Ivan Putski’s Anthems, Anecdotes, and Undeniable Truths of Garage Gym Lifting

I did the 6AM - 2:30PM thing for a few years back in 2003 when our office was in Marlborough MA. Loved it and always beat the traffic. W/ you going North at that time, you will have zero traffic. I would work those 5AM - 2PM hours if given the choice as well. Heck, I work from home and still get up at 3:30 each day. Best of luck, and good progress on your routine...
Yeah I committed to it the other day. Starts next week. Past 2 days I woke u at 3:45 w out an alarm. Fell back asleep but my subconscious knows what’s up. lol.
I am making some steady progress. How is your pec?

I slacked on putting this up, but another week in the books. Mentally I wanted to hit 25’s on all my rep counts. Came up short on pull downs and push ups. Still met or exceeded estimated rep count. This was my
1 RIR week. Next week is to failure, All in BALLZ OUT!
Today, which is Friday, I’m starting the new SNS Thermagize XT (replacing my 1 can of Celsius), SNS MITOBURN, and both SNS GDA/berberine prodcuts. Want to peel the onion so to speak. I’ll post dosages and timing. On my Saturday write up!

Barbell Inclines, I wanted to try for 11 reps but I’m the only member of my garage gym and didn’t have a spotter so I settled for 10 which was the goal, but who doesn’t want MORE?!?!?!

Db flys were like an ESPN special. 30’s for 30

Raises and upright rows felt nice. Exceeded the target number on those!

Bent over rows I bumped it 5lbs to 185 and target was 17 reps. Got greedy and worked out 3 more reps totaling 20.

I was completely smoked after this routine.

Made some supplement additions……..

SNS Thermagize XT 1 cap 2x/day (this stuff is smoooooth. No jitters, real clean not like Yellow Bullet or old school Stacker 2. Shout out to @Hyde for mentioning this in his log. Good looks Brother!!!)

SNS MitoBurn 1000mg a.m. and 1000mg PWO
non-lifting days 1000mg a.m. and 1000mg mid afternoon

SNS GlucoVantage XT 1 cap b4 meals 1, 2, and 3

SNS GlycoPhase 4 caps b4 dinner
in total, 2000mg of berberine/day

Squats felt good bumped it up 5lb and exceeded target rep count

Wanted to add a second set on the Good Effin’ Mornings but lower back felt tight. Did blow target rep count out of the water though.

Went up 5lb on db skull crushers and still hit 30 reps. I think I’ve cleared my mental stigma on the tricep injury. Not a bad thing

Db curl I beat the target rep count by 3. VERY NICE! (Said like Borat of course)

Went up 10lb on Stair calf raises and hit 30
Time to bump that weight as well

Catching up in here, but some nice workouts! That fatloss stack looks nice and should treat you well. BAIBA is def one of my favorites and I'm using right now to keep things in check along with TTA/paradoxine until my schedule/life gets a little more conducive to progress towards a fitness goal.

I’m a couple days into it. Took a break from the THERMAGIZE XT yest as it was a mellow family day.
starting a new/earlier shift tomorrow at work so I have some “adjustments” coming up.

Everything felt nice in this workout.

I was very happy w 225 for 12 on second set of barbell bench. Depending on which 1RM Max calculator you subscribe to I’m pretty happy!!!💪🇵🇱⚒️
Bumped the incline db by 5lb and surpassed target reps

All in all the day was a win!!!

Some good training going on in here.

Don’t trust a rep calculator with over 10 reps for input. A lot of people can’t even necessarily trust 10, if they’re not used to lifting at their limit.

If you’re hitting 12 reps, bump it up 5-10lbs next time! Kicking ass

I trust nothing until it happens. Almost like that line in 300 “Give them nothing, but take from them EVERYTHING!”

Another week in the books

Met or exceeded all weights and or rep counts.
Next week is a deload.
Don’t go back to work until Tuesday
Gonna chillax a bit!!!

Man you move some good weight for all of those reps!

Thank you!!!
I like the burn!!!🔥
I always had sh!t side delts and could move the 30’s or 35’s but for 6-8 ugly reps. VanWycks’s vids on lateral raises got me to “connect” w the muscle finally. I had to drop back to 15lb db’s and start over but it worked. And LOVE the rev grip pull downs. I feel them better than reg grip. Motion feels more natural

Damn nice work! I was looking for your log but I forget it’s in the different sub forum then all the other logs.

Pec I think is good, but right delt still giving me a hassle, so I can really bench...
Sucks but it is what it is...

Only on the de-load week. Incline bench is HIGHER at 0 RIR. So……….um……………… SAD FACE!!!.. LMAOOO
My SLDL is stronger too.

The deload makes way more sense for that; you have to pull the lower back more than upper to recover as well certainly.

De-load week is never fun but needed by my joints. I basically performed the working sets as one set. I go “stim free” PWO on deload week. Coincidentally, I am all out of stim-free PWO. Got a CRAZY pump on DB split squats.
This is also wk 2 of Thermagize XT, MitoBurn @ 2000mg and GDA’s

Niceeee yeah deloads are definitely part of the game. Sounds like you still got a good pump and next week be ready to hit the next meso!!

I like the one I’m doing right now so probably going to repeat the same meso
You should if you enjoy it and things are still moving along well. People change their meso's too often, not ringing what they can out of a movement sometimes not even allowing themselves time to get efficient at the movement itself before moving on.

I ran the last 5 wk Meso 4 times. Some substitutions on some exercises here and there but mostly status quo. 20wks of same routine just got stale so I mixed it up. I concur that ringing every drop out of what works is the way to go.

Yeah to be honest I have been on the same meso since October of last year. I have had to replace a few things due to injury modifications but other than that I was working on the same weak points all year. Guess what? They came up!

Coach said after the show we will reassess and see where I need to work on things from here based on my progress. That we are ready to move focus on a few things.

Do you experience any tendinitis? My right shoulder starting acting up from previous Meso as I was hitting bi’s and shoulders 3 times a week. I thought it was bursa in shoulder but when I would let a db hang for a good stretch I’d really feel it.

That’s the last workout of de-load week and closes out this 5 wk Mesocycle. I like this Meso and plan on running it again. I might swap out a couple things but overall it’s GTG!!!
4th night in a row I couldn’t finish my dinner, eyes were bigger than my stomach and didn’t crave a snack b4 bed. This may seem normal to most but I am usually very hungry in the later hours, always have been. Not sure if this is the MitoBurn, Thermagize XT, GlycoPhase, and GlucoVantage XT combo suppressing my appetite. I am taking roughly 2000mg of beberine/day, 1000 of that at dinner.

I think the server for this site reboots at 4:30 am daily. This is the second day in a row I tried to update at same time and got a white screen after refreshing page.

Sounds like something is working some magic! Nice de load and primed for next week! Yesterday I noticed the forum was super slow to load and all so not sure what was up.

Occasionally I get some connective tissue pain, mostly in my biceps brachialis from doing so many DB Side raises. We have been focusing on medial delts all year, and i was focusing on them for several months before starting with my coach as well. So the area has been abused. I have shoulders today and intend to go to the more commercial gym since they have a lateral raise machine that the pads rest on your elbows and forearms instead of a dumbbell or something in my hand stressing the biceps brachialis.

Yeah for biceps and shoulders 3 times a week you should have only been pressing one of those sessions. if pressing and doing biceps 3 times a week it will likely bite you after a bit.

I have been doing zero pressing for shoulders. This was db lateral raises 2x a week, ez bar upright rows, and cable upright rows. Bi’s were ez bar narrow, db curl, db curl on incline, and cable curls

That's a lot of upright rowing, make sure when you upright row you get the bar path a little further out in front of you to minimize impingement. You might also find using the DB's is easier, more comfortable and allows you to hit your shoulders more than your traps. I doubt any of the direct biceps movements were the issue but where was the pain. Up near the shoulder, or down by your elbow? If down by your elbow you might be hyperextending your curls, if so go just until you feel a stretch but don't straighten all the way out for a bit. Also do so my myofascial release on the area to break up any scar tissue that might be there binding things keeping them extra tight.

You should check out Scott Bailey’s YouTube channel. I’ve added in a ton of his drills for shoulders/lats lately and they feel better.

So this meso I 86’d the ez bar rows and subbed in dumbbells. Cable one don’t really bother me. And I was grazing the upper body w bar path. Db’s and cable keep it out from my chest a bit. Good tips. And yes, the pain was/is in she shoulder area. Between front delt and medial delt if I really relax and move the muscle w my other hand I can find the spot that hurts. But the pain permeates down the bicep

Look up medial biceps tendon pain, you should be able to find some myofascial release stuff for that area as well.
