I took 3/4 scoop at ~1200 to go to sleep (had to be up at 630 this morning), and laid there in bed, wide awake for 3 hours. Finally passed out at around 3 and woke up at 630. Not feeling too awfully tired (surprisingly) but I can definitely tell that I didn't sleep much.

Had a good time while I was up there, I hadn't seen him since before I shipped off to BCT, so it was nice to see him again. Planning to go up there later this year and hopefully stay a little longer.

Notes: Wow, those curls were PAINFUL. Got video of everything but the superset today, really liked the Z press and SG HP that I did today. I'll be using those pretty frequently from this point forward. Pouring sweat today, my work capacity didn't seem to take much of a hit with the 2 weeks off. Won't find out til Monday about the strength, but overall I'm feeling good. I expect to be relatively sore tomorrow (especially in the Upper Back) but don't expect that to last long as I start putting down the BCAA/SAA again. Didn't take G8 last night, and won't tonight, because my schedule calls for Fri/Sat off of it. Overall it was a good session.

Pump was STUPID.
 
Awesome session. Those average bands look rough to bench against. I agree on the Z-Press. Definetly a good change up
 
I have to admit.....i was waiting for that plate to smack you in the shins during those dips lol.

And a late night workout update!


Went to the gym at around 5 today, didn't leave until like 1030 lol.


Did my usual 1 hour warmup/prehab work, started squatting. When I finished squatting and moved on to the first assistance lift one of the PL guys came over there and helped me out with some questions I had asked him earlier. He has a PhD in Physical Therapy and I had asked him if he had anything my wife could do for her hip (which I think is impinged) so he came by and talked to us for about an hour and gave us a list of exercises and showed us how to do them so that we could work that out. Then went back to the workout and finished up around 8 - 830 ish. Started talking to a guy that was out of the Navy and does X-fit competitively, he's trying to get stronger to make his WODs easier and we talked for an hour or so. I helped some of the guys he was training with with their Oly form, and then ran into an old football buddy from HS and we talked a little bit about PLing and competing and whatnot. He might start training with me, but we'll see about that.


Anyway.....


ME Lower (and my strength definitely took a hit lol)

Didn't watch the first video before going to the second, saw the soft lockouts in the second so I fixed it in the third.

Might just be from not sumo DLing often.

Ended up filling my shaker with BCAA/SAA like 3 times during this bear of a workout. The first two tasted good, the last ended up being just water lol.

I expect to be VERY sore tomorrow, but hopefully not.


Also, introduced G8 again last night and slept like a BOSS. Super deep and restful sleep, suffice to say I am very pleased with this product so far.


I'm still a little on the fence about SAAs but I cannot deny the fact that my recovery (intra set and daily) is much better with it than it was before using it.

Warmup: Simple 6, EFS pullapart Series x 1, Bench Press: work to 185 x 3

2 Board Press: 205 x 3, 225 x 3, 245 x 2 (shoulder gave out, no pain. just....weird), 245 x 3 (PR), 255 x 3 (PR)

And then I shut it down, probably coulda went to 265 but there will be time for that later down the road.


DB Bench: 75 x 8, 85 x 8 (PR), 90 x 6 (PR)

a1. Pendlay Row: 185 x 8 x 4
a2. SG High Pull: 135 x 6, 155 x 6, 135 x 6

The 155's were the ugliest things that ever happened so I dropped it back down.

b1. Swiss Bar French Press: 55 x 10 x 2
b2. Swiss Bar OHP: 125 x 3, 115 x 5

First time using the Swiss Bar, it was definitely weird. I liked it though, the first set of OHP were sketchy, so I dropped the weight. The French Presses were hard to get a hang of, not sure how I feel about them but they did take a lot of stress off the elbows.

Hammer Curl: 35 x 10, 30 x 10

Deadlifts on today's rotation, and it is REALLY hard to get motivated for sets of 12 on deadlift.

Only got the first on video. The second was even worse, almost quit at 11 but got back down and pulled the last rep. That there transcendent rep.

Cambered Bar Good Morning: 185 x 6, 205 x 6 x 2

Assuming a 45# bar, it may have been 55#. :dunno:

Cambered bar Squats: 225 x 10 x 2

Hard.


Super sore today still. Didn't feel that sore until I got to the bottom of the squats, had some major butt winking going on. This isn't normally an issue, so I'm not sure if it's just a little tightness today that didn't get worked out or if it's a technical thing with the cambered bar.

Had some core stuff planned but today's entire workout was a mental battle and we were BEAT down. Plan to hit it tomorrow with the Strongman stuff we'll be doing for conditioning.

Notes: Real sore right now. Tri's are pretty sore, lower body is still pretty sore from Monday. Went up to a whole scoop last night, slept a lot better than the 3/4 scoop I had been using, or more accurately fell asleep better.

I notice some loggers notice that it puts them out, but I can't say I've had that happen. It doesn't put me out, but it does improve my sleep quality.

Technique needs work on these too.

MB throw ---> Sprint: 10# x 20yds x 4
LAX Ball Snatch : 20yds x 3 (2 caught, 1 missed)

Drop the LAX ball initiates the sprint, catch it before the second bounce.

Keg Style Tire Throw: Tire x 6 x 2

Oh yeah, this happened.

Farmer's carry w/o clamp: 105 x 50 yds

Lost the weight twice, clamps next time.

Had some cramping with the rollouts today, which always happens when I do them. Not as bad as it has been before, but still. Feeling good today, not even as sore as I expected to be. A little soreness in the hammies today, but nothing major. :thumbsup:
 
Nice session. I read somewhere that Deion Sanders used to do the ball snatches with a tennis ball from 15 yards. I tried it and made it like 6 or 7.

Pumped up today. The bench presses were good today, heavy but that's to be expected with the increased ROM. No soreness today, not too tight either. Swiss bar definitely made the Z Press a little harder today.
 
Did Z Pressing the Swiss bar make you feel like you were going to fall on your face?
 
No, although I almost went back on one of the reps.

The Swiss bar adds a little more stability to it because of the way it likes to turn.

By stability I meant stability required to execute the lift (just read what I wrote and it didn't make sense.)

I figured you meant you needed more stability. Wrist and shoulder stability is pretty good, though. I've yet to see someone with an impressive bench that didn't have impressive forearms and delts.

Feeling good lately, very little DOMS if any at all for most of the latter half of the week. Sleep has been good, I've used just under 1 scoop the last couple times I've used it. It hits a lot harder with 1 scoop than 1/2. Still tastes awful, but it's easier to put down after using it for a little while. Figure I have a couple days worth of product left, maybe a little more. So I will most likely have the final reviews up by the end of the week.

The Freaks are currently working on changing up the flavoring system with G8.
Phenibut is soooooo hard to mask hence the reasoning behind most sleep aids being in capsule form. We're gonna nail it though.

yeah when I was talking with the owners and told them I mix a scoop of apple-fusion BCAA+SAA with my G8, they were like :doh:
got them to thinking and wondering why they hadn't thought of it before, is an easy fix and low-cost move to make....so, I believe we will see this apple-fusion flav G8 coming, is my guess..
we are also going to be packaging with 40 servings per container now, instead of 20 -- at no addtl cost increase!

having principles is not always so easy, lol.....i have been avoiding finaflex for this reason-even though i have seen some seriously interesting stuff coming from you guys!!!

Notes: Feeling pretty good today, a little soreness in the glutes from yesterday but barely noticeable. Didn't take much to get warm today so we didn't waste any time before getting started. Everything was pretty good, reaction time could have been better, probably woulda caught more of them if it was.

yeah I been lobbying for this since I got this position, but for a minute the owners were just adamant that this is how it was gonna be done, and were really amazed and boggled when I told them no other company was requiring such maneuvers
while I understand the premise, and it's really not too big a deal in the overall scheme of things -- when you're me or one of our reps, and you're doing as many promos as we do, it gets tedious as hell to keep track of these things..was driving me nuts! :p

anyway, glad you aer happy camper - I expect to see you in our next promo thread now :cool2:
