Is Total Estrogen Assay Worthless in Males?

Dr. John believes so.. I just like to stir up some discussion about this to see everyone's take on it.

Aromatase Inhibitors, such as Arimidex, inhibit the conversion of testosterone to estradiol, but also androstenedione to estrone. Therefore they lower the levels of all estrogens.

BTW, the Total Estrogen, for adult males, is not a valid assay.

For some it may be but more so I would look into estrogen urine tests to get an over all pics. Jansz proves that it can be lowered through nutritional supplelementation

Do not believe rumors that estrogen tests are worthless.
Some may be more accurate than others, but that is the best we have to work with.
When better tests come in, we will use them.

Lowering total estrogens

Do you know how much your total estrogens lowerec by while taking DualAction 5 pills (for cruciferous, I3C & DIM Content) and 2 TMG pills?

Do you take the 7 pills all at once or do you spread them thru the day?

While on TRT estrogens have to be monitored, all estrogens, as in blood test list post #44
I use LEF life Extension Foundation products
DualAction 5 pills ( for cruciferous, I3C & DIM content)
TMG 2 pills

I also use Arimidex or actually the liquid version for ease of use.
I use insuline syringe with cut off needle to get my dose.
I use Arimidex on E3D schedule, same as my T&hcg for simplicity.
I use 0.5cc=50units=1/2pill eact time, dosing must be verified by testing.

I divide all my pills into morning/afternoon.
I have 36 containers and prepare all my pills for 18 days ahead of the time.

I am not sure about TMG pills, the are nice and shiny when they go to those containers, latter on they loos their polish.
I am afraid some interaction is going on.

When I drew blood for test 13Apr2007 I was on 1gram of compounded Tcrean, 100mg/1mg starting 1Feb2007.
I had changed to T cream from 10grams of Androgel.
10grams Androgel=1gram Tcream
The blood test revealed that I do not absorb Tcream as well as I did Androgel, so I changed to 2grams Tcream.
Shortly I realized that I was not realy gaining anything.
Applying daily 2 grams of Tcream plus 1gram preg cream was taking up to half an hour daily.
I had to plan ahead all my showers.
I had to wear long pants at home so I would not transfer to my grandson.
Too much trouble.
Without waiting for blood test, I switched to DepoT shots,
starting 6/19/07
I figured out my dose using research that I have posted on my thread.
At the same time I changed hcg from 250iu E2D to 500iu E3D
I also added (did not used before) 0.5cc Liquidex E3D
I do all three (T+hcg+liquidex) on same day, the other two days free.
Thurday 30August07 I had blood drawn, now waiting for report.
Will post when available.
