Ivan Putski’s Anthems, Anecdotes, and Undeniable Truths of Garage Gym Lifting

**** that’s not even the speed limit for interstate out here lol
TOTALLY Sux. I drive through MA, ME, and NH. All 3 have different speed limits, DOT lane restrictions, and DOT check point criteria. We switched to online DOT logs vs paper logs so now if pulled over or at a DOT inspection you have to log into laptop, establish F5 VPN, 2x MFA (multiple form of authentication) for log-in on VPN, 2x MFA for site log-in, and if cell service is spotty it takes longer. All of this w a Trooper at you window 🤣🤣🤣🥵🥵🥵

Last night we were supposed to go to my brother-in-laws for fireworks but he changed his to the 6th so a couple we r friends w came by and they brought their Siberian Husky for My Boy Blu to play w. They also came w A LOT of fireworks. 💥
One of the kits for 3” mortars was suspect. Out of 4 mortars in the kit only 1 actually shot to correct height before explosion. 2 launched 5’ in the air before falling to the ground and going off. 1 blew the tube up and sent flaming tube shrapnel all around the yard. My buddy Rob looked like his feet were nailed to the ground and he just dropped backward and dodged flying pyrotechnics, I was standing behind a 4x4 deck support and it hit that. Crazy times.
Thank God no one got hurt. All in all, good food w good peeps and we can all say our hearing might be impaired but the reflexes are sharp!!!

Waiting on a pkg between 10:15 and 2:30 USPS

RAD-140 I am guessing, by the way, I remember that movie!

Nice, how high do you plan on running it?

Nice, how high do you plan on running it?
So I have been on EPIANDRO since May 8th, added 4 Andro 1st week in June, and now adding the RAD-150

EpiAndro @ 1200mg. 600 will be preworkout except on deload weeks

4-Andro is a TD salvo 150mg 2 times/day 300 total. Have more to bump this up but not sure

RAD-150 20mg/day for 30 days

That will conclude my cycle/ stack

I also have Telmisartan on hand in case of BP issues but Blood Pressure Support XT has kept me between 117/60 and 126/68

PCT will be,

Nolva 20mg/day 4wks

SNS Prime XT 9 caps for 90 days

CEL Anabolic Effect 6 caps for 90 days

SNS Inhibit-e

also debating if I want to add Reduce XT
AND should I start the Prime and Anabolic Effect b4 stopping the cycle so it’s in my system for when I pull the plug on the Epi, 4-Andro, Rad stack??

Thoughts and opinions always appreciated

day 2 of RAD-150

I go stim free for my pwo on deload weeks
Went w SNS citrulline 2 scoops, SNS Creatine HCI, and 3 caps of Vasoforce XT

Followed by 30 min of LISS on treadmill at an incline.
Got a great pump for minimal volume on a deload. Back, tri’s and bi’s were still a bit sore from Wednesday’s workout but nothing overbearing

Subbed! I've been considering making an RP purchase (app or templates) for a long time now. Good to see the screenshots of the app. Can't believe there are 24, 30 rep sets though! Wow!

Thank you for following!!!

I tend to be frugal so if I make a monetary investment it significantly increases my engagement. I spent a lot of time w my “Babcia” growing up and she always referred to living through the “war effort”.
I overthink things. I could sit down w a calendar, pen, and paper and “attempt” to design the perfect workout. I’d get ahead of myself and start predicting weights 6wks out. This helps me “keep it simple stupid”.
I am trying something I have never done before w the high rep range. I was a firm believer in the AST-SS Max-OT training style. 4-6 rep range. All in ballz out mentality. A torn tricep later. 1 yr to the day, my tune has changed.
What I have observed, when starting an exercise w a lower initial rep count will lead to same rep count w consistent weight increase. For instance, barbell bench has always been 8 reps but increases 5lb/ wk. tricep extension started off at 12 or 15 reps and the recommended reps increase by 1 or 2 per week. Still playing around with it and learning what works best for me at 47 after taking 8yrs off from lifting.

Also interested in what you think of this. Not sure of the difference between 140 vs 150...
I have never run RAD 140. My understanding is the half life is greater and “lesser” side effects. Running it for a short window of 30 days @20mg/day. Cycle started 1st week in May

Epiandro. @ 900mg Ed wks 1-7
@ 1200mg Ed wks 8-13
4Andro TD @ 300mg Ed wks 4-13
RAD-150. @ 20mg Ed wks 8-13

Been taking SNS Inhibit-e, Blood pressure Support XT, and Liver Support XT and have nothing to complain about.

Do you think I should bump the 4-Andro or Epi up now that I’ve implemented RAD150?

I also have my PCT already in hand.

Definitely use Reduce XT; PCT is a high cortisol time and thus an optimal time to use that to prevent unnecessary catabolism.

I would wait to start the Prime and Anabolic XT until you begin PCT. Most people report performance to remain quite high the first couple weeks off, and I have set numerous PRs in the week or two after personally. It takes time for muscle to fall off, even if a poor environment is created it can’t happen overnight.

So there will be time to “let it build”, if you will.

I was contemplating the Reduce XT. I consume a lot of caffeine and have job related stress. Now I am no longer on the fence!!! Thanks Mr Hyde!!!

so I mentioned b4 that I go “Stim-free” PWO wise during de-load week. Well boy did I truck up!!!
I thought I had a tub of a stim free from a co I use to buy from. I had bought both stim and stim free from same co. Labels r similar. Threw tub in my cooler for work, 2 scoops for ride home, hit Home Depot on the way and BOOM!!! Feel like I’m having a meltdown in the store. I blame heat etc, drive home, read label and realize I had double scooped STIM pre workout. 500mg of caffeine. Saying that out loud, that’s prob why I barely ate last night after workout. 3 hamburgers, no bun or cheese or ketchup. Just ate them like a savage. lol. Also the reason why I look very dry today. I need to read labels correctly. Or at least read the label.
didn’t like the “breaking bad” 2 scoop feeling. Especially on a de-load. I did the light weight multiple sets as ONE SET. didn’t see the point of stopping for a min. It’s not like I was setting PR’s🤣🤣🍔🍔🍔💪💪💪💥💥

OOPS! Ha - we've all been there at some point in our journey accidentally.

The big problem though is if someone does that with a designer stim pre... or when kids do multiple energy drinks in a row. That's when we can't have nice things...

I forget which one it is - and generally I like Appollon - but they have some pre that has 500 mg caffeine plus other stuff like Alpha y or something at 1 scoop. Can you imagine??

My central nervous system would be furious w me. And then the cortisol delivery truck shows up for my mid-section. Lol
I had drank 2 coffee b4 work, a Celsius (another 200mg) at 11 and then the PWO at 5. I only had 50g of carbs all day. Pour decision making on my part!!!

Forgot to log this Wednesday due to kitchen sink backing up, water all over the floor etc.
Banged out of work yest to play “plumber” all day. Had to buy 50’ snake, remove section of the finished bead board ceiling in basement, access clean out point below sink and have at it. Previous home owner did some “unique” plumbing repairs that I discovered. Won’t know if it’s fixed until adhesive drys. Want the full “cure time” b4 I run water down the drain.
I fasted until 6:30 yest. Made it a whopping 22hrs. @Hyde I don’t know how you do it. Kudos to you and your discipline. I don’t know if it’s the RAD150 or the heat but my appetite has been lacking. I’m not disgusted w food just not having that “starving” feeling after I smoke at end of day.
@Smont your log about the cycle and meal plan you crated for ya boy is similar to what I’m doing right now. I do a 2 scoop casein shake in a.m. 2 protein bars for a late lunch w 1/4 cup almonds, 2 scoops of iso w an English muffin post workout, and a protein w rice or sweat potato fries in air fryer. Try to save my cals for a “normal” meal w my wife.
bw has stayed 204-208 ish but looking leaner.

If bodyweight is stuck for more then a week or so I would pull 250 calories a day or I'd add some cardio to burn a extra 250cal a day or 500 eod.

Trading the protein bars and nuts for a grilled chicken wrap and a small piece of fruit would eliminate some calories and give you a better pre workout meal as well.

I get what you mean w real food vs bars but I suck at meal prep, so being on the road bars are working for now. But I’ll keep it in mind. My weight yo-up’s throughout the week. I was 214 Tuesday morning and 204 yest after 22hr fast, now 208 just now

Dude, you have to just adopt my meal prep methods. Call it lazy man meal prep or whatever. I cook, or pay my daughter to cook 10lbs of chicken breast, and 4lbs of flank steak once a week then cut it all into cubes and put it in ziplock gallon bags, while that is going i put 8 cups of white rice in the rice cooker and when it is done I fluff it let it cool a bit and ziplock it up too. Then I just keep a scale at work and home and just pull what I need out when I need it, pop it in the nuker and strap on the feedbag. Makes it super easy, and then if you decide to change macros midweek or something you can adjust on the fly. If you have a good knife, and a foreman style grill it doesn't take long to cook at all. Sometimes in a pinch we fill up a cooler with water and use a sous vide cooker.
I just stubbed my toe and it hurt. Did the RAD150 cause that?🤣🤪🤣🤪
Obviously, why would you think it might not have? 🤣🤪🤣🤪

Oh yeah, you were falling asleep close to doing a 34-36 hour fast. All you had to do was go to sleep and get some free fasting hours. Next time give that a shot if you want to extend the fasts a little more. Surprisingly if you go to sleep when you wake up there is enough cortisol in the morning breaking down fats and increasing energy that often you are nowhere near as hungry as you were in the evening before and can easily choose to wait until when you would normally break your fast if you typically do like an 8/16 fast or something.

It's not so much about real food vs. Bars. But calories. If your weight yo yos that much there has to be calories unaccountable. Consistently fluctuating 2-3 pounds over the course of a week is no big deal but 10 pounds means there's something significant going on. The only thing with the real food before your workout is it's going to be easily digested and not mess with your gut as much and won't leave you bloated. Plus You don't want a lot of fat pre-workout so id at least eliminate the nuts

Cooking chicken for the week is no issue for me, we only grill once, but you eating rice more than a couple days old is impressive! Just kind of turns into a rock it seems like.

If meal preparation is a big problem you cant go wrong with a $5 3lb cooked Rotisserie from Costco. Takes maybe 8-10 minutes to rip all the meat off of it and put it in a Tupperware. I've actually cut in nothing but Precooked store rotisserie chickens and fruit and vegetables. It's a pretty easy meal prep.

2 drumsticks and eggs for breakfast a breast for lunch, a breast post workout and the scraps with more eggs for meal 4. Fruit n veggies mixed in.

Yes, people don’t realize how pre-prepped you can get things. They sell peeled boiled eggs, rice packets that microwave in 80 seconds, individual sweet potatoes in steamer wraps for the microwave, frozen bags of veggies that steam in 5 minutes, the Fairlife RTD drinks, tuna pouches, cheese sticks, bagels & wraps like we mentioned, individual cup/pouch servings of both guacamole & nut butters, single serving bags of nuts, and obviously pieces of fruit travel well.

Some of that pre-packed stuff may not be cost effective if you’re bulking, but it’s not that hard to add calories and rice, pasta & milk are always affordable. So bulking can still be cheap. And if you’re cutting or need lower calories to maintain, buying a few Starkist tuna packs for the road each day won’t break most people. Or a $1.50 bag of steamer veggies you can split over a couple days.

I think there’s no reason to live entirely off protein powders/bar beyond wanting to - cost & convenience can still be had with whole food.

While I do agree, during this year I have learned that rice can be rehydrated pretty well. I just have to add enough water when I reheat it to let it steam and soak into the rice, then let it stand for 2-3 minutes and the rice is nice and soft again. Honestly I have not done 8 cups in probably 2 months because I am not eating enough rice to justify that. During the peak of my bulk 8 cups dry rice lasted about 3-4 days, so I would make some when I saw the original bags were getting low. Now as we discussed in another log previously the actual carb content available is lower after the rice is cooled for a longer period so there were probably some discrepancies there regarding macros but all in all it has been a success. Right now I think I can get away with right at 4 cups a week.

I agree with both @Hyde, and @Smont, so many ways to skin a cat. I also used to just make large casserole type meals I called bucket days. I would make 4-5lbs chicken breast cut it up and put it in with some Mexican, Mediterranean, or Morrocan seasoning, something like a tikka masala sauce, stewed tomatoes, and the like. I would just weight out everything as I put it in then once done add all of that up in a tally then look at the macros and weigh out my portions. I would do something like that, and them maybe a big pot of chili with 93/7 ground beef or turkey, some beans, and when i wanted more carbs added in rice afterwards. Then I would be able to have the same thing all day or alternate between the 2 meals, and everything else was basically periworkout nutrition via protein and or carb powders. Super Simple, only an hour or so spent cooking both and had some amazing tasting meals all week long. Very convenient, and satisfying.

I ran the last meso of 5 wks four times. (20wks). Wanted a change. I hadn’t done incline barbell press in 20 yrs. Pretty happy with repping 185lb for 10. Also, hadn’t done db fly in a year and had never done the “Super ROM” raises or the db upright rows. It was hard to dial in 3 RIR on new exercises but I did my best.

I only did 2 shakes, breakfast and post workout. I had a Chipotle chicken and rice burrito bowl 3 hrs b4 working out vs the 2 protein bars. Dinner was grilled chicken on wheat wrap.

My elbow isn’t really mobile enough to do incline well anymore, and I was never very strong on it, but it is a lift I always enjoyed.

It seemed to hit different than db incline. I have day 2 of DOMS in the upper pec. Didn’t get sore like this w db’s but I was repping out at 60’s or 65’s vs 185. I was thankful these didn’t bother my shoulder. Bicep tendon in the shoulder had be pissed w me for 10 or so wks. Oddly hurt during bench. @botk1161 had mentioned, in another thread, the reverse grip front raises at higher reps to try to mitigate some of the pain. It worked but I think not hitting bi’s 3 times a week may help also. I really felt it on the eccentric, especially at full stretch.

Immediately after I finished I hopped on my Road Glide and went to brother-in-laws for a dip in his pool and some burgers on the grill. The heat wave continues. Anything under 90 MPH on the highway was still hot. He lives 30 min away but I made it in 23. The throttle was, how do you say, WIDE FUGGIN OPEN!!!

The difference with the DB's and the barbell is that you are probably benching with your arms more flared out when using the barbell on bench, and a more tucked version of them with the DB's because they are easier to control in that position. The wider grip with higher elbows is going to put more of a stretch on the pecs than a tucked or elbows in closer position.

Been a while since I hit back and chest on the same day. AMAZING upper body pump. I felt THICK. I was still feeling the DOMS from incline barbell 2 days before. Hopefully just acclimating to the new routine. Heat wave continues. Garage is cooler than outside but still not comfortable. Once I get a dripping sweat and stand in front of the fan it isn’t so bad.

On a side note, finally got the kitchen sink drain unclogged. Rented a 50’ power fed drain auger snake. I have to give my wife a shout out for being BEYOND PATIENT with me playing plumber. Normalcy has been restored in the realm……………. For now…………………..

Too funny, I just updated that I got it fixed. So if you ever have to rent from Home Depot, show up at 4:05 and do a 4hr rental. Rental dept closes at 8 and they give you until 9 the next day to return.
best hundo I ever spent

Really liking this new Mesocycle so far. Getting CRAZY pumps. Not sure if that’s from eating real food pre workout or from the RAD-150. Either way, I down w it! Added 50lbs to the SLDL and had ZERO lower back pain. I always pussy foot around doing these due to sciatic pain in the past. Pleasantly surprised with the outcome. If the trend continues I’m adding more sets.
food is still a.m. shake, chicken and rice bowl 2-3hrs b4 lifting, iso shake post workout, and dinner is chick or beef w rice or sweet potatoes. Wish I had the diet better dialed in right from jump street when I started this cycle. Feel like I’m playing catch-up w only a couple weeks left.
@Smont , @Hyde , @MrKleen73 , and any other onlooker…. any thoughts on stretching the cycle out any longer? I don’t want to be greedy but “cuz Gainz”!!!
