intra carbs post re-feed

My normal routine is to train fasted with intra-carbs. Following a re-feed/cheat meal the night prior to a workout would you drop the intra carbs considering you have sufficiently carb loaded?

Try it and see if you notice a difference.

I should have seen that coming... You are right and was planning on trying it next week.

I guess the better question would have been are others doing it or not?

If your training session is in the morning and you're having your re-feed the night prior, depending on the intensity and duration of the workout, intra-carbs may not be needed.

But again, this would be the perfect time/situation for yourself to test it out and see what you notice.

saying something may not be needed is kind of redundant in the supplement industry. its pretty much a given that none of this stuff is needed in the first place. optimizing training should be your goal, and fitting your supplements to optimize your goals should be your intentions with doing so.

with that said whatever you wish to accomplish by training fasted is not being met, as its not training fasted when youre literally drinking food.

If your refeed is the night before i dont think you need it. it takes more than one workout to deplete glycogen. If anything consider introducing it back on your second or third day after the refeed.

I would personally just hop right back on your normal diet/kcals after a cheat meal and continue to stay consistent with your routine.

If you are training first thing upon waking in the morning and you had your cheat meal as the last meal of the day your reserves might be topped (Depending on amount you had and portions) and you may not need the intra-workout carbs, But they would not hurt for optimal peri-workout nutrition especially in a fasted state upon waking.

What type of diet are you doing? What is your usual carb intake?

I'm currently on a cut and am eating ~100-125g carbs per day. I usually hit my protein and fats and let my carbs take up the rest.

In that case I would do exactly like solution said. I assumed you were doing a cyclical keto type thing. My bad

While everyone is answering your question, I'm just over here wondering what you're having for your refeed :) :)

Haha, I recently bought a bunch of pints of ice cream when I drove to Michigan so it's dinner (last Sat was a burger) + a pint of ice cream :)

Ima echo what kbayne said. Go with whatever your preference is. It isn't gonna make a huge difference either way so just go with whatever you prefer
