Everything was good aside from upright rows
Shoulder makes an audible pop 1st rep 1st set went w a narrower grip to mitigate but didn’t feel much medial delt activation. Mostly trap.
So w what I can hit w out pain is front delts. And I’m already “front heavy”. I should just become a cyclist

Are you saying you can’t do any kind of lower rowing or shrugging? Because I have done about 50 reps of upright rows in my life. They’re a totally useless movement to me that just destroys my shoulders. This was before my elbow made them totally impossible even.

Maybe you should consider more isometric carrying work if you want a bigger back/yoke. Strongmen do not typically do upper back exercises, because much energy is spent weekly on front carries and loading. And your upper back gets big as hell doing that. Just pick up a sandbag or keg and walk with it or do some triple extensions!

I second this. Terrible on my elbows. 0/10

18 minute mark is one I’ve been using, has taken me a little bit to get the feel for it. But his whole video is really good.

Db lateral raises hurt. Trying to work something in for side delts.

Yeah Big Mike knows how to get the muscles firing. I use a lot of his techniques to get more out of less.

I was doing the standing ones VanWyck style. I know they didn’t cause the shoulder pain but that’s one of the movements that triggers the pain.
Half the battle is understanding the movements and leverage angles that cause pain, and then being able to make the necessary adjustments to work around, which sounds like you’re starting to get it nailed down.👍

Yeah, unfortunately shoulders are sketchy that way. Way to much surface area on the joint that can be messed up, and the location of the inflammation / injury in the joint makes it hard to say if what works for most will work for you. Same basic injury can cause pain in completely different planes of movement. You just have to find the angles you can work in and luckily there are many ways to hit those muscles so you can often still have some nice capped delts.

It’s a 180 degree joint…what could possibly go wrong?!?!🤣

Deload Week

This deload is way less intense than prev deloads. Not sure of Al Gorithm got tweaked or what but it’s REALLY light w very minimal volume. Maybe it realized my joints r sh!t🤣🤣🤣. Last week when doing rev grip pull downs I heard and felt a “pop” in the right elbow at tie-in for the long head of the tri. Felt minimal pain and was able to finish that set and perform last set w/out issue. When I was doing push downs I could feel something notch at full stretch/top of range of motion. Not sure if some scar freed up or if it’s just the arthritis my Ortho could see in X-Ray 🩻? Def something to keep an eye on.

Oh, I did cardio again post workout. 35 min at 5mph. It’s not the best treadmill but I do have the front legs of it fully extended to give an incline. I need better kicks, walking hurts my right foot. I had that plantar shiz act up a few months ago. Made me walk funny like I had “the gout”. Currently rockin Under Armor Project Rock Collection. Maybe time for some comfortable “Dad shoes” to go along w my “Dad Jokes”?🤣

That's a big training dump my friend! Yeah seems many of us are in the need for some new kicks. I need some fat boy shoes to hold the 200+ in my size 9.5-10 shoes. They make em expecting a 130-165lb dude or something and they never last for me unless i look for ones for heavier guys.

New Balance here I come!!!

That is what I have on now and they worked pretty well, lasted longer than a lot of others but me sliding my feet in without untying them gradually tore the insole out. The best pair I had was a harder soled Nike running show believe it or not. They lasted me like 2 years of hard daily use. I was even jogging in them regularly and had no issues. They just got too old and raggedy looking and the insole gave up on me. I am not a big shoe guy so my training shoes are also my daily wear shoes. I would happily wear those again but they don't make them any more.

My wife just got a pair of Brooks (I think that’s what they r called). She is on her feet all day on concrete and tile and says They are the most comfortable sneaker she has ever had.
If I’m not on the treadmill or in my garage dungeon gym I’m wearing Chucks or boots. My “gym shoes” have only been outside twice to get the mail🤣

There was a dude at the gym for a while he’s always be rocking his Ariat workboots and jeans. He didn’t mess around either moved some damn heavy weight.

crazy right? I use to lift w this guy Mike who worn Levi’s and timberland’s while he was benching 315 for sets. Never did legs and the jeans were tight so he kinda looked like Jacked SpongeBob

I wore some Brooks for a while, I forgot where i found them but they were a deal and yeah they were super comfortable. I have found that the ones that are the most comfortable for me at first don't normally last as long for me. The softer soled shoes are super comfortable but as soon as I start moving weight, or doing a lot of cardio in them they go bad quickly.

I am sure your way of keeping the workout shoes separate is actually much better, you only beat up the workout shoes during the workout and aren't beating up your all day shows with the heavy weights and harder use. So I am sure both last much longer for you.

I noticed the feet issues are more prevalent when my weight is higher. Mind blown! The more I weigh the more weight is transferred to my feet???🤣

Deload and meso coming to a close

37 min @ 5.2 mph on treadmill.

Halfway through this meso I rearranged things. Chest was days 1 and 3 and I’d still be in pain on day 3. Switched day 3 to 5 and I like that better. Gotta plan a new meso.

Every 20lbs is another level of discomfort for things, I’ve found
Last time I weighed myself was Tuesday after dinner and was 217. Heaviest I have been was 228 but that was winter of 22-23 and wasn’t lifting. Just eating … A LOT. Hips, knees, and feet hurt a lot. Plus having to hold your breath to put shoes on was no bueno.

If putting on shoes or wiping my ass gets tough, I know I’m too fat 😝

First time pressing more than 30lb db’s in a minute
As if right now shoulder feels good. Went deep. As if I was using a camber bar. 1 sec pause at full depth. Slow reps of 20 is a damn long set.

Kinda smoked me for the flyes. Only got 10 but form was spot on. Wide and deep like Bonnie Rottens back door 🤣🍑

Both shoulder movements felt great. Going pretty high the rev grip front raise

Rev grip bb row hit nice. First set was Very controlled. Second set prob should have stopped at 9 but I chalked up and “X Gonna Give It to Ya” came on, clapped the hands, sun was coming in through the window just perfect to see the dust. Ahhh the pageantry and mystique!!!… So went ballz out. Knew I shoulda stopped but who wants to pull out when it feels so damn good?!?!?!? But that’s how Ruff Ryderz Roll!!!

Some mediocre leg work. Just enough to say legs were done…maybe

Tri’s then bi’s

And that’s all I have to say about that…

Pull-downs felt great!

No pain on seated delt work

Trying to hit rear delts more often as they r lacking

And BB shrugs, did these w a slight bend in the arm at top of concentric w a pause and a slow release.

35 min @ 5 MPH on treadmill. DOMS from yest leg session made this a challenge.

Killing it in here!

Bonnie Rotten, isn't her favorite restaurant GAPplebee's?
