwards. Legs were pretty gassed, and it wasn't really relevant to the training goal for this session. Kinda went on a whim, when I initially got home I didn't plan to go but I started to feel like a bum and decided I wanted to do some work at the field after all. It was HOT, and I really worked up a sweat, felt good. And it really showed me how much I need to work on my acceleration, and footwork. Need to be able to change direction better, and just be quicker out of every movement.

Always something to work on .

^^hilarious.

Having some major tooth issues today, changed my appointment for tomorrow morning. Got off work and ended up falling asleep on my couch an hour or so later, tooth was killing so I took another 400mg Ibuprofen and headed to the gym about 30 minutes later.

RE Upper 13Jun13

Pre: 1.5 Scoop Enhanced
Intra: Gatorade + MBCAA

Warm-Up: 'Y' Pull Aparts, Pullaparts, Shoulder Dislocates/Over and Backs, Lacrosse Ball Pec Minor/Trap/Mid Back, DB Bench 20x15, 35x15

DB Bench: 45x12, 60x12, 70x12, 80x8

a1. Cat Back Lat Pulldown: AVGx10x3
a2. Band Pull Apart: MMx10x3

Set #2: Invalid Link Removed

1 Arm Band Pushdown: MMx5x4

Behind Neck OHP: 95x8, 115x6, 115x7

BB Curl: BBx20 (holy pump)

Notes: Great workout today, accidentally hit my sore tooth with another tooth during a set, it was awful. Pissing me off. A lot of focus and energy, pump was decent. Nothing incredible but noticeable.

I saw it in Breezy's log a long while back. You could ask him.

Standing with your feet on a mini band. Space your feet and/or choke down the grip for desired tension. Do a front raise holding a section of the band in each hand...and then pull apart.

Here's an example.

I can't find video or description on Y pull aparts...Lil help?

Those are 3D Pullaparts. What I'm doing is different.

I'm holding the band overhead and my body looks like a 'Y' and then I retract my scapula and pull the band apart to make a 'T' shape, I normally don't pull it all the way to a 'T' but that's how I do them.

I've never tried those. I'll give it a shot this week.

Ohhhh, ok I do these bad boys.

The 3Ds are awesome

You should try band stretches during chest work. Good for flexibility, pump, and joint mobility work. Took em from Meadows

I stitched my own leg up one time, no anesthetic.

<----doesn't sew very well...

I tried to pull a broken/abscessed tooth with vice grips. Broke it off at the gum line, passed out briefly.

Not a strong dentist.

Lol I've been considering doing it myself all week. Ended up getting yanked out, turns out both of the roots were abscessed/infected. Doesn't hurt anymore, but if it does I have percocets now.

That's the ONE good thing about going to the dentist; the relief most times is IMMEDIATE. It's like someone releases the vise your head has been clamped in.

F.ck...I MEAN F.CK MOUTH PAIN. The worst.

Yeah, the dentist that did the crown was convinced that I was mistaken and that it had to be another tooth. He started pressing on the teeth around it and I had no pain, eventually he pressed on the crowned tooth and my leg kicked about 2 feet into the air. He wasn't playing around either, that mofo applied some PRESSURE.

Referred me back to the on post clinic where they yanked that bitch out.

Haha crowns are Fukin expensive too! You should have made them compensate you lol

My mouth looks wrong without that molar back there on the right side....

Weight a few days ago was 175.0 upon rising. Mostly just adding that in there to see if I lose any weight this weekend with the whole tooth thing going on.

200# here I come!

If you want 200 pounds you can have it, I would rather stay light and strong but I just keep growing.. you think it's all fun and games til you can't stop gaining.
