During my squat sesh, tonight, I was unknowingly observed by a pro powerlifter. After my fourth set, he walked over to me, and told me that my form could be better. Apparently, I have been squatting with somewhat bad form for the past 3-4 years - Fortunately, he brought this to my attention, before I injured myself. So, I listened to good advice, took heed, and ended my last set with 455x3 (half reps). He said that my form is not far off from being great, but that I am putting too much stress into my knees as they stick out further than my toes do. I will be squatting with him next week and he will teach me a more proper form. He told me that I had much more potential, and once I incorporate more hams into my lifts, I will be able to squat even more. :biggthumpup:
However, I am in a predicament. I enjoy lifting for both size and strength, but more so strength. I would love to squat bigger numbers, but I don't want my legs getting any bigger; I would actually like my legs to be a bit smaller. It is strange, whenever my legs get big, so does my waist. My abs are very toned, but my waist is much bigger than it should be. I don't like having to wear a size 34-36 in jeans when i wear 30-32. I have always had awesome genetics in my legs. I could lift my legs/calves every month and still net good results.
Q: Please, exclude my ignorance if this is a given, but is it possible/logical for me to lift more weight than a person who is as big as/bigger than me, more lean, and weighs the same?
*I believe the only possibility of gaining more strength but losing/keeping the same leg size is by leaning out, correct? Are there any other options?
Tonights workout turned out nice. Again, I decided to take it easy on my quads. It seems as though my strength has come to a halt; as if the Tren is slowly diminishing. Knowing this now, I am glad that I will be ending this cycle this week. My body is telling me that I have had enough. My body felt fine tonight. I had minor pains in my knees and ankles, but nothing serious.
